Tecra S2 - error in an I/O device if I play a DVD

Hello
I use a Toshiba Tecra S2 with a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-830 s

Now, the problem is, when I play a CD, CD-ROM, everything works. But when I want to play a DVD I especially notice that there is an error in an I/O device.
Then I tried to renew the driver with one that came bundled with my Tecra S2(on CD by the way) but now the same DVD that I want to play is shown as empty.

I have recently been able to read the DVD, but now he's not playing. Can someone help me?

Welcome them

Hello!

Is the CD/DVD drive listed in Device Manager correctly or you have yellow exclamation points?

If your drive is marked with a yellow exclamation point, you must remove it from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. After that the drive will be installed again and you don t need another driver. The driver is part of the operating system.

In addition, you must remove the upper and lower registry filters. You can find an accurate description of this document from Microsoft:

    Hello

I restarted my Tecra M9 and suddenly I get this error 0x000007B blue screen. I looked and there seems to be a problem with Windows that is could not find a bootable device. I tried to use a WinXP SP2 cd to repair the system, but it is said that it does not find the HARD drive. Now, I tried a few linux live CD and they see the HARD drive and the info on it.

What can I do? Do I need to install a specific HARD drive driver?

    Thank you, a.

    Hello

Enter the BIOS settings and set it to default settings. After doing this delivered use recovery media and install the operating system. When finished, I'm sure that you'll be able to reuse the laptop.

Thanks Zest2learn.  Because I had the problem, Microsoft has uploaded a number of updates.

I think that one of these updates solve the problem.

  • How to fix this error: "MPT Boot ROM - no device found!"

Ideas: my IBM Intellistation Z Pro 6221 boot from IDE hard drive. Error message "MPT Boot ROM - no deices found!" error message is displayed. Machine will start from a USCSI drive when it is connected. IDE drive is then recognized as drive D: to hard drive which does not physically OK. Normal order of BIOS. While that started from the drive SCSI Windows detects the IDE drive and after a reboot, I get a message that says that the ROM of the MPT Boot has been installed successfully. But when I disconnect the SCSI disk and then try to boot from the IDE, I again get the error "MPT Boot ROM - no device found!"

    Macz51,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  The ROM of the MPT Boot part of the SCSI controller.  So, when you disconnect the SCSI drive, you will get the error message.  If the SCSI controller is a card, you can remove it, and then check your BIOS settings to start the command and make sure that the BIOS sees your IDE drive.  If you have problems with the hardware being not recognized before it starts with Windows, then you will need to contact your OEM for support. • The event log shows event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1

Intermittent crashes. The event log shows event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1. How can I find this device? This is probably a hardware problem?

I look at intermittent crashes, where my cursor becomes an hourglass and the system does not yet meet the ctrl-alt-delete.  In the case of a newspaper, I find

Event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.

How can I determine which physical devices this is associated?  This indicates a hardware problem, or driver or firmware may be the source? The system has worked very well for a few years.  I'm not aware of any change in software that took place recently, although I have had by force, remove and reinstall iTunes earlier.

I run SMART on all players controls and run diagnostics.  I ran chkdsk on the one I found the culprit, but not mistakes.

Just in case it was a deadlock linked to memory, I tried to use the Diagnostics memory Microsoft on floppy, but it would not write on the disk (even if I could format and copy the files freely).

    Hello

Go to your configuration and see which drive is for each port; 1,2,3,4...

Then go to the Device Manager and look at how many SATA controller you have and how many ports for each, then start count from 0 to IdePort0, 1, 2, etc. for each SATA controller, so if you have 4 ports for each SATA controller, here is how you came from:

    IdePort0 1 -, 2 - IdePort1, 3 car - IdePort2 and road 4 - IdePort3 in the order of road by car

    I hope it helps

    Hi Jammyhorse,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of the PC?

    2. when the problem started?

    3. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

    Step 1:

You can check the following link and run the Fixit and see if helps solve the problem.

Diagnose and automatically repair audio playback problems

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/NO_SOUND/

    Also check out the link:

Tips for solving common audio problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/tips-for-fixing-common-sound-problems

    Step 2:

In the BIOS settings advanced, you can also check if the onboard sound is enabled.

You can see the manual of the system manufacturer or contact the system manufacturer for more information on how to make the changes in the BIOS.

Note: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • The driver has detected an error of the Comptroller on \Device\Ide\IdePort3

    Hello

I'll try to explain my problem as best as possible in chronological order then please bear with me.

    I have Windows 7 x 64.
So last week my PC have been freezing every two days. Sometimes every day. Black screen during the games, navigation or doing any activity. Each window has frozen, the screen went black. ctrl alt del did not work no response to any entry, the only option was to restart.

Once restarted, the system would freeze again almost immediately, and again after another reboot. Only solution was physically turn off the computer, turn off the power and wait.  After some time (5-10 min) I turn the power on and system worked very well.

I went to the observer of events and found "the pilot detected an error of the Comptroller on \Device\Ide\IdePort3." It took place in a series starting with a per minute, then after a few minutes, two or three that occur within one minute, the frequency of this error would be gradually go back even to 10 per minute and that's where the system would freeze.

Looking at the event viewer I thought, hold for a second I have 3 discs (Disk0 - new SSD, Disk1 - new HDD, Disk2 - old HDD) so maybe that ideport3 refers to the CDROM which I disconnected but the error has not disappeared.

Check the BIOS settings and deleted everything that had no boot from the internal storage (so: floppy USB - disk, CDROM,)-which did not help either.

In the Act of desperation, I unplugged my old disk (Disk2) for 6 days I have not known of IdePort3 errors and system will work very well.

After 6 days, to my embarrassment, error returned.
This is the story of the appearance of the error:

I bought the card mother-GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 3 years ago. There can be no IDE ports. It has 6 SATA ports.

Here an explanation somewhat losely formulated to work on the port that could be the culprit. Since you have 6 SATA ports, why not play the game of elimination with them?

  • How to solve 'error display driver - video playback device does not support playback of protected content?

This message started on my installation of windows 7 media center with the installation of tuner Cable Digital ati a few months.  I had the computer in my office with no monitor for a while and watched TV through my xbox on my samsung ln52b610.  so I decided to connect to the PC directly to the tv and now get this message saying 'error display driver - video playback device does not support playback of protected content'.  the strange thing is that if I go full screen, then new Media Center, here again, it seems to go away (most of the time).  my video card is a 8500gt nvidia with hdmi output and I tried the latest driver from them and still no worky.

  • My Event Viewer says ATAPI: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1

My computer (W7/64) sometimes fall to restart. I checked HD and the memory of Mrs. rescue disk - no error.
Event Viewer says ATAPI: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.
The fact is that the cd-rom drive is behaving oddly. Reads the DVD of film without problem, but does not read floppy disks to install Windows (good on an another two comps).
I therefore launched Verifier.exe and checked the other drivers. The result is dumpATA.sys is not running. (Is BTW not MS driver?).
How can I force to load this driver?

I checked the installation disc to compare the original version, boot.win opened, but the pilot is nowhere. Where did it come from?
So I recorded the dump file, but the analysis of what this file is beyond my capabilities.

You could any body help me to find the source of my problem?

It seems to intimate that it's a hardware problem rather than a driver. You say that you are having problems with the optical drive. If you log out, you still have problems to restart or boot?

This probably isn't a memory problem, but a better method of verification, it is with Memtest86 + http://www.memtest.org/#downiso>
Download the ISO and then create a CD with it and boot from it. If you have more than one piece of RAM, pull all but one test, then close, replace it with another and test, etc. I find it a little faster than the test at a time.

PS. I have download the latest Direct X and my graphics card is Intel

Have you looked in dxdiag (Direct X Diagnostic tool) to find the make and model
    as suggested above?

You go to the site notebookcheck and read the review of your laptop?

"Btw im only 14 so I understand really all this other info and stuff."

I assume you mean that you don't really understand. That's ok. You are
never too young to learn. Just like @ 66 I'm supposed to be too old to learn
on PC and in particular - ;) game. In fact - lol - most people think that you
need to know more than me! ROFL

First of all - you don't have a graphics card. Intel uses only "Integrated" graphics
VRAM video RAM =. Video RAM is a special RAM have this graphics card
much and the integrated graphics (chips on the motherboard or a part
the recent Intel CPUs - AKA cpu) - do not have much of.

Without knowing what version of the Intel HD graphics card your laptop has there
no way to know if he can run the game, but the error message-
"no compatible 3D device" pretty much everything says, unless you have not installed 'drivers' for your graphics card (Drivers are software that instructs the graphics processor how to process the data of the game) in which case you can still get chance once the drivers are isntalled, or update to a new version.

Try the USB device on another computer.  If you get the same error in another computer, then the unit has probably missed and the files that it contains are lost.

The system works fine, no freezes or crashes, but I would like to know what is the cause, is it hardware or driver related?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Since you don't face any problem while working, the system works very well. The error in the log occurred due to the error of the driver in this case. But immediately, Windows is taking measures to restore the driver, so that the system works very well. The journal entry is just a notification. During the scan, the higher the use of the disc, so the number of failures is likely to increase. It occurs even in situations where there is a transfer of files.
  • Get error "this application does not work without Google play services"...!

    Hello

I use google maps in my application and be able to install the apk from file in the BB device. But after installation when launching the application, I get an error "this application does not work without Google play services.

How can I get google game services to the BlackBerry device.

    Kind regards

    NGO.

The BlackBerry Runtime for Android applications does not support Google Maps (or Google Services play). If your application uses Google Maps, there are two ways that you can support mapping in your application. One option is to replace the library card theGoogle with a WebView that integrates the web version of Google Maps.

For more information on this process, see using a WebView to view Google Maps.

Another option is to replace Google Maps with OpenStreetMap, which is a free card all over the world.

For more information on this process, see Replace Google Maps with OpenStreetMap.

  • Error when you try to play a DVD: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.

    copy a group of photos w/music (Smilebox program) on dvd;

After following the instructions of SMilebox to burn "images set to music" on DVD, to the attempt of DVD playback, I got following error message: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.  We live in the Washington area. I didn't know that DC was considered an unusual geographic region?

    Hey nongeekbetty,

The DVD is encoded for a different region. Most DVD readers only works with DVDs that are coded for the computer was purchased in the same region. So if you buy a DVD in one country and then try to play on one computer from another country this DVD could not play.

    Step 1:

Make sure that the DVD region is set to the appropriate region:

    a. Click Start.

    (b) in the search box, type Device Manager.

    c. right-click on the DVD drive.

    d. right-click on it and select Properties.

    e. make sure that the region will be resolved.

    Step 2:

Also temporarily disable User Account Control (UAC) and check it out.

Note: Activate it once you are done with the check.
