My problem is, that I give with the software Toshiba guard easily a password to start with 9 letters: "cjbasdahl." For safty, I write again the password. I do and write again, 'cjbasdahl '. The computer accepts the password because the first password is the same how the second password.

When I start (boot) the laptop will have a password with 8 (not 9) letters. I can't use the password 'cjbasdahl '. What can I do? I form the password coz when I boot the leng even as the password or not?

When I did find the password. What can I do?

Hello

The fact is that the BIOS password can be removed only by the service of Toshiba.
There is no need of a special procedure that can be done only by the service man.
There is no other way to make mobile accessible full

Hi - I recently updated day/flashed the BIOS of my T60 (2623-KFU) through windows by using the Setup files in the support section. I noticed the image of the characteristic changing BIOS boot and creates the Logo.Mod file that I have included in my BIOS flash. However, flashing it, I noticed that the Intel Logo (top-right) and the Lenovo Logo (right & Vertical) still exists and overlapped my custom image.

Is it possible to remove these logos so that I can have a clean design beautiful original appears at startup? I tried flashing back to nothing does not.

  • Satellite M30: How disable the BIOS boot password?

    Hello

Before my vacation, I activated the startup password in the Bios. Now I want to turn this off, but it does not work. In the Bios, I can go to the Security tab, but I can't change the settings with the F5/F6 key or space. A beep is all I get. Entering on this point, I wonder to set a new password.

Anyone know how to disable the password for a Satellite M30? Please note that I have not forgotten my password, I can always start the machine.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.

  • Earn money with the BIOS password?

    Hello

I have an Inspiron 640 m (same as e1405), and I put a BIOS password like two years ago, when I bought the machine. Now, I wanted to change something, and I don't remember the password. Now it is true that I myself am a morron to set a password and then forget, but to actually be forced to pay Dell a $ 36 just to have access to my own machine seems kind of evil.

So far I did not have many problems with Dell. There were a few problems when he left, but I didn't expect much for the price, and Dell has voluntarily replaced my broken keyboard while the machine was still under warranty.

But charge me money to give Master of passwords really scratch my head. What is the point of this policy? I'm going to buy a Dell again when I know that even for such a small, Dell will charge me if I'm not under warranty anymore? I do not. There is nothing broken on my lap top, there is nothing to replace. No, it is not yet a problem of software or any other problem that Dell would have to solve. I want just a check on my own camera, and I don't have it because of this policy.

In any case, I find it very disturbing Dell charge me for this. Oh and if she * really * has such a load of work that managers of the floor had to decide to start charging die like me to give Master of passwords, so why not just implement a webinterface for registered clients retrieve the password? Again, I have the original receipt, order numbers etc. for someone like me could just connect to their user account, enter the title and get the password. Not much. But no, I have to call the expensive telemarketing and pay $ 36 to get the password. Oh and the people who buy the lap tops off eBay are extinct, even worse than me if they cannot provide proof of purchase. This whole business of BIOS locking does not prevent flight anyway. If a thief finds a machine, that it can't unlock, he can always sell it on eBay or trash.

    I am disappointed.

    Kind regards

    Carl.

"Yes, you paid for the protection and guarantee once, but he missed."

When I said that I already paid, I said that I paid for the complete system, including the hardware and software level, including the password that belongs to me and it should be bundled with the system or be freely accessible, for example through the online account. Lost password should not be treated as a case of warranty as noted previously, because there is nothing wrong with the machine, or hardware or software. I am missing just a password which is part of the software on my machine, I paid when I bought it.

    dgkpcon
Remember, when a warranty runs out, that's all. And the software is attatched to such a system has expired.

I agree that you can always see all kinds of service strictly as a compliance to a contract. A contract, such that given warranty on one or three years or any other period of time. Then, when the time runs out, the seller of the product, in this case Dell, has no obligation whatsoever to give free support. I can still say however (again, leaving only the made the master password belongs to me, and that I should get it for free because I paid for my machine with the protection of password part of it) that's not very friendly Dell charges $ 36 for a simple question like that. It's all simply do not trust to Dell as a reliable and friendly company, while doing exactly the opposite. At least, it seems greedy money charge for a question like this. Of course, you can buy anything with money, but Dell is clearly lacking chances with the questions exactly like this, where sums of money are charged, which are very little to a giant like Dell, still a lot for a single client. If Dell could give the password for me for free, I would tell my friends, their recommendation to buy Dell hardware and experience with Dell is especially a nice. As it was, however, charged $ 36 for a false problem, I feel like Dell is trying to squeeze every last penny out of their customers.

I must admit, the market is not the same as 10 years, where Dell was famous for the good support and build quality of material. Everything must be cheap, competition is strong, and Yes, every penny counts. But this is no reason for customers offend with this kind of service charges when there is in fact no need for service.

I need not any service, I want to just my master password.

These certainly of 36 dollars are a greater loss in brand image, to a profit in money.

    Hi Dominic,

Are you able to get into BIOS to make changes?

If so, you can try to reset the default settings of the BIOS and check.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

You can also try to remove all external usb devices that can be connected to the system and start-up and see if the system boots.

I got a X 60 original "2510' with 2Gig Ram and 80gig HDD.  Since I've upgraded to the Bios V2.18 the start in the menu right spot icon lower does not exactly reflect the remaining autonomy statute.

Sometimes when I start my PC I have a black screen with the Windows boot manager at the top.  Although there are several options available, that nothing happens no matter what keys I hit and the only option is to shut down the computer and restart completely.  Sometimes the Boot Manager page turns and my office sometimes opens fine.  I've updated with everything Microsoft has Windows Vista and I still get this screen.  Anyone has any ideas.

Do a startup repair and see if that fixes it:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Tecra M10 - stuck - CTRL key question may be to do with the BIOS?

    Hello and thanks for reading.

I recently changed my Tecra M10 to Windows 7 (from XP), and it quickly developed the dreaded question-button stuck CTRL This causes the keyboard behaves as if the CTRL key is pressed continuously. Sometimes reaching a key combination, or bring up the on-screen keyboard, temporarily solves the problem, but he returned.

It seems to be a problem that many people have no simple solution. I watched each thread that I find and tried a lot of things to do with drivers etc without success.

So first of all, if anyone knows a remedy that works for this particular machine, I would be very grateful to hear!

Then, there are two things that I did not yet: updating the BIOS and turn off pinch zoom.

I was watching the following BIOS update:

    http://www.Toshiba-Asia.com/SG/support/drivers/details/25244

... which is the version 3.00 and seem to be more recent. My version is 1.90.

However, version 3.00 is labeled "for PTMB0 * ONLY. I don't know what that means or if it applies to me. Can anyone help? Should I install this BIOS?

For the pinch zoom, I was informed that disable sometimes cures the problem CTRL - but I can't find any installation zoom pinch on the M10. I think he doesn't have any one. Is this fair?

Thanks much for any help you can give.

    Hello

    > I was watching the next BIOS update. is the version 3.00, which seems to be most recent. My version is 1.90.

There are different Tecra M10 models on the market.
Check the labels at the bottom of the unit. There you should find numbers like for example PTMB0E-01K00LGR

The first 6 characters are important: for example PTMB0E

I guess that your laptop belongs to the series of Europeans.
In this case, you should check the page of the Toshiba UE driver for a possible update of the BIOS.
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

However, on the page of the Toshiba UE driver you will also find the BIOS for all European units Tecra M10 v3.0.

Anyway, back to Ctrl + button question: guess what, you need to connect an external USB keyboard and must check how is the CTRL key.
In case the USB keyboard would work properly, the internal keyboard CTRL key is assigned and you will need to replace the internal keyboard.

PS: it would be possible that the "sticky keys" option has been activated. To disable this feature, you must press SHIFT 5 times in the line.

  • Tecra M5: Are there special precautions with the Bios upgrade?

Are there special precautions he takes while uprading BIOS. I'm just afraid because both failover system report people after the upgrade, is it true?

    Hello

Of course you need a few special steps if you want to update the BIOS!
The update of the BIOS is risky! If you use the bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure, you may damage the motherboard or module ROM BIOS!
This is why you should always read the details of upgrading the BIOS before you start the update.

Finally and above all many people update the BIOS without any reason. That s is really stupid.
In my opinion you should not update anything if you have no problems!
Therefore, never change a running system ;)

  • Z620: need help with the difference ("boot") of ssd pci-e cards and pci-e (BIOS) nand

    Hello

I intend to buy a card pci-express ssd for access/faster transfer, and I read the topics concerning the problem of booting from that ssd, but still did not understand much to be honest.

what I noticed, is that HP620 should work with older (like turbodrive Z), but not the based NAND, new Z turbodrive G2,.

or only with a few tricks.

    now to my question.

Some people say, this new nand ssd pci - e cards require a boot uefi bios and a few options, I do not understand.

as I have a regular bios (not), is it true that you cannot boot from these new ssd expansion slot, or are there tricks like the passage to the AHCI and a few other options in the bios?

If this is not possible, I'd be limited to regular use SATA ssd, limited to 500 MB/s of bandwidth, right?

    Thanks for any help

    Found this info on the web;

"There are actually two versions of the player. The original version uses the familiar AHCI Protocol, while a new variant is the NVM Express standard. The model of the AHCI is compatible with a wide range of motherboards and available among a wider selection of suppliers. »

The version of NVMe is also supposed to be faster, but in reality, it is not much of a difference.

I think that you need a motherboard with a socket m2 is to see a real difference in speed compared to the old version of AHCI.

I understand that it is only the most recent Zx40 HP series range that supports readers NVMe but not sure 100%. It would certainly be a challenge trying to get one to work in a series of Zx20 HZ.
