Temperature on laptops

Hello, I have a question. Just mobile HP15r071sw and I have a question for play on laptops. When it was played for example League of Legends, the temperature of the CPU and GPU is 70Celsius and sometimes higher and the main card is of about 65Celsius, is it normal that it is so high temp? I saw on the Intel site that the highest temperature for i54210 is 100Celsius, and is the cpu temp up broke or he can get exceeded profitability on the decline of the temp? And what is the best program to check the temperature of the laptop while playing a game? I use Advanced System Care for win8 at the moment but I don't know if he just checking.

Hi @Kiutsu

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand your concern regarding the temperature for your laptop. I'm happy to help you with this.

The first thing is that for the most part computers laptops and cell phones are designed to be game machines, with the exception of a few cases. The primary design concerns are to maximize the duration of portability and battery, while preserving the functionality as much as possible. Because of limited air flow and the limits of size and weight for managing heat, just because of the compact size that most people want, this means that the heat can be a greater concern than a desktop computer where these restrictions are not at stake. The end result is that if a user is running graphically intense applications or something similar which puts emphasis on the system, it is more likely to overheat.

For now, take a look at this and see if anything will help.  In general if I were to run games on your laptop for an extended period of time, I would where I could optimize what I need to keep cool.

Do you mean the temperature problem?
To be honest I don't see problems of temperature with this hybrid 2.5-inch solid state drive.

On the two screenshots the temperature seems very similar; 44 ° C and 48 ° C
You should know that it's disc hybrid SSD and peripheral temperature isn't associated with any write or read cycles.

I think that the 48 ° C is not too high and especially this temperature depends on the internal temperature for laptop which can be always different.

  • Portege M700 falls down after upgrading to Windows 7 32 bit

    Dear all,

My portege M700 laptop played most of the reliable time.
However, it was taken very slow sleep after a few iterations of sleep-wake, taking > 5 min.

I have now installed Windows 7 32-bit, which works very well. Has no problem with the release of sleep. However, on 1-2 times per day now, I get a message that Explorer crashed and must restart. About once a week, the system crashes completely with a blue screen of windows (without core). Most of the time, in seconds to the time that the screen freezes, I hear the fan switch on at full speed (much faster that it never runs normally) and the case becomes hot enough.

I installed the latest drivers for 32 bit Windows 7 on the site of Toshiba UK.

Can someone help me to diagnose the cause of these accidents?

    Thank you very much

    Chris.

    Hello

It is difficult to say what might cause this behavior strange system.
But you said something about the hot deal and fans begins to spin faster

It seems that the internal temperature of laptops increases to a higher level.
A higher temperature may affect the RAM modules and this could be the reason why the system hangs and does not answer.

What to say that you should check the Win 7 power management settings.
There are many options that could decrease the performance of the processor and increase the cooling.
In addition, you should check if the cooling fans are free of dust obstructed fans might not run properly and this would increase the temperature as well.

    Hope this helps you

My laptop will just down for no reason and at different times?
The fan seems to be working and I reinstalled windows, but it happens again-

    All ideas

    Hello

Have you noticed a higher temperature?
Laptop could shuts down automatically due to the higher temperature.
This is necessary to prevent the parts of the laptop from damage.

If the vents are blocked, so air can circulate properly and this will lead to a high temperature and shut downs.

So clean the vents using a jet of compressed air that it helps especially!

    Hello

Your laptop computer shut down automatically?
If you didn t notice any unexpected shut downs, then the computer laptop doesn't overheat!

    > The mousepad has a tendency to overheat so
My touchpad is too hot. This is not unusual due to the internal temperature for laptop!
The laptop as CPU and GPU parts produce a lot of heat and, therefore, the other parts may be hot too.

    > I try to keep my dust-free specifications, but it's not helping and my left leg Burns
I see you don t use the laptop on the table. This is the main reason why the laptop can not be properly cooled and raises the temperature of laptops!

Look, the vents are placed at the bottom of the unit and they must be free! It is very important to ensure a flow of ACI cooling properly and very fresh!
In addition it should be always enough free space around the laptop even if the laptop was sitting on the desk.

So, don t use in bed, sofa, sofa etc is undesirable and very risky because notebooks cooling module does not work as it should.

  • Sudden shutdown on Satellite A100

The PC suddenly stops and restarts only after many attempts. What are the probable causes?

It is really possible to happen due to overheating. What is the temperature of materials at the level of the critical temperature the laptop switches down automatically. If you wait a few minutes, you will be able to boot up your laptop but it will probably happen again.

I recommend you to clean up your laptop and any dust that blocks the cooling fans. I'm sure that the laptop works well again.

  • Strange noise on a Satellite A55 S1064

Since two days I have a strange problem with my Satellite A55S1064 aged 1 month. The cooler was very quiet because I bought the laptop, but 2 days ago it began to produce a strange noise that I can't really work on the laptop, it really of destruction. The laptop gets hot, but I think that this is not a critical temperature - my laptop previous also had hot at times.

An interesting fact is that when I hit the pc a little more noise stops for a few minutes.

My suggestion is, this cooler gets stuck or sth similar. What can I do about it? I don't want to send my laptop in support, because it'll take some time to check the problem then.

    Hello

It s a very bad idea to open Notepad by yourself, because you will lose the warranty.
It s a new portable computer and you do not need threatened security.
You can make the laptop to your dealer or you will contact the Toshiba service partner in your country.
I'll take one of these possibilities.

  • Re: Satellite P200D - 11L: where can I find the latest drivers for the Radeon HD 2600

    Hello

Where can I find the latest drivers for the Radeon HD 2600? The Catalyst 7.11 since the official site of Ati/Amd works on a laptop? I read some stuff that these drivers do not support mobile maps and that there is a software for this problem, so I'm a bit confused now.

What about drivers on the Toshiba site? They are more suitable? I don't really know.

    Thanks for your help.

Of origin ATI/nVidia drivers are not designed for Toshiba laptops.
ATI drivers can be used on desktop computers.
The drivers of Toshiba graphics card supports thermal protection which is necessary to avoid the increase in temperature.
Laptops, graphics cards do not have huge as cooling office modules graphics cards and therefore the GPU driver control the performance of the graphics card.

    What you could do is to check the site driver for 3rd party such as;
    www.OmegaDrivers.net.

But the non-Toshiba drivers may be used only at your own risk!

  • Satellite L670 - update driver for ATI 5650

    Hiya,

After a few months I just around the audit, if there is no driver update for my model: Satellite L670 with ATI 5650. Apperently Toshiba must approve the pilots to become available to us. Because ATI already has new drivers available, but we are not allowed to install since toshiba does not approve. So we can only download these old way drivers obsolete.

The thing is thesedrivers have not had an update since February 24th 2011. Or am I wrong? This is unacceptable! newer games run really bad right now with these old drivers. It's horrible!

Better give us a new driver update as soon as possible! Cause, I can say that I never buy a Toshiba labtop once again, for this reason. And I do not know more ppl are sharing about this than I.

However, if there are newer drivers available then the:

    Thank you

    > Best give us a new driver update as soon as possible! Cause, I can say that I never buy a Toshiba labtop once again, for this reason. And I do not know more ppl are sharing about this than I.
In my opinion, this statement is for Toshiba directly then perhaps you should contact Toshiba s hotline and repeat this complaint.

You are absolutely right on updated drivers. For mobile devices, display driver update is not very good with respect to the workstations. Manufacturers put offers to update very often, but they don t care about any peripheral damage so if something goes wrong, they'll send you to the manufacturer of the laptop and computer laptop manufacturer will ask which driver you used.

You know it's pretty stupid, but typical for laptops. New drivers force a graphics card to give better performance. Better performance means higher temperature of material. High temperature on laptops can be very dangerous and can end with overheating or even damage the equipment.
Who should be responsible if your graphics card will be Burnout?

You know, this is pretty complicated.

  • My Satellite L555-L11 turns off suddenly very

    Hello
My satellite L555 L11 turns off very suddenly. It seems that it s because of the heat, as when it arrives, I put my hand under the laptop and feel a too high temperature.
    my laptop is 5 years
    What should I do?
    thx for you answer

I think your laptop is quite full of dust and I can imagine that cooling rack is blocked so that your laptop is unable to catch his breath.

Believe me, that cleaning can help. Best thing you can do is professional cleaning. In this case the laptop must be disassembled. Otherwise, you can buy compressed air and try to clean it.

  • Re: Satellite A500-GL - noisy fan

Many people have complained about the noise of the fans on these portable and many computers and many times it is requested to clean.
In many cases, laptops were new. Mine is new and makes a noise so * please MAKE is NOT * tell me to clean it up.
This isn't what causes the problem.

There is a problem with the noisy fans on this laptop and I noticed that it was a question on mobile phones earlier in this series too.
These users managed to get Toshiba to take note and to eventually release a BIOS update to fix the problem.

Please can someone from Toshiba, taking this problem serious too so users of GM of the A500, GL models can also receive a solution for this noisy fan.

If you have this laptop and suffer from this problem, please add your name below.

    Hello

Noisy fan? You mean the cooling module run too fast or what?
The cooling module would go faster and longer if the internal temperature for laptop would be too high.
You can control the laptop and cooling performance in Windows 7 power management!

    Have a look here:

  • How to read the laptop temperature

    Hi all
I searched TOSHIBA software Assits for a temperature gauge where I can read the temperature inside the computer, but have not been able to find anything.

Did I miss something? Or do I have to install a third party software for that? And if so, does anyone know any good?

    Hello

To my knowledge, you will not find any tools of temperature control material on Toshiba laptops. As far as I know that this tool is not preinstalled.
So, if you want to use such tool, so you can use any 3rd party application.
But I m not 100% sure what tools effective and what not.

I used the wonderful ;) advanced search option of this forum and found this topic:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=14284

It seems that the tool Hmonitor can properly read the temperature of the CPU.
    Maybe you could test it.

  • Where can I find what should be my temperatures of the CPU for laptop HP Pavilion DV7-6195us?

I download a software to view the inside temperatures and even if they have little symbols (green check, red/yellow flame, etc.) by every internal part (e.g. CPU0) I want to know what HP internal temperature range is recommended.  Thank you.

What CPU is installed in your laptop?

It isn't really a question of what HP is recommended. Your concern should be what the CPU manufacturer lists as Tjunction for the CPU.

If your laptop is the Intel Core i7-2630QM installed then lists Intel 100 c as TJunction. I found the technique for your laptop here. You should be concerned if you see time > 85 degrees Celsius. Here is a link to Intel for your processor plug.

  • Sensors of temperature in Toshiba laptops

    Hello

I wonder if there are the temperature sensors in the notebooks of Toshiba A50 series - I have a Satellite A50-111. If the answer is positive, is there a special utility that can be used to display temperatures?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Yes, there is some temperature sensors. As far as I know there are tools that can access the temperature sensors available on your pc. By accessing the available hardware monitor chips, some of them can show temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds. Most of them work well with desktop computers, but not with laptops.

I have not yet tried, but some of my friends took some tools, but without success. If you find one and you want to use to change the speed of the fan s or something like that, do it at your own risk.

  • HP DV7-3063cl laptop PC: what is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 3063 cl with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.

The computer seems to run very hot and stopped twice from overheating during its first period of 2 weeks when it there was not a lot of calculating, fan was run at top speed at all times, and the laptop was high to allow good airflow below.

According to the program of the Open Hardware Monitor, the CPU had reached 97-99 C a few times. I bought support cooling a player and that seems to help a lot, dropping the temperature to 20 ° C.

What is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

Anything more than 90 c is too hot. You can specify the processor and the motherboard you have installed?

Also if this from the Manual:

Thermal paste is used on 1 CPU and heat sink section 2 that the services it. Thermal pads are used on the chip Northbridge 3 and 4, the graphical subsystem chip 5 contact Northbridge and graphics/heatsink contact 6. Thermal material replacement is included with all kits of spare parts of processor, heatsink and system board.

So unless you have changed the cooling system to heat composed on the chip graphic you should have used a thermal buffer. Without the pad, it may leave just a small hallway and destroy the cooling properties. You can use a shim in copper or other piece of something metal to fill the void, but if you just put the heat sink down on the video chip you won't get optimal even with thermal cooling paste.
