that allows standard users change ppp settings, removing UAC admin fast pwd to DPIscaling.exe

I am currently using windows vista ultimate 64-bit with an installed nvidia geforce 8800 gtx card. I'm the ADM on the machine, with the standards users who connect it. My account of adm does not have the problem. I'm trying to find a way to allow standard users on the machine to have the ability to change the ppp settings.

The path of the file is C:\Windows\System32\DpiScaling.exe

I tried to use the solution listed on this site: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=635

and used the Application Compatibility Toolkit.  I used a lot of different options, the 32-bit version, 64-bit, different boxes, without success. When you click right on the file properties and click on the Compatibility tab, it says:
Cannot be set on this program compatibility modes because it is part of the Windows version.

I have a standard users also granted full control of the executable, and if the logged-on user account, he got always invited him to enter the administrator credentials. I understand that this only gives the user access to the file and not what the file does.

I need to find a solution to allow standard users on the computer to change the DPI settings without the need of the admin password.  While looking for solutions here and on the site of regular microsoft (support.microsoft.com) support, all I could find are methods that disable the guests of UAC elevation and ways to disable UAC completely.    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7security/thread/0364515a-301e-47C5-AF99-39347b83c6b4-je don't want to do that.  I even tried and the standard user has always invited to enter an admin password.  I don't want to disable UAC or the guests of elevation, surprisingly these guests don't mind.   The computer is set to high resolution and need to continually change the DPI setting to enable the second monitor (my HDTV) text output in a format that is clear and correct.  The reason why we have change back is because the cursor of the mouse in the PC video games being played here on disappears when the DPI is set to what higher than normal / default. So before any game is played, the DPI settings in windows settings must be changed to the default / normal.

Since I was the user only administrator on the machine, I am concerned when other users would like to play their games. but can not, because I am not present.  I want to be the only Admin account on the machine.  Bad things tend to happen when I allow other users are administrators on the machine.

Hello

Your question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited to the security of Windows Vista on TechNet. Please ask your question in the TechNet forum.

  • How to allow standard users to install and run games?

I want to enable a standard to install and run games and such user account but I keep getting guests for an admin password, I tried to disable UAC, but I'm now just get guests who say that the administrator can install only. I would like to be able to do this without having to turn off UAC.

You must have administrator rights to install anything, period.  Trying to allow standard users just did, it's as if we were trying to be a little bit pregnant. :-)

  • How to create a button that allows the user to check their form to find errors?

    Hello

I use LiveCycle ES3.  I would like to add, at the end of my form (independent, NOT on a web form), a button that allows the user to check their form for errors, and then display a list of errors and highlight areas with errors.  Finally, he must turn off highlight these fields when the errors have been corrected.

Also, in the form, if the user makes selections, they must include an attachment with their form.  I want to make sure when they make selections that requires an attachment, a field is generated at the end of the form that lists all required attachments.  Is this possible?

    Thank you.

The button validate calls a Script called "controller" object If you look at the hierarchy of the form Variables example there are two Script objects: controller and validation. Script objects are used to maintain the reusable script functions.

You have to re-create those for validation to work. If you right click on 'form1' (or whatever your node in the foreground is called in the hierarchy), you can select "insert a Script object. You will need to do it twice.

In the hierarchy, there is then a node Variables with two Script objects. Name them even as the form of the sample and copy and paste the sample form scripts in them.

  • Can I add an image field that allows the user to insert a picture on the form?

I use LiveCycle CS3 and I would like to create a form that allows the user to add an image. Is this possible and if so, how?

In LiveCycle, you can add an ImageField object library to the form...

Execution, the user can click on the image and choose an image file in the local system and the display of the form.

Make sure you check the image embed checkbox in the properties of the ImageField. Otherwise, the image may not be retained if you open the same file in another machine...

  • allowing standard users to software update

I recently changed my settings of the computer to have a separate administrator account and my usual account has been changed to the standard, but now I can't update all software (Adobe, Java, etc.) as a standard user.  Is - this here in any way that I can allow a standard user be allowed to do?  I know that having an admin account is to protect against unofficial downloads etc but this becomes a real pain in the neck, and I'm very tempted to return users standards admins.

I know that having an admin account is to protect against unofficial downloads etc but this becomes a real pain in the neck, and I'm very tempted to return users standards admins.

In Windows 7, the standard accounts are not allowed to install the software. Since UAC prevents the installation of unauthorized software, you could safely restore administrator privileges on your account every day.

  • Standard user changes time clock to circumvent the time limits set in the parental controls, how to stop this?

    Original title: clock change

I put deadlines for my daughter in the parental control. my daughter just changed the clock time to get around this. It has a standard user account and I have the password to the administrator account, which she could not possibly know that I keep changing. How does do and how can I stop this happening?

The date and time system can be changed using a control panel applet - timedate.cpl file.

If you have the administrator account, you can refuse his user account access to the said folder.

    1. go to start > type cmd > press and hold shift + Enter (this will open CMD with Admin Access)
    2. on your type CMD in the command below

    Cacls timedate.cpl /p : n

    3. press ENTER.

The command will refuse access to user account in the file so that it could not change the time and date.

  • An Extension that allows the user to rub a 3-d image

    Hello

I am trying to find a way to take a rendering/animation flash or gif animated, which has all the images photographed around an object and anime now on its own.

What I would like is the possibility for a user on a tablet or iPhone or any other smartphone, to be able to use their finger with a sort of stunted element that allows them to move the image to different locations.

Is there any extension that does anyone know out there to do this, or can anyone guide me in the right direction.

I thought I'd try something in Flash, but then I can't use it on an iPad or an iPhone.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Babs

You can always code it in Flash as an animation of scenario with tactile buttons using AS 3.0...  Then to the port of iOS, you can use the settings in publication for export to iOS.  It's been a while since I whatever it be transferred to iOS, but my belief is that it can still be done.  But be careful how you code as your app could get damaged.  I have CDED slightly wrong in the past and to iOS AND Android and the two files has been corrupted.  I don't know what I can do about it, but give it a shot.  If you have an Android device or emulator, it would be interesting to publish your Flash works as an application Android as well.

This port is made within Flash, not Dreamweaver, incidentally.

  • How can I create a field that allows you to change by a mouse click?

THE field is blank, click first between "/", then click on entry changes to 'X' and third click changes in an empty field.  Bascially I want a field that allows to use to scroll with the mouse click.

It is possible. What you describe can be considered a multistate checkbox. The following demo illustrates a number of different implementations: https://acrobat.com/#d=xRrSL3NBQy2hu5qFANPvqA

You will have to study the code in different areas (box/text for the button combinations) and at the level of the document to understand how it works.

  • ID that allows multiple users to access the files at the same time

I often share files on my Mac with another Mac in my studio.  In the past if someone tried to open a file I was using would give them a warning that the file was opened.  Now for some reason, it allows both us to have the file open and work on it and seems to give priority to the person who opened the modified file.  If they make a change and save it, its OK, if I make a change to it, the program says it needs to close and then freezes.

Not sure when this happened, but I'm guessing it's something to do with the update to Lion, because that's when I started noticing the issue. We are both short CS5.0

Other people find this question, and y at - it a setting to stop it. We try to avoid never work on the same file, but due to workflow in the studio, it could happen accidentally and could cause major problems.

There was a bug in the initial release of CS5 that allowed this under certain conditions. Update 7.0.4.

  • Standard user needs access to the protected admin program

    Hello
In addition to the response of Mick Murphy, check this:

Step 1: To run the game or any program as an administrator, try the following steps.
    1. right click on the game launch icon or program, and then click Properties.
2 click the Compatibility tab and choose "run this program as an administrator", under the privilege level.
    3. apply the changes.
    4. open the icon and provide the administrator credentials and keep identification information.
    5. Once opened the game the next time the user will be able to continue without entering credentials.

Step 2: Install the program or game for all users.
A lot of programs or games have the option to choose to install the game or program for all users on the computer.
    1. install the game using the Setup file.
    2. follow the instructions in the wizard; Select for all users on the computer.
    3 complete the installation.

Step 3: Copy the shortcut icon of game launch on the standard user desktop.
1 copy the shortcut icon of launching a game from the user admin account and paste it into the Office of standard user account. The location to paste the copied icon is: C:\Users\\Desktop
    2. run the game and check the result.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • Only the user is a Standard user, how do I get an admin account?

    Hello

    Windows 7 Pro

When I set up this new computer, I created the main account as a standard user. Bad move. Now when I try to make changes, I invited him UAC with an inactive "Yes" button. It is said to enter an administrator password - it is not one that I know. I'm not able to use the cmd as administrator either. I have to reinstall Windows to fix this? I tried several suggestions that I found on the web (safe mode, etc.) and nothing gets done by the UAC.

    Thank you!

    OT:

Only the user is a Standard user,

Sorry, I have reflected on something else when I wrote 'choice 4 '.

First, note the comment at the top of the page I linked to:

Theoretically if you do not have an administrator account, the built-in Administrator account should be available in safe mode (see also related articles). For any identified reason, the built-in Administrator sometimes to be unavailable in safe mode.

So, the first thing to do is to reboot safe mode and see if the built-in Administrator account is here.  I will not delete my Admin accounts to test this situation.

Assuming that the built-in Administrator account is NOT available in Mode safe...

The link I gave you, the two method I (32-bit only) and method II require you to "open a command prompt at startup" and give a link for directions to do so.  If you go to this link, there is a 'Option One' which uses the installation of Win 7 disc and a 'Option 2' that tells you to use the menu of Boot Options to boot into "Safe Mode with command prompt."

However, Safe Mode with command prompt not automatically you will get an account with computer administrator privileges, and I suspect that you will not be able to make registry changes suggested that way, despite the generally good reputation of sevenforums.com.   So, use the Windows 7 installation DVD to display the "System Recovery Options" and then select "Command Prompt" there.

Assuming that you do not receive the built-in administrator enabled account, log in, create a new account and give administrator privileges.  If you intend to use this account for anything other answering the UAC guests, create a second administrator account, "just in case."

Finally, open an elevated command prompt (right click > run as administrator) and use the following command to disable the built-in Administrator account:

NET user administrator / active: No.

  • Pass the protected script that allows the user to edit the content

I work with a number of local groups but get busier with my schedule, I can't take the time to do the weekly band concerts or hourly updates. I saw a script a few years ago, allowing an end user (the band) to change their own webpage (in particular, the page of the annex). It is password protected so that only you can access the configuration of the page with the appropriate authorization. I forgot since the code and can't seem to find one similar to it. The unfortunate side effect was the page was very simplistic and did not much markup.

Does anyone know of a code or a script like this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Anurag,
That's what I have in mind. I'm a programmer/designer old enough, when I started writing code, it was all by hand and the concept of the CMS is really new to me. I've seen a few articles about it but did not know about the process. I definitely take your advice and looking around sourceforge and some other resources. The idea of the timetable is a good starting point, and I think that will be what I'm after.

    Thanks for the advice,
    Txwebman

  • There seems to be no obvious way to access controls that allow a user to finally choose 'allow remote content' by default.

Hello, thank you for making a product especially big. My problem is quite simple. I do NOT wish to have the 'remote content' of my emails blocked at all. When I looked at the 'how' guide to find out how to set the parameters, he never mentioned WHERE is the 'TOOLS' button, then arrive at the privacy settings and to change setting by default I want to. Please help me to understand EXACTLY HOW the changes that I want to do. Thank you, AL

In the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Options > Privacy.
