Tecra S3 Windows Explorer crashes on copying files and other actions

Tecra S3 Windows Explorer crashes frequently on the copy of files and other actions. In the system event log, you find the event ID 26 Application Popup Explorer.exe Application error problem (in Dutch: Toepassingsfout) read write memory error.

Start the Softex Omnipass Service service. Change the startup type to automatic. The problem will not happen again. You don't have to use this application after the service started.

Hello

Unfortunately, this path is not easy to say anything because, who know what did you do with OS and how is your personal configuration. If this problem occurs because some time roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool.

Also check this page useful http://www.helpwithwindows.com/techfiles/explorer-crashes.html maybe you'll find some answers there.

I tried to reboot (har har) and even in safe mode, what happens.  I tried to go to a system restore, but it tells me that the System Restore Wizard is already running when it is obviously not.  I don't really know what I can do at this point, that the only thing that stops it is the cancellation of the application of Solution Explorer, but then I can't access anything that anyone else.  If only I could get the icons on my desktop, I could solve the problem with the videos, but I can't even get to them to get rid of them.

  • When you use Windows Explorer to view the files and folders, the thumbnails of image files appear briefly then are replaced with the default icon of the image file. I tried the answers to similar problems, but none worked.

Browse the folders with image files, I cannot see the thumbnail icons for images correctly.  I know, it should be possible, but I can't do it.

When I first open a folder in Explorer, I see the correct images for a fraction of a second, then all images are replaced by the thumbnail of the image file (which looks like part of a digital SLR).
I put all folders to display picture to display the preview and the filter, and the "always show icons never thumbnails" is not checked.  Display file icon "on the photos' is unchecked (I tried checking, too, without change).  I also deleted the thumbnails using disk cleanup as suggested on another question, but which did not allow them.
The result is that, if I want to open an image for editing or downloading, I have to use a third-party application (for example, Pentax Photo Browser) to preview images, and then return to the Explorer window to select the correct file by name. Don't try to difficulty of these things that are not broken.

    izzlecrate,
You might want to try it and I just did this procedure myself a moment ago and surprising, it worked!  First of all I must tell you that I have Windows Vista, but the information I got was for Windows 7 and it worked.

First: You must create a NEW FOLDER and put it on your desktop.
Second: Move or copy the contents of the original file in the NEW FOLDER on the desktop. I copied the content, just in case something went wrong.
Third: After that is finished and all the contents are inside you.
Fourth: On the desktop right click on the folder and click Properties at the bottom of the box.
Fifth: Click Customize tab at the top and then the Middle click on DEFAULT settings for the folder.  Click on apply to, click OK and your done

NOW! You can move the folder wherever you want by drag-and - drop the folder and when it's done and that's the best part, you should see the thumbnails of the folder on the EDGE of the folder that you just created.  It worked for me and I hope it works for you.
I have 10 years of experience with my computer and have troubleshooted my friends for viruses and other computer problems successfully.  I'm advanced computer user.

That this is done, it restores the folder its original settings.  Good luck! Rick

  • Windows 7 Explorer crashes to copy the files from a browser to another Explorer

I have a Dell laptop under Windows 7 Home Premium. I had recently opened (2) Windows explorers with the intention to copy some photos recently taken from my camera USB attached in a solutions Explorer to another Explorer. I slipped and fell, copied and pasted and in both cases, Windows Explorer crashes immediately after that I have drop or paste files in Explorer 2nd. I restarted twice but no change. I've been using this method of moving files from this camera and another camera for quite some time without error or incident so what changed, and more importantly, how can I fix it?

Your timely help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

    Hello

    ·         You did changes to the computer before the show?

    ·         This only happens with photo transfer or any other files also?

Method 1: Run the SFC scan and check if it solves the problem:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2:  Start in safe mode and check if the problem persists:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If the problem does not persist in safe mode then, I suggest that you put the computer to boot and make sure that the software or conflicting drivers:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Place the computer to normal startup by following step 7 from the link above.

Method 3: I also suggest you create a new user account and check to see if it helps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

  • Windows Explorer crashes when you open any folder with MPEG2 files.

WinXP SP3 - When you open any folder with MPEG2 files, windows Explorer crashes. If the folder contains only the MPEG1 files, it opens without a problem. We first thought it was a problem of media player, but we can not even click on a file to open it in media player.

    Hi kathyd,.

    ·        You did changes to the computer before this problem started?

Since we do not know what is causing this problem, I'd suggest unanimous the event viewer on your computer and check the details in the window logs messages/error codes important related to the question, during the time where this problem occurs and after return.

Event logs can help you identify and diagnose the source of current system problems or help you predict potential system problems.

Access the link below to learn how to view and manage the event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/event_overview_01.mspx?mfr=true

You can try to start both computers in safe mode and check if it can open the folder where the MPEG 2 files are stored and if windows Explorer crashes. To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start in safe mode select and press to enter.

I hope this helps. Post back with the required information.

  • My Windows Explorer crashes

Whenever I open a folder in any drive, I get a message saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then it just restarts.

I saw a few responses, including the copy of the files, but that does not work for me as it crashes before I have to copy anything.

If Windows Explorer crashes, you usually have something installed as codecs or something that is not compatible (everything you have installed may have added some options to the context menu in windows Explorer). IE: when you right-click on a file that is the context menu
I would use something like ccleaner (since you can disable things from the context menu). Through tools / boot / menu. Enable / disable each on your system to see which may have caused the crash

I use Windows xp. In Windows Explorer. A dated file say 12/02/2000. When you click the folder, the files in the folder bear different date. Why is it so. To update the files, we should see the dates of the files instead of the dates of the folder. right? Why is there such a difference?

My copy of Windows XP works the same as yours.  Apparently the date folder is not updated when the content is, that fact make some sense as the folder itself is not updated when new content is created in the it.

    Windows XP service Pack 3

If you have SP3 installed, you also installed KB938828.

You can read here all the things that are included when you install SP3 (including this update), so you shouldn't have to install again.

If you get the DEP errors, I suspect a third party extension of the Explorer.  If someone offers you make an exception to DEP for Explorer, this is the wrong idea.

DEP errors occur when XP shuts down an application because she feels threatened by the latter.  XP should never feel threatened by his own substance - like Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer.  If XP gives you an error DEP of one of these applications, something is wrong with them and the best thing to do is to understand what the problem is and fix it (or I guess you can just start to try things and maybe get lucky).

Also, we are not a 'thing' on your system, what makes blind troubleshooting especially a roll of the dice.

But, let's see how you go with this idea of clean boot and optimization of the Microsoft Support Engineer and you can check if this may help.

  • Windows Explorer hangs opening a file in a folder

This problem has bugged me with Vista from day one: I opened a folder to get a set of folders inside the office.  I clicked on the file I want, it opens, then the monitor goes pale as if it was locked to the top-no response.  Vista says it checks for the problem so Explorer restarts.  This will also happen occasionally with records that I don't create (like desktop).

NO application does not work.  The CPU usage is 98% the system idle process (if I have the Task Manager open first).  I can't stop everything in the background, and it still happens.

I guess that's one of the issues corrected with Windows 7, but I'm not getting free.  I may as well buy a NEW laptop instead of installing Win 7 on a Virgin but 3 year machine, or the loss of all of the programs I have installed (I know, "only potentially ") or who have need to reinstall and update each other, losing Windows programs is no longer included (I lost Chess Titans for Vista to crash and cannot get it back so what is thrown for Win 7?) etc.

Sorry if I look bored, but I am.  I won't say the word of 3 letters "M" here, but I'm about to consider home.

I know that this topic is old... but here's how I fixed it same problem guys...

I have my own website where I post my collection of baseball cards... anyway I made me a new PC and I put all my files on a backup hard drive... When I installed Vista on my new PC, I then moved my files back to my new PC... Well, I got hurt in one of my folders to open Ditto... so I used filezilla, I use to transfer the files and others on my site... well filezilla let me open the folder and inside I saw where I had created a 'God Mode' for windows Quick Launch folder and for some reason when I backed up my old PC that placed in the folder with my personal stuff and this caused my problem... so I removed it inside the app of filezilla and it I want to open my account now and saved all my pictures and videos I had saved inside this folder and my theme of site Web etc... I guess maybe if you have this problem, what I'm saying, is to use a 3rd party app to see if you can view the files inside and maybe determine the cause of this issue, do not open and if not perhaps important, you can delete and see what happens! Good luck.. just a thought, it worked for me but for all the world situation can be different!

  • Windows Explorer crashes failed msvcr90.dll

    Friends

I have this most annoying problem. It happens on my computer and the computer of a friend. I have Vista Pro 64 bit and my friend a Windows 7 Home Premium, also 64-bit.

We both use the same two programs for a specific project, we want to do. A program is a data management program called FieldWorks, where export us the data in the format of LibreOffice. I think that this problem started during the installation of LibreOffice and then begins to export stuff in the program of FieldWorks.

Very often, when we click on an exported file in .odt (LibreOffice) on the desktop, or simply click anywhere in a folder on the desktop, where we store .odt files, then immediately the Windows Explorer crashes with the following error message:

Explorer Windows has stopped working. Windows can check online... Check online... The details of the problem are:

Problem signature: problem event name: BEX64 Application name: the Explorer.EXE Application Version: 6.0.6002.18005 timestamp of the Application: 49e02a1e fault Module name: MSVCR90.dll fault Module Version: 9.0.30729.6161 fault Module Timestamp: 4dace4e7 Exception offset: Code of Exception 00000000000552d 4: c0000417 data exception: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.6 locale ID: 1033 additional information 1: complementary 46e0 2 information: information additional 4ce498f1e2ebb3719af008d4ef97bedc 3 : 7 d 05 additional information 4: 729ac305dabb24e28fbe99019ecbbab7
Also my friend and I get the exact same message and the same fault Module name and version. It can happen several times in a row, insofar as we cannot get to any of the .odt files in the folder via the Windows Eplorer window or desktop, but I got a remove the .odt file in a command window.  Otherwise just Explorer to crash. :-(

I tried many things to fix this, among them:
    1. I re-entered the msvcr90.dll
    2. I learned that it is the program of MS Visual C++ 2008 that installs this msvcr90.dll and use it
    3. I removed all instances of MS Visual CC ++ Vista computer
    4. I removed all instances of the msvcr90.dll and restarted. Then I made sure that no file with this name has appeared again.
    5. even after that I still get this crash explore with this error message about this being the fault module msvcr90.dll!
    6. I used Windows find defective or missing files, sfc scannow. No gain.

How this possible error, if there is no msvcr90.dll is left on the system? And no Visual C++ 2008?

I then tried to reinstall MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable to see if that helped, but once again no change. :-( The same error came once again. This version of Visual C++ have not yet installed a version of msvcr90.dll but a msvrc100_XXX.dll

Until I deleted the MS Visual C++ 2008 (and 2005 and 2010) of my system, I noticed that the existing msvcr90.dll was not even the same version that says that this error report is the version of the Module of fault!

I am quite at a loss here. What can I do to solve this problem, which is annoying and time consuming? I could send one .odt files, someone at Microsoft to look at, or what?

    Thank you

    Go to the following folder:

In this folder, right-click and rename the shlxthdl_x64.dll to shlxthdl_x64.old.

When you open the video files that display thumbnails, the codec is used to create the thumbnail for the videos it decodes. A work around for this is to change the display of files of other tiles. You can try to reinstall your codecs or download other codecs, do a google search and download only from trusted sites. You might have added new video file formats, and you need the codec for this video format.
