  Your laptop HP Pavilion 2240nr g7, is basically the same thing as my sister-in-law g6-2210us laptop HP Pavilion computer. Drivers 64-bit of Windows 8 listed for two computers are the same. I installed Windows 7 64 bit on his computer in February 2013 and used the following drivers of multiple origins;

  Drivers for Chipset AMD (Chipset, USB 3.0, SATA/RAID)

  AMD Catalyst Display Driver

  Realtek FE family LAN Driver

  HP sp54972 Atheros 5xxx/9xxx WLAN Driver

  It is possible that the WLAN chipset on your machine is different and may require different drivers.

  I've also updated updated the Driver of the Synaptics TouchPad for v17.0.19 on Synaptics site. Some of the factors above may require the HP sp59202 software framework. • Problem installing Windows 7: drivers needed

  I try to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 on a 250 GB hard drive which is perfectly clean. Windows asks a driver for my ASUS DRW-2014L1T optical drive before it can proceed with the installation. The ASUS site offers only a few firmware for this model, and none of them are same for Windows 7 (vista is the more recent they are). In addition, the firmware are in .exe format which makes me think they are intended to be installed on a machine with Windows already installed. So, do you know of any ways to get around this problem? Is there generic drivers that I could install?

  ·         Is ASUS DRW-2014L1T internal or external drive?

  If the computer has an another DVD player, I suggest to use the DVD player and try to install Windows 7.

• USB does not wake up after Tecra R840 goes to sleep

  I have a Toshiba Tecra R840 on windows 7 sp1. I use a USB mouse, but whenever I put my laptop to sleep I have to go out and re put the dongle insert it again.

  I've changed the following power options:
  Under devices, USB, USB Root Hub power management "allow the computer to tun turn off this device to save power" is not checked

  It goes the same for generic Hub
  Under control panel, power options, USB, USB selective parameter settings is disabled.

  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Have hmmm you tried to remove/delete the USB hubs and controllers from Device Manager and install it again?
  Usually after restart again the system should automatically find the drivers and needs to be reinstalled all USB controllers once more

  I use Windows 8 Enterprise in a Tecra R840.
  I have not had any problems with the installation. All but three devices installed correctly.
  I list below those that have not been installed:
  -BT
  -3G Modem
  -Fingerprint sensor

  BT and fingerprint sensor were installed with Windows 7 drivers, and work very well.
  The 3G modem is installed correctly, but the connection is detected as a LAN no dial-up connection. So I can't connect, and he repeats to me plug in a cable.

  My new ssd (arriving in a few days) is a Plextor M5P which is 7 mm thick! My Tecra R840-16J have a thickness 9.5 mm HDD and what I've seen is no caddy!

  As far as I know that some models are available with drive HARD and some with SSD these models with SSD have small SSD support. SSD is fixed by 4 screws in this medium.

  I put t really know how to help you now. Maybe you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. I think they can check the part number of this door - or maybe order one for you.

  If you are satisfied with your laptop I put t understand why you want to change the operating system. You must be happy with preinstalled OS never touch a running system ;)

  Maybe the Tecra A8 will not support Windows 7 because it s old enough. At present, it seems that Toshiba won't release of Windows 7 drivers, because I founded this:

  But maybe they will support more portable in the future, who knows

  Theoretically, you can install Windows 7, but you have to collect the drivers yourself on external Web sites.
