Text boxes in master/slave?

I do some sticker sheets as stickers have15 per sheet. Each sticker on a single sheet is exactly the same.

I'm looking for a way to type something in the first text box, and it automatically fills the other 14 boxes on the page. Whenever I edit the main box, the enslaved boxes will update the same changes. Is this possible?

Create a master document, which is the size of a thumbnail. Who put in your sticker sheet file and use step and repeat to complete the worksheet.

You can change the master file and update the links in the map thumbnail file.

    Hi, I wonder if it is possible to place an empty text block in a Master who let me write when not in master. I want to use a model that shows me, for example, 3 empty blocks of text where I have to watch the text. Text will be different from one page to another, but not the location of it and the specifications of the text (size, color, etc) thanks in advance.

    Yes, but I don't particularly recommend it most of the time, although the three executives who are always positioned the same may be entitled to my exception list.  Use images masters to type directly to first be overridden manually the page of the document, and it is about as long as a new image aligned with some drawing guides put you it on the master page. I would only use frameworks masters if you must have the style of different paragraph assigned by default in each frame.

  • Using a little code on Master Page to fill the page names in the text box?

    I was wondering if Muse has any codes that you might put in a box of text on the main Page so that all pages using this master to have their name filled in automatically on this page (e.g. a Page title - about us, Contact, etc.) instead of manually add a text box on each page in a particular space. The short code would make reference in the name of the page on the Site Plan and fill in this text on the page.

    I tried searching using different formulations, but have not found solutions to this particular problem.

    Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    You can use getfunction to pull up the page title and display it on the page, if it is only on display name of current page on the body of the page, insert this code into html master page properties:

  • How to set up an editable text box that can be controlled by master pages

    I am designing a book. I created a master page to the first page of each chapter. I also need the text box content to be in a different size. So I tried including a blank text box in the master. That's when I met a problem - to place text, I have to manually replace the text box on the first page (Page of chapter) making a page element... the following pages have no problem however, as the son of text in the main text boxes. Now when I want to change the size or formatting of this text box, I can no longer use the master and have to manually apply to each chapter of this.

    Is there a better way to do it. I'm on a deadline, a quick response would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    After that you override the master element on the page, it retains aspects on the page of the document that you do not change. So, if you change the size or geometry of the image on the page of the document, change the master page will have no effect. If all you have to do is out of the text frame to fill it with the type, you can still control its size and position through the frame of the master page. If you do need to change size every time you release and add text, I am not aware so as to always be driven from the master page.

  • Can not unlock a Master Page text boxes

    Hello

    First think first: Adobe InDesign CC for MAC, OS X 10.9.1.

    I received a file from a client with a lot of master pages. Now, what intrigues me is that at point, the designer uses a master page (title on bottom - Y) to add text on the footer, which foot is then used on the rest of the master pages. Each master page contains three layers: text, Images, frames blue boxes.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.48.15.png

    Then he created another master page (Z - Footers_Page #).

    Now, the delicate issue.

    There, initially, locked down titles that have been on the layer of text boxes. I unlock them.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.49.55.png

    Then, I went on my page document to sselect this footer text and put a little smaller, but only on this page, not on every page of the document. Usually, this is done by clicking on the desired text block while pressing command + shift. It did not work.

    I checked the master pages and noticed that the page that I tried to change used the Z Master. So, I thought that the master might have locked up too substantive text. So I went to this basic form and I noticed that the text boxes containing footers is not locked but has not yet shown on any of these three layers.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.19.png

    I tried the command + shift + click on the boxing of text containing the phrase ending by... Central Virginia, to make it editable. No question. They are not shown in the text layer boxes.

    The only text boxes, I can change are the page numbers.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.43.png

    However, when I do the layer of invisible text boxes, all the footers disappear, including those I can't edit at all.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.30.png

    I started, so I was wondering. What is going on? Commands like show all on the spread or unlock everything on spreads are gray. So, how do I change this line on a single page.

    There is a little professional manner, but I preffer to learn before doing the amateur work.

    Thank you.

    Select master z doing Ctrl A to select all the items on the master. On the flyout menu go to Master Pages/Allow Master item overrides on selection.

  • Master pages with text boxes

    Hey,.

    I would have thought it would be easy to find, but I can't seem to.

    I have a master page and you want to have an empty text box in the same place for a new page is created each time. When I do that on the master page, of course the text box is not on the newly created page, I must just be missing something?

    Do you use the master with the text block? What makes you think he isn't here?

    Text blocks master really designed to arise text, which replaces automatically. If you want to type or paste the text in there you need to override their first manually.

    Hold down the Shift-Ctrl/Cmd and click on the frame to substitute it.

  • Master Pages and text boxes

But what is the point of putting the text boxes in the master pages if you can't use them on your pages. This could be something simple, but I can't understand it. IM use cs4. Help, please

    Thanks for the help, I was hoping that I didn't have to place text on each page

    There is nothing wrong with putting a text on a master page object. To edit a template on a page, command + shift + click on item.

  • Problem with text box on the Page Master application to other pages.

    I've done this before with success, but maybe I'm missing something and don't have the time to waste on this one there...

    I applied a text box to the master page. I applied the master page to all the other pages, but on each page, the text box will appear like this:

    Picture 1.png

    I can not type in the text box or select or something. I have a go back to the Page Master and the text box is a-okay.

    What I'm missing or doing wrong this time?

    Me once again and I have the solution!

    1. place the text boxes where you want on your Master.

    2. go in the 'Pages' Panel and highlight all the pages.

    3. in the "Pages" options of the sliding panel, choose "replace all Master Page items.

    Now, all your pages have a floating text box!

    See you soon!

  • InDesign CC - header/title on each page is not selectable and not available as a text box, so I can not change the words or letters

    I'm working on a newsletter, and on each page there is a red title obnoxious that I need to change, but I'm not like a text box and I can't select it using the tools of mouse.
    I need to get rid from which change the titles, but I can't seem to find a way.

    Help please!

    They could be:

    On a master page - go to the master page (Pages panel) to modify or replace (Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + click) to make them directly on the page of the document

    On a locked layer - see the layers panel; Click on the lock (if present) to unlock

    Locked - objects choose object > unlock all on the spread

  • What is this icon on my text box? It is the breaking copy in the text box.

    Can someone tell me what this little icon on the left side of the text box in the screenshot below? I tried to google it with no luck and I don't know what to do to turn it off then my text doesn't go haywire. I copied the text area of a document. INDD where the text has worked, then pasted into a document. Pre-existing INDD and when I go to move the text around the text box begins to align left, right and Center on its own.
    Screen Shot 2015-06-03 at 1.21.45 PM.png

    Looks like you pasted the frame on a master page. This icon appears on text blocks that reside on a Master.

    Not sure if the erratic behavior of alignment is however; Maybe something else on the page has wrapping applied... (?)

  • I can't do anything with the text boxes in my InDesign file.

    I consider myself fairly well with InDesign. But now, I'm quite a. I just spent two hours designing a newsletter before and inside the cover. I filled two text boxes with the text that I stole from a Word file. But now, I can't do anything in the text boxes. I click and nothing happens. Nothing does highlight. The framework is not locked. I don't know what to do. I am little freaked out that InDesign can do this to me.

    Look for the locked layers

    (Menu) object > unlock all on the spread

    Check the Live Page vs Master Page (you could have worked on the master (?)

  • My text box is frozen and has a dotted around her line, how can I get the cursor inside?

    My text box is frozen and has a dotted around her line, how can I get the cursor inside? I work in Indesign CS3, I wrote a page of A4 format with a unique and with a large amount of text inside text box. In the end, I brought a JPEG in the page. Now they have a thin line dotted around them and appear "frozen." I have not seen the dotted line instead of the line before usual text box.

    Points: The text box is not locked, the layer is not locked. Nothing on the page goes live with command + A to select.

    It happened between the Time Machine backups so that I can not restore.

    All I need are the captured keystrokes.

    What can happen when you put the JPEG, I myself can I have moved that file folder, a larger file, on the desktop, then placed the JPEG.

    Re-opening Indesign didn't work; restart did not work.

    Solutions appreciated.

    The dotted lines mean that your items are on a master page and not a document page.

  • How to copy/paste the text box anchor to its anchor text and remove all checkpoints empty?

    Hi all

    I have a document of a few pages, but a story. The right column is the area of main text and on many places, anchored text boxes are placed which appears on the left column, as shown below.

    I want the text of each text box anchor to cut of his place and sticking to its point of insertion/anchor and remove all of the empty boxes of anchored.

    I'm trying since this morning but I was able to get the anchor object reference. Any help on how to start with will be useful.

    Marie rosine

    anchor_box.png

    OK, let's say you have a main text (not rooted) box and three text boxes that are anchored to the text it contains. One is anchored with text, the second is not anchored and the third argument is empty (I won't get into the anchor vs custom anchor line given that you mention in your message).

    Scroll us through the items on the page:

    function main(){
      var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
      var myPages = myDoc.pages.everyItem().getElements();
      for (var i = 0; i < myPages.length; i++){
      {
        var myPage = myPages[i];
        //Checks that the page is valid, and that it is not a master page. If either is true, skips to the next page.
        if (myPage.isValid == false) continue;
        if (myPage.parent instanceof MasterSpread) continue;
        var myItems = myPage.allPageItems;
        for (var j = 0; j < myItems.length; j++){
          //Current item.
          var myItem = myItems[j];
          //If myItem doesn't have a Character parent, it is not anchored.
          //The first and third text frames would fail this test.
          if (!(myItem.parent instanceof Character)) continue;
          //We only care about text frames.
          if (!(myItem instanceof TextFrame)) continue;
          //I think the only way this would happen would be if you had an image or
          //something else unexpected within the frame. I check for it so no content
          //is inadvertently lost.
          else if (myItem.texts.length > 1) continue;
          //If we're still in this iteration of the loop, all qualifications are met.
          //Flatten the text frame.
          //I don't use layers that often so, to me, flatten makes sense. You may want
          //to use a different term if there's a chance for confusion.
          flattenItem(myItem);
         }
       }
    }

    function flattenItem(funcItem)
    {
         //Hold onto the anchor character.
        var myParent = funcItem.parent;
         //Duplicate the text from within the frame so that it appears right after the anchor.
         //There may be other methods, but this works for me. I try to avoid copy/paste
         //so as not to deal with any clipboard mishaps. I added a check in case of empties.
         if (funcItem.texts.length > 0){funcItem.texts[0].duplicate(LocationOptions.AFTER, myParent.insertionPoints[0]);}
         //Replace the anchor character itself with a space (or whatever) which also
         //deletes the text frame it was anchoring.
        myParent.contents = " ";
    }

    I guess the takeaway is perhaps you aren't looking at the main text block and then check if anything it is anchored. You are watching each text block and find out if it is anchored. That's my approach, anyway.

  • Understand the text box

    I'm trying to understand and master the elements of text boxes in Muse.

    Why some text boxes seem to have a minimum size (sometimes) and cannot be resized to fit the text content?

    What does the line in dotted lines in the text box?  It seems to be linked to the entire text box, but I don't see how or why.

    It does not appear in certain text boxes?

    Why some text boxes have no effect on the BG Image.  for example when... Add text in an INFOCYCLER widget, text size box Exchange (even if there seems to be plenty of room for more text) and the bg image is contained in the size of the changes.

    There are many things that will come into force when we add the blocks of text that contains text, such as font, size, spacing between the characters, space after/before, space of text frame, text etc. frame border.

    The dotted line indicates a height for the text frame, if you drag the shorter than the text frame, the dotted line will appear. Muse inserts a style property called min-height in the code that tells the browser which frame should be less high and can develop in height, if the content he dictates.

    Text pixellisent if we use system so fonts on the browser, the text will be rendered as an image.

    Please go through details here:

  • Automatic resizing of the text boxes to adapt new lines

    I work with a 300 page document and I need automatic resizing all the new margin text boxes.  I can't afford to start a new document with the new settings, because it has become too complex to start.   I'm a newbie so forgive my ignorance. Any help will be appreciated.

    Select all pages that need to be adjusted in the pages (better Panel

    always - if they have a master that are applied, select the

    master pages).

    Then click on layout > margins and columns and check the box that says:

    "The page layout setting" to enable the setting of the page layout.

    Then change the margins you wish and all text blocks that are on the

    margins will adjust as well as margins (However, of text frames)

    which are not lie on the margins will remain where they are).
