The battery: Cycle Count

I recently bought a new macbook pro 13 inch (my first macbook never) and decided to read a little about the life of the battery.

To my surprise, I realize that my cycle was 7!

(Note: I only bought the macbook for about 4 days and charged for 3 - 4 times)

And according to the sites, cycle counts only account all costs 100% (fresh short accumulation).

In addition, my battery life estimated at 05:10 hours at 92%, but jumped to 08:40 hours to 84%.

Should I be worried?

I read that you can actually leave your macbook to charge overnight, but do you do with the power supply on or off?

What is the best way to charge your macbook?

If you are not satisfied with this experience, please return it and get another.

You can return a Mac within 14 days of the purchase.

I had a defective power adapter, running on the number of cycles of load on my battery.  Thus, it no longer accepts a charge.  I have been running only on AC for over a year now, but finally decided to replace the battery.  What are the steps to reset the counter after replacing the battery?

Replce just the battery, the battery will communicate the number of cycles to the computer. No adjustment is necessary.

  • Question of battery cycle count

    Hello everyone.

I just ran the support assistant HP battery check.

It indicates that the battery is in good health.

But when I click on advanced it showed me that the number of cycles is 220/300.

    This mean exactly?

Someone told me that the 300 is the maximum load of cycles before the battery is not.

But if that's true, it would mean that my battery will fail within 2 years of use...

Don't know if it's worth mentioning, but it's an ENVY14 (first gen) model.

Could someone give me a brief explanation?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I see that you have a question about the battery. The number on a number of cycle for your battery now means, how many times battery was drained and then charged. Now, drained does not mean 0%, this means essentially any time the battery level has been reduced from 100% and then load was from there. If you're having a problem with the battery, I suggest that you call HP @09002020165 before the warranty does not cover the part on the laptop.

The reason behind you not finding the battery to purchase could be because the laptop only is not supported in the country or the Web site that you have visited is not in stock. Now seems to me the battery is not in stock on HP part surfer or part store.

You can call HP and have them check and see if they have the battery in stock.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

  • Short load cycles affect the battery life?

    Hello world

2 weeks ago, I bought a car with Apple Carplay. Before, I was charging my iPhone 6 more at night, have it completely recharged when I wake.

Then, since I plug it to my car to use Carplay everytime I go somewhere, the battery has multiple short consecutive charges along the day. I was wondering if this kind of accusations could affect my battery life in the wrong direction? Does my battery prematurely die compared to 'normal' load cycles every night

    Thanks for your replies.

No, many short sessions of loading will not harm your battery. At the risk of anthropomorphism, lithium-ion batteries "prefer" kept topped up.

  • Extraction of Cycle Count of the system report

I have an action automator, put in place to generate a report of power system and create a file of text based on it. Is there a way I can extract the Cycle of this number?

    From the Terminal:

    $ system_profiler SPPowerDataType | AWK ' / Cycle Count / {print $3}'

Back: 96 (on my MacBook Air of 2014)

  • Mac pro 2015 89.7% wear of the battery after 4 months and 82 cycles

Is this normal? Should I worry?

82 of cycles in 4 months is a bit high, but then maybe you need to use your laptop to be more portable than mine.

Battery life is estimated at approximately 1000 cycles.  And if you regularly ride your system less than 25% (I suggest below 35% if you can avoid) maybe it's getting hurt.

Regardless, you have a 1 year warranty! And you can buy AppleCare to extend this warranty to 3 years (hardware, and telephone support for 3 years).

Your original question... take an Apple store and ask them to confirm the battery.  If defective, replace for free.

  • cDAQ-9181 with NI 9402: after the first cycle of meter reading lack certain counts in all subsequent cycles.

    Hello

I'm reading pulses TTL of a generator of service using a meter. I apply a 1 kHz signal to the meter. Each time counter reads the pulses correctly in the first cycle of measure, but it lacks some counts in all subsequent cycles.

I use NEITHER 9181 cDAQ chassis and NI 9402 module with 2014 LabVIEW and NI Max 14.0.

My computer has the Windows 8.1 operating system.

Please find the VI joint and the front image after EXECUTION.

I also used the same VI with chassis USB cDAQ-9171 . Results have been improved, but the same problem persists.

What could be the reason for this, please guide.

    Thank you!

    B. Sharma

    1. the loop time is defined by software and therefore won't be compatible.

    2. you restart the meter patch between each iteration of loop - so that the task is restarted, it does not take samples.  The new start is faster on the USB device from the device ethernet due to the latency of the lower bus, so that explains why the behavior is improved on the 9171 compared to the 9181.

Using method 2 meter would be a clever way (maybe too smart...) to implement which, according to me, you are looking:

This will configure a second counter (ctr0 is paired with ctr1, ctr2 is paried with ctr3) to generate a signal of a period known (time measurement).  The meter is taken into account the number of external pulses during this period, and since we are because data in terms of 'Ticks', it will give you the number that occurred during the measurement time.  This measure is repeated for the specified number of Cycles without software-timing or latency between cycles.

The appeal of reading will have a time-out value long enough to ensure that all cycles have completed (or you can query to see if the task is made first of all to give the user the option to cancel the measure).

  • Lenovo Y510P | Sudden power loss on unplug and operate the State cycling under the optimized battery

    Hello

I recently came across these related problems on my Lenovo Y510P of power: model i7, 8 GB Ram, GT750M configuration.

    ----

It started after I installed a new SSD for the system, the clean install of Windows 8.1 with all latest drivers except the previous version of the BIOS and Lenovo Energy Management. Until all this started, the battery would not charge I have troubleshooted and fixed this problem by removing the battery and holding down the Start button. Over the next few days, I started to have additional problems.

When I unplugged the power adapter, the system suddenly put off the power. Here is what happens:

    1. turn on the system with connected adapter and battery attached.

    2. unplug the adapter

    3. quickly plug adapter

    4. Quick disconnect adapter again.

    5. the system turns off completely.

Then, I started to notice that the "Battery optimized" regime, the power state would be cycle between power adaptor and batteries, as observed in the cycling of screen brightness and performace cobs. This has happened only if the battery charge level was higher than 60% but less than 98%. Regularly, I used this energy system and did not notice this problem until very recently.

    ----

I reinstalled the original SSHD (same OS and driver installation methods), where these issues were not present in the past. However, two problems remained.

I've updated the BIOS and the Lenovo Energy Management to the latest versions. Two problems persist.

    ----

I would appreciate any help or insight. My tech knowledge level is above average, so feel free to use the advances or procedures. Thank you!

I don't know what the problem at the moment with your laptop, but if it's a problem with the power supply or the battery it can easily lead to a fried motherboard.

I would like to communicate with Lenovo and send the laptop for repairs or ask for a replacement charger and battery.

  • The overnight cycle battery

    All I have this problem:

I turn off my cell phone, to go to bed with almost full battery, when I wake up and try to turn it back on, it has no power, the battery has completely discharged.

What can I do about it?

Return it.  If you lose the battery with the phone turned OFF, then it is defective.

  • Replacement of with SSD HD improves the battery life?

MacBook Pro 13 "mid-2010.  My MBP is faking a bit slow compared with my Mac Pro 5.1 running an SSD as drive.  I have reviewed a SSD in the optical Bay Assembly or Assembly may be two SSD...

How this may affect the life of the battery, is the original battery, I rarely use the MBP otherwise that plugged into the power, the count charge cycle is ~ 240.  If left for a week running but not connected, the MBP is run flat battery.

Having two SSDS put more pressure on my battery or reduce his load? Whereas a Crutial 250 GB or two.

A MBP will always run slower than a MacPro.

SSD will affect the life of the battery for the better - less parts to be driven by the mobile battery
