• How to remove the old context files after upgrade to R12.1.1

  I upgraded 11.5.9 (DB 9.2.0.4) to 12.1.1 (DB 11.2.0.2).
  
  In the application manager under automatic configuration menu, I noticed that I have 4 files of context: 2 DB level and 2 for the Application Tier. Two of them are apparently old 11i system. How can delete them so I have two listed on this page. I have to add custom settings. When I tried to do it wrong by saying 'Customization is not permitted on the different versions of the configuration files.'.

  Make sure that none of the old context files are available on the servers (delete), make sure also that you have entered right in the FND_NODES table.

  I am trying to be proactive and prevention viruses take over this machine again... I remembered reading after installation 'own' that I should remove the file 'old Machine' if the computer works well after the clean install? .. .also had a warning on a temporary file.

  Step 1: You can remove it in c:/Windows. With the help of old cleaning disc.

  By default, the old log files are deleted automatically because the system fills the disk and the file age.

  You can manually "clean" by using the following procedure:

  Sign in as netrangr and cd in the/usr/nr/var directory.

  Run idsstop

  dump/usr/bin/RM-f / * errors / * iplog / * iplog/news / * iplog/dumpster / * new / * log.* erreur.*

  I have two servers that I'm watching with Hyperic. I had the agent 3.2.x on their job very well. However, when I try to run the 4.0.2 agent, I get an error message whenever I have try to launch HQ - agent.sh.  No idea why?

  HQ - agent.sh first is just a script. It actually run bundles/agent-4.0.0-EE-889/bin/hq-agent.sh script.

  I believe you can manually set the DIST_ARCH parameter to account for your system architecture.

  You delete a file compressed just the way that you remove any other file, BUT...

  You can't really delete these 'compressed old files.  By default, in Windows XP Disk Cleanup tool will compress files that have not been used for 50 days.  Well, you can keep the files to which you have not accessed in the past two months.

• Resurrect the old PDF files into usable documents

  Hi all

  I have a few dozen files PDF that was apparently created by scanning the old doc printed 1990 (full of staple holes and Visual noise, like perhaps other pages had glued over time) in PDF without benefit of OCR. I don't know how long the PDF was created, but Ctrl + D shows Acrobat 5.x as the latest version of the cluster. The files have a line drawings. Some have tables created in the old typewriter/WordPerfect bullies: using special characters to delimit columns online. Roll forward about 20 years now... These old relics of decades are the only things that shows how something important, and I have to put things in a useful format for programmers and developers of new products today. Unfortuntately, there is no admin on the staff, and yours is really too short a time to allow to fix such things even at 120 OMP.

  I use Acrobat Pro Extended v.9 on XP - SP3. (I have access to Acrobat 9 on Win7, but I'm just a die-hard XP.)  I tried to run 'Recognize text in multiple files using OCR' with parameters to ClearScan and Word output, and it really gum up the layout until you can not literally follow one sentence to another enough say where are the sentences and paragraphs.  I've seen some other posts about the differences between the 3 OCR options (still a little foggy on it) and thought maybe ClearScan would be a good choice and then save them in Word or save it as plain text or RTF, but ClearScan 'seen' the Visual noise and the punctuation marks and special characters. Maybe it was a hypersensitivity?

  What Miss me about the settings? Or is there something I could / should do to clean up this Visual noise before running OCR? I need ideas like a lot of people who know more that I do what I can maybe you! :-)

  I forgot to mention, on some pages, there are also hand-written notes. Is there a way to get the OCR to understand handwriting? Or if I use the typewriter tool to record the handwritten stuff, is it possible to remove the PDF manuscript stuff before running OCR?

  These are not legal documents, but I'm working copies stored away so that the original PDF files are archived for posterity.

  As mentioned, some of the 3rd party are supposed to do a better job, as the OCR is their main goal. When I did my job, I OCRB the scan, then moved to my word processor. Of course, it was not perfect, but much better than of type from scratch. My copy is pretty good and about 600 dpi I recall. I spent probably not more than about 10 minutes per page on average. Maybe it's even higher. I had to retype each equation. The alternative is to copy the equations in the form of a graph. In some cases, you may even want to anyway as you so that the image of the equation to the view that you retype. I have just try a few pages and see what you can get. Be sure to keep a copy of your Moose and work in parts.

  On a computer, when we download a file (Open Office), it does not replace old file, we downloaded before. The system adds (1), (2), on behalf of the end of the file. When we have to save this file, we have so many files for the same thing but with several versions.
  In the Options, I checked that Firefox always ask for the download location. And enforcement, asking for all Open Office files.
  For other computers, there is no problem.

  Then, rename the mimeTypes.rdf file to mimeTypes.rdf.old.

• Last update of features not available with the old site file

  Downloaded the latest update with the functions of breakpoint, but when I open an older file, the MUSE desktop looks and works like the old application to MUSE.   But with the same MUSE when I start a new site, all the features are there.  I also noticed that when I went to download most old site after doing some updates in the last MUSE updated app, it worked as a newer site would be using the new features.  In other words, I don't see or have the scroll bar to the right or the other options available for an older site, but if you create a new site.

• Flash CS3 with the old flash files

  I'm using flash to make the files that play other swf files that worked very well problems...
  Problem 1:
  What I have are swf files are a preloader that loads another swf inside file. They play very well until I tried to put them in a html page. This is how they have been all along, in an html page, and they worked. somehow now the SWF (the preloader that loads the swf file) will not play, just white.   I tried to make new files with the same preloader model that I had used before, but with newly made swf files loaded in it and he won't play at all.
  
  So I tried to make a new preloader file (found a model online) and used this but it happens just to where I was in problem 1. they work, but not once I put them in the html page.
  Problem 3:
  I tried to make new files flash with the new loading until a former SWF preloader and it won't play properly.   But if I do load a new SWF works fine (except as noted above, not when I put it in an html page)
