  Problem solved to my satisfaction.

  I went to ms config and follow-up instructions from hp and then opens the d\l file and press the remove software and the program began to install software for both printers, even if one of them was closed.  The two programs are installed by a stroke of luck...

  The icon detects now two printers.  The only thing missing is the other icons that came with the program, which I did not need.

  I think there is a problem with the software and it needs some more work for Vista...
