Tecra R840 - WLAN disable when LAN connected

In my business, use the Tecra R840 Notepad and to improve the situation, we are considering turning off wifi when we put on cable network.

We found that the last other models from other manufacturers have this option in the bios called "WLAN / WAN switching.

Is there an option in the R840?
To update the Bios option to display everything even?

Hello

Toshiba offer different laptops with different BIOS.
As far as I know the WLan could be turned on and off in the BIOS for T230 series.
I m not quite sure R840 about, but I guess you can't disable WLan in BIOS.

But why you don t use the Fn + F8 key combination to disable WiFi?

I can't imagine that the use of the Fn + F8 might be a big pain for you

  • Tecra R840 WLAN sporadically not have access to internet or router

    Hello

A few days ago I baught a Tecra R840. Everything works fine but the WLAN adapter. Basically, Internet works, but sporadically - especcially during downloading files - the wlan adapter loses the connection to internet/router.

It is always connected to the router at full speed, but it says 'limited access' and the download is interrupted. I then manually disconnect the network and then reconnect, it sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries. But it still works for a few minutes.

You have an idea, what can be the reason for this problem?

    Hello

    There are some things that should be considered;
    -Update the WLan driver
-Deactivation of energy saving for the WLan

    Did you check both?
If this isn't the case, please update the WLan driver.
In addition go to Win 7 power management and disable the WLan to save energy.
In many cases, this affects the Wlan functionality.

If your router has been set to 802. 11 G, then you must choose this also on your laptop. Reach:
    Panel-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab
Here you will find a few different options that can improve performance. I m not very well what settings you have for each wireless network card supports different options.

  • Portege R700: How turn off WLAN when the connection to the local network is available

    Hello

    I am the owner of Portege R700, with Windows 7 x 86.
I want to find a way to disable WLAN automatically when I plug Ethernet.

I tried to enable the following setting:

"Device Manager", "Network Adaptaters", "Broadcom 802.11n", 'Advanced', 'Disable on cable connection' = enable. "

But it does not work. Do you have another idea for me?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

I think that to do this automatically, you should not use certain software/tools for part 3.
Looks like applications BridgeChecker or protective Wireless does this job very well.

Check that a feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi, Bill:

The configuration menu of the BIOS device, to a framework entitled turn on LAN/WLAN switching.

  • Tecra R840-16V down internet (no wireless or ethernet) connection

    Hello

I have a Tecra R840-16V and I lose the internet connection for a few seconds 'all time' I power plug (or rear) or an external monitor (with VGA cable) or an external hard drive (USB port).
This isn't really a problem! It's really annoying...
Does anyone of you have suggestions?

    Thank you in advance!

    > I lose internet connection for a few seconds "every time."
To be honest I've ever read on this issue. What do you mean by lose exactly?
No interruptions of connection while loading some files or how did you notice connection interruptions?

You said that to happen just for a few seconds so normally this shouldn't be noticeable.

    Your comments are greatly appreciated

  • How to make the computer to look for SBRIO on a LAN connection when wireless connections LAN and are active

    Hello

I plugged my laptop to a SBRIO using a cable, I also did the same mask subnet the SBRIO and my wireless connection for laptop is also active. I run an application to transfer files from the network to the SBRIO. I was able to download the files from the network using the wireless, but when I try to transfer the files from the laptop to the SBRIO the application attempts to use the wireless instead of the connection to the local network. Is there anyway that I can apply to use the LAN connection instead of wireless?

    Thank you

    Mouda.

You must manually configure the settings for the SBRIO and map NETWORK cable on the PC. They must be presented on the same subnet. Using the crossover cable, you can configure your PC to use an address like 192.168.0.10 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Configure the SBRIO to use an address as 192.168.0.11 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The PC uses the network connection by default for all addresses that do not match the specific subnet on teaching secondary (cable in your case) NIC

  • HP Envy 15 J6Z08EA #UUW: disabling pop-up message when the connection warning me that I have disabled the connection of the fingerprint

I want to remove an annoying message when connecting. I disabled the fingerprint reader, because it makes my games to the tab down whenever I accidentally touch the reader. And it is placed "below" on the left side of the keyboard (keys WASD, if you understand me) who thought that might be a good idea.

Now I get these messages of connection warning me that the fingerprint is not enabled, every time I started the computer, make me when entering my password to start over from the first letter, so that my password is messy (if I had the password: 'password' that would make me write pass) , and then the popup would come, that I have to click down, and then if I write "word" it originally make my password 'wordpass' test, if you understand. So it's a manufacturer 'fault' I'm trying to fix. Any tips? Is the way to activate only the reader of fingerprints to be active during the connection and not when already connected. Or how to remove these popups WARNING when connecting.

    Hi there SimonWoss,

  • I unchecked the "notify me when this connection is limited or no connectivity" for my windows wireless and LAN connections, but the icons still appear in sys tray when it is disconnected.

    Hello

I use my Intel client to manage my wireless network connection in Windows XP Pro SP3. (I need to use the Intel client because it supports protocols wireless not supported by the Windows client).

I would like to remove the icon from the system tray/notification area Windows wireless network connection and cannot find a way to do it.

I opened the network connections, right click and choose 'properties' and in the general tab at the bottom there are two check boxes "Show icon in notification area when connected" and "notify me when this connection is limited or not connectivity ' which I disabled (I did it for my local network also), but the icons still appear in the status bar when it is disconnected.

    Any suggestions?
    Thank you
    Bob

I found a registry change that removes the icon in the systray.  One needs only to remove these keys (save the first):

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}]

    [\DefaultIcon HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} \InProcServer32]

  • How can I disable "auto adjust in progress" message when I connect?

I'm trying to get back to normal... after having my reinstalled windows vista premium, when I connect screen is unstable, this message appears and then the screen is correct.  Can I stop this from happening?

    Dolores

    Hi Dolores,

    1. What is the make and model on the computer?

Looks like a problem with the resolution of the screen.

    Method 1:

First to the top, try and run a clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Perform step 7 to set the computer to boot normally.

    Method 2:

    Change the screen resolution

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

    Method 3:

Go to the Web site of the manufacturer of your laptop computer-graphics/computer card > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.
