  IPad version 8.3, version of Adobe reader App is 15.0.4 and for some reason any application has stopped working today shortly after access successfully.  If we try to open it, it flashes on the screen and then Blip! Go!... but if I look in open windows it shows as the active window in the last folder to which access to the app, but if I tap on it, the image fills the screen, then on Blip! It is!  .. .but if I back in the active windows open it is still there, we just can't access it at all.  Biggest problem is that I can't seem to access documents (work related signed service orders) and need them.  You are really looking for better solution than reinstalling the app and lose all the documents.

I can access the camera screen I can zoom in I can see old photos but when I click on the camera icon to take a photo there is no flash and no picture is taken (as a video of tmy note side works fine)

  Try to use the devices option in the Photos app to see the pictures on your camera. See the steps below:

  1. Connect your camera to the Surface
  2. Open the Photos app
  3. Some devices

  The Surface appears a message "this application cannot send to other devices right now."
  Note the expression "send to," implying that the app you want to send, not receiving.

  What you can do, is to slide down from the top in the Photo app and you will see the menu item to 'Import', with an icon that looks like a camera. Then, you can see a list of drives.  It takes the card memory of the camera, listed as a reader.  Click it and you can get a window with thumbnails of all the pictures in the camera.  You can then select or deselect images.  The following menu offers two options: import or cancel.  So you can not really just to view the images.  Ideal if you want to import the images.
  In addition, it offers a name to give the folder where the photos will be placed.  In my case, the name of the folder was a date in the format yyyy-mm-dd, where the chosen date seems to correspond to the date of my older photos.  Apparently, you can change the name of the folder.  but you are apparently not able to browse and select a different location.  So for example, you cannot select the Micro SD card if you have installed one like I have it.  (I read in other posts that the Micro SD card is not usable for the Photo app, unfortunately).

  So, yes you can connect a camera and see the images in thumbnails or import, but not just view them full-size.

  Because the native memory limit, and I usually manage my photos on my desktop PC, I wasn't really thinking about import photos in any significant number at the Surface.  Good to know it works well.
