TEMP folder is larger than the hard disk

I have a couple of files ("CR_279B.tmp" and "chrome_12004") in my Temp folder which are very large, for a total of 121 GB, despite my hard drive only being 35 GB. All folders and files in these folders have strange symbols in names and file types. None of the types of files are the same. All dates are different and up to 70 years in the future. I can't delete these folders or files. When I try to get one of the two error messages: "cannot delete the file: cannot read from the source file or a disk." or "cannot delete [weird file name]: the file name, directory name or vollume label syntax is incorrect."

I was wondering if it was something to do with Google Chrome, so I uninstalled it, but it made no difference. There are other files with similar names but they seem much more normal. The relevant files were apparently created 2 days at 23:56.

Can someone help me find a way to delete these files and/or determine their origin.

Thank you very much

First, do a system restore point and back up all your important data on an external support to protect against something going wrong.  If you have a backup image program, run it to backup the entire disk.

Then run chkdsk to check and correct the errors on the disk.

If the problem folders are still there, open a command prompt window, navigate to the temp folder and enter these commands to remove:

RD/s CR_279B.tmp
RD/s chrome_12004

    Hello

MySafe seems to be a 3rd third party tool. Has nothing to do with Toshiba.
    Ubuntu is also not supported.

However, in my opinion, you installed MySafe to access these files
Without MySafe installed, you will not be able to recover the files secured by MySafe.

  • VMware Workstation is unable to open one of the virtual disks required by this virtual machine because it is larger than the maximum file size supported by the host file system.

I'm transitioning from Windows XP (64-bit) on a new computer with Windows 7 installed.  I undertook to VMWare Workstation 6 7.0.1 in the process.  The problem is with a very large RAID 5 volume on the new system.  It's a score of 5.45 TB (TPG and NTFS).

When I try to start a virtual machine on this volume, I get the message "VMware Workstation cannot open one of the virtual disks required by this virtual machine because it is larger than the maximum size of the files supported by the host file system.".  This is obviously not true.  If I copy the virtual machine to another drive on the system, it starts without a problem.

Anyone have any ideas on how to work around this problem?

I am at a loss for trying to create a project using Adobe Encore.  I tried initially to the author of the project using the CS2 version.  When you try to export, I received the following message is displayed:

"The size of the estimated value of the project is larger than the chosen target support.  While it is an estimate, the project may not build. »

The project itself has a menu, a motion menu, and a single video file.  The video file 152 last minute, and I was trying to export that to a double layer DVD.  I tried from the file using CS5.5 Adobe Premier export using a variety of parameters.  I'm trying to export it to a file DVD-2, with the attributes of soure game being the highest value.  The parameter on the main concept MPEG encoder is set to 5. I tried to export the file by using the constant and variable bitrates.

When I recently exported the file using a contant 6.5 sampling rate, I still 650,4 Mo still remaining on my project.  I still received the same error message on the size of the project, and so I think that something is wrong.

    Thank you

    Dave

You have the Intel 855 chipset. In order to launch a hard drive larger than 137 GB, you need help for 48-bit Large Block Addressing in the chipset, BIOS and operating system. I find contradictory information on the ability of the chipset 855 doing of 48bits LBA. I also wonder if ever taken HP worth of produce a BIOS that would make 48 bit LBA in this model being the biggest hard drive offered 60 gigs. In other words, I think you should assume 120 GB is size max hard drive you can use and the only way I can think to prove otherwise is to buy the largest disk and install it. Windows XP Sp1a and superior does not large drives.

  • Why the HARD disk is partitioned into C & D on Satellite Pro C partition

Why the HARD drive is divided and how to use it?

It is important that the one that I use?

    Thanks for any help

    Ken

    Hello

The HARD disk is partitioned and contains two partitions. The C partition is the system partition that contains the Windows operating system. The second D partition contains data drive HARD recovery.
HARD drive recovery allows you to establish the notebook back to factory settings without the recovery disk usage.

But it s is strongly recommended to create the recovery disk! The user manual provides the info on that in case something goes wrong with the HARD drive, the recovery disk allows you to recover the laptop.

Of course, you can delete the D partition if you want to, but before doing so, you must create the recovery disk.

However, my HARD drive contains 3 partitions. I created an extra. In my case, the C partition contains only system and the unique software. My files private like Mp3, movies, etc. are placed on the D second partition).
The third partition (E) contains a folder with games.

  • bad sectors on the hard disk, can't find programs or files

Has worked on my Toshiba laptop and all of a sudden I got these error messages from Windows on bad sectors, cannot find the files...

Well, I am unable to find programs or files... well explore works and it seem like windows must work because the computer starts.  I have

did a scan of spybots and of course we found a few things but that's all.

I had to start a new user account in order to have access to my hard drive and be able to do some repairs... He showed sound quite complete but unable to show all files or these.

Tried a restore back a week, but it did not work.  A check on the hard disk and say he can do so that the system is in use.  I have nothing running!

Don't know what to do next... any suggestions

Thank you for posting a copy of a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

  • access all information on the hard disk for all users.

I tried to set up a link today from my new laptop computer Windows 7 my most top of desktop running vista.  The liaison program stated that the administrator on my old computer was only a temporary user.  I tried to set up the account as a permanent user without realizing that it would replace the current account.  I have now no access to programs from hard drive of the main user I was using.  I was wondering if there is anything I can do to access the hard disk with this user and import files?  I forgot almost all programs appear on the computer but open to anything.

    Hi kismet.

    1. What do you mean by link program?

    2. What have you tried to do?

    3. how many accounts do you currently on the computer and what are they?

    4. what happens when you try to access the files on the hard drive?

It seems that you do not have permissions to access the files on the hard drive.

I suggest that take you the files and folder try to access.

To take ownership of a folder

    (a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

    (b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    (c) click on Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    (e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box Replace owner subcontainers and objects .

    (f) click OK.

  • T400 problem booting from the hard disk, blinking cursor on the top left corner of the screen

I have problems with T400 (2765-TDG). He struggled with the Setup, which requires power 5 minutes/disable to propely operating system boot.

Computer laptop is less than two months, entirely properly the driver being up-to-date, then after that, nothing's been done about it to user or system administrator. Problem occurred suddenly after two weeks of mentioned maintenance.

    Symptoms:

    • After initialization of the mouse, screen goes black, and the upper left corner white cursor starts to Flash
    • There is no key keyb which can contine begin the process, wait for the reboot
    • There is no other device connected to the laptop, even mouse not
    • We have several, sometimes 3-4, sometimes even 10 times, to restart with the power button in order to get the boot of the operating system
    • When he is successful, just before the start of the operating system, the boot in diagnostic mode to start (with fast start disabled) I can hear only a single beep

    What I tried to do:

    • I changed the BIOS setting to force booting only from hard drive, cut off from any other starting device.
    • Also, changed from AHCI mode to compatibility for hard drive, but without help.
    • Turned off the coast of quick start, but during the startup process, there is no specific error indicated
    • Updated version of BIOS to 2.03 - 1.01 but with no help
    • Restored the default BIOS, no help

Done some diagnostics generals, and here is what I noticed:

    • After changing the settings in the BIOS, save & exit, the computer hangs with a black screen. I have to turn off and on in order to continue the initialization. The settings in the BIOS are registered correctly.
    • When I was able to boot into the operating system (XP), graphics card sometimes is not recognized, not even by the original driver installation. In Device Manager, I have two graphics card drivers recognized traffic sign with "Intel management engine interface" device with warning sign
    • In Event Viewer, and then only error line is "Problem with HECI driver communicating with firmware" or something like that
    • Operating system is not able to enter in standby mode, it justshows white screen and I have to turn off the laptop by pressing the off button longer

Any help appreciated. Thank you! I hope I can cope with this before I send laptop to the authorized service.

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.
