Tecra S2: strange dots on the screen that appears without reason and randomly

Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra S2 for almost a year now.
I formatted 2 months ago and when I did it. I had strange spots on my screen, appearing without reason and at random. I have not the slightest idea where it came from and I tried to format my computer again.
I installed the latest driver chipset on the site of intel, and then I installed the latest driver on the toshiba site.

I noticed that the problem is back. so that solves nothing. What can I do about it?

PS, not only the points, but I can't play too.

HI Jelle,

When you say that you have formatted your laptop, you completely re - install the operating system from the recovery discs? If you did then the display should work fine.

If you have installed the Microsoft disk operating system, you will need to download the correct drivers from Toshiba for your Tecra from Toshiba download page web site.

Kind regards

    Hello

    You did changes to the computer before the show?

    This occurs generally when display drivers is corrupted. We will start the computer in safe mode and check with the question.

    Method 1:

    Start the computer to activate the video mode low resolution, and then test to see if the problem persists. To do this, follow the steps below:

    Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. Boot advanced options, select the menu Activate video mode low resolution.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

    Method 2:

    If the screen works fine mode low resolution. I suggest to turn off the graphics card and start normal check with the question.

    a. right click on my computerand then click Properties.

    b. click on the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

    To view a list of the network cards installed, expand display cards. Click to locate the video card, then turn off the device.

    Hello

    Then if I try to reboot it works, but not normal; still have a small scratches and dots on the screen.
    I checked it on the Device Manager NVIDIA GForce with a yellow mark.
    I tried to uninstall it but nothings happened.

    Please some body help me what to do in this case?

    And if you have to replace the VGA CARD, is it possible to upgrade? and what (NVIDIAGforce) parts are compatible for my laptop (RAM memory upgraded 4 GB 320 GB hard drive and windows 7 Home premium)

    Thank you

    Hello

    Have you tried to install or update the display driver?
    Please check this because the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager may mean that the display driver is missing and so the graphics card does not work properly.

    Otherwise, it could be a GPU problem.
    This can be tested easily; connect an external monitor and check if the same stripes, points would be visible on the monitor that is eternal.

    If Yes, then it s certainly a GPU problem.
    In this case, only the replacement of the motherboard might help.
    Also, upgrade is not possible.

  • Satellite M50-266 - strange scratches on the screen

    Hey,.

    After 4 weeks of inactivity, I turned on my Satellite M50 - 226 (bought in May 2006) and saw some strange scratches on the screen. I have a built-in ATI Radeon X 600. Already I have updated all drivers, while ATI Catalyst does not recognize the graphics card. So I tried the Omega drivers alternative, which does not help somehow.

    Please see a screenshot here: http://designest.de/exchange/m50-226.png

    I thought, it is clear that the graphics card is broken.

    What do you think, is there an (easy) way to fix?

    Thanks for the tips,

    Mike

    This problem is the reason why you use the Toshiba drivers no.
    ATI drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop.

    Then uninstall all drivers Toshiba no and download the latest directly from Toshiba:

  • How can I get rid of the white stripes at the top of the screen that covers navagation bar?

    When I opened Firefix, there is a (sometimes blue) white stripe at the top of the screen that hides the navigation bar. I can't intervene except search because I can't click on the arrow invisible return, bookmarks, reduce or close the screen. I have to close the browser by right click on the Firefox icon in the task bar and click Close.

    First of all, could check you that Firefox is not full screen mode: by pressing the F11 key usually toggle between normal view and full screen. In addition, full screen, drag the pointer of the mouse to the top must cause the toolbar area to slide down. Then you can right click on an empty area of the tab bar (or the button '+' on the tab bar) and choose the output runs full screen in the context menu.

    Could test you mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

    Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

    If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules - try pressing Alt + h and then the letter r to trigger this command

    and OK reboot.

    Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

    Any improvement?

  • computer is stuck in the screen that lets you choose Safe mode or start normally

    Original title: stuck

    My computer is stuck in the screen that lets you choose Safe mode or start normally. When I choose that it just goes back to the same screen. stuck in this screen

    If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

    Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

    The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

    If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
    Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
    Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

    You need to choose in this menu is the option:

    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

    If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

    If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

    You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

    If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

    Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

    Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

    Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

    If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

    Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

    Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

    Two ways:

    (1) by design, as it has always been with all versions of Windows, press copy the entire screen, including the wallpaper desktop, in the Clipboard (iow, in RAM).  By pressing + of only copies the active window to the Clipboard.  To view the screenshot, open a graphics program, such as MS Paint and press + V.  This will paste the contents of the Clipboard (your screenshot) in the file open and allows you to view or save it as a file for later use.

    Troubleshooting of Windows Sidebar

    When I click on 'Add gadgets' in my sidebar, the screen that shows all the pop, but all the gadgets disappear immediately, so I can't click or select one of them.  If this has never happened before, and what do I do?

    Hello

    If you use Start - type in search-> Sidebar box should still be crash - there may be a Gadget that causes
    the accident that you can help out if you can get it to run by turning off then restart in a process of elimination.

    You are using a version of Vista 64 bit that has gadget support the 32-bit and 64-bit files? If so, you will need to

  • On NEW laptop keyboard does not work after that the screen keyboard has been activated and then deactivated.

    Look at my friend got a new laptop and went through the whole upward. the on-screen keyboard has been activated which invalidates the real keyboard when the on-screen keyboard has been disabled the real keyboard has NO return. If this is a bug... Fix it. This is not a driver issue, it is not a user error. Stop giving people answers, trying to pretend like it's not not the OS when most people already know that it is.

    I'm sorry, but I didn't not new meant only one day.  And when I got my new laptop, one of the first things I did was to create a point of files, even a day later I had a restore to use - point and that was possible here as well.  I'm sorry it wasn't the case.

    If the system restore option is not available, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

    If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

    If this does not work, you can try to go into the BIOS during the startup (the key appropriate to push appear on the screen to enter the boot menu or boot installation - try them both in turn if both appear. It is possible that the BIOS contains an option to disable the keyboard (which may have been activated by the keyboard on the screen but not changed when disable you the on-screen keyboard) and you may need to re-enable manually.  There is a slight possibility, but it is an option to try.

    Another option to try is to set up a new user account that has never used the keyboard on the screen and see if the regular keyboard works when you connect to this account.  If so, you can simply treat the original as a corrupt account account and use the following procedures to complete the transfer.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

    I hope that one of these aid procedures.  I'm sorry if they seem to 'generic', but we do not really know what is the problem - especially since the system is new.  We try and identify the cause and fix the problem at the same time using the procedures available to us.  I suspect there's a registry tweak will correct this problem, but I went through the whole registry, and although I found several referencers keyboard, I could find no which seemed to control or not activate the main laptop keyboard (though it has been in one of the entries that has been encoded in binary that I couldn't read).  It's possible someone who knows more about the registry will respond to this issue with a proposal to amend (or perhaps another solution).

    I hope that one of the solutions I proposed works.  Please post back in all cases we will know whether or not to continue searching for an answer.

    Good luck!

  • ScrollBar not appearing in the screen that extends from screen

    I'm trying to find a way to put a section not scrolling at the top of a screen that extends from my screen applications.

    final ListScreen class extends ListFieldCallback implements screen
    {

    private ListField _itemListField;
    private LabelField listHeader.

    public ListScreen()
    {

    newScreen = new MainScreen(MainScreen.NO_VERTICAL_SCROLL |) Manager.HORIZONTAL_SCROLL);

    in the example

    HorizontalFieldManager columnHeadingHolder = new HorizontalFieldManager (HorizontalFieldManager.NO_HORIZONTAL_SCROLL
    | HorizontalFieldManager.NO_VERTICAL_SCROLL | HorizontalFieldManager.USE_ALL_WIDTH);

    columnHeadingHolder.add (listHeader);

    DataScroller VerticalFieldManager = new VerticalFieldManager (VerticalFieldManager.VERTICAL_SCROLL
    | VerticalFieldManager.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR);

    dataScroller.add (_itemListField);
    }

    }

    The problem I have is the screen is white but if I click on the wheel the menu and when I close the screen menu appears finally.

    Tried several methods to extend the screen but can't get right.

    You can still use setTitle.  Instead of adding a field, add a handler with your inside headers.

    This works very well for me, but there is a "border" between the title area and the portion of scroll, which varies according to the level of the BONE, and you might not like the look of it.

    If this does not work, then one way I know is to add a fixed height of VerticalFieldManager to the main part of the screen - with the height set so that it fills the part of the screen that you left your title and headers.  But when I played round with it, I can't scroll bars to appear.  Probably something Style that I've not set correctly.  The following are examples which limits the height to a maximum of 3 lines.  This code only works for a line of fields as I'm sure that you number from the code.

    VerticalFieldManager vfm = new VerticalFieldManager(Manager.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR | Manager.VERTICAL_SCROLL) {
        int maxHeight = this.getFont().getHeight() * 3;
        public int getPreferredHeight() {
            return this.getFont().getHeight() * this.getFieldCount();
        }
        protected void sublayout(int width, int height){
            super.sublayout(width, height);
            setExtent(width, Math.min(maxHeight, this.getPreferredHeight()));
        }
    };

    I recently used a dvd + rw disk to back up my photos. Now when I put a dvd in my pc, why it will not display on the screen that's all there is, or how to give me access to it?

    Depends on what you used for the backup.

    If you used the windows backup or another backup software will contain the entire disk will be a backup file, and view/use this file, you use the same software that allows you to save.

  • Can anyone tell how I can configure the desktop as the default screen that appears when I connect to Win 8?

    Original title: Desktop

    Can anyone tell how I can configure the desktop as the default screen that appears when I connect to Win 8 rather than having to go from the first layer redundant 'start-up '.

    In fact, if anyone can tell if there's a free windback to an earlier version of Windows (7) who has not all layers unnecessary and icons, I would be really grateful

    Your best bet is to switch to 8.1, that allows you to boot directly to the desktop, and then use a menu like debut8 to replace the old Start Menu and hide the side of the metro.

    If your computer comes with Win Pro 8, you may be able to demotion, otherwise, you will need to buy 7. Before you buy 7, I would recommend go to the computer manufacturer's website and see if there are any Windows 7 drivers for your computer. You may lose certain functions - sound, network, video full resolution - if there is no driver.

    The first option is easy and allows you to keep the improvements in performance and safety 8.
