The CD system recovery error

I just got the recovery disc for my hp pavilion dv6-2157wm entertainment pc and when I try to retrieve gets to a certain point and say: copy files is not e:\preload\base.wim c:\rem\image\base.wim. How this can be fixed. I just tried the disks today.

Hello:

He hints at why recovery disks don't always work. If you are unable to work, you can use this workaround to get at your PC facing up and running if you can read all 25 characters of your Windows product key 7 on the sticker on the bottom of your PC.

Here's how:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Helps the Vista system recovery

    Hello.
I have Vista on my desktop. Recently, a friend told me that I was able to connect my Xbox 360 to my pc via ethernet. I did, and of course, it did not work. I've disconnected and ended up with something like "the file calculated checksum does not match" or something like that. I havnt been able to access the windows since.

I followed the instructions for the Vista system recovery. Downloaded 64-bit using the binding and the ISO burner. Basically, when it says "Press any key to boot from the CD/DVD drive" I do, but instead to load the screen of Windows recovery process, I usually get an error with this screen below "Windows cannot recognize the digital signature for this driver" once or twice he managed to get that load the files on the disc but then goes back to "press any key...". "and when I do I get 'checksum of the file...". "or whatever. I keep going in circles!

So, that being said... I don't know what to do. Help, please! Thank you!!!

If I understand you correctly, you have downloaded a startup repair disc, NOT a Systrem recovery disk to put it back to factory settings.

Here's how to do a startup repair disk:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  • Latitude E6510 - how I manually access the Dell system recovery partition?

Latitude E6510 - how I manually access the Dell system recovery partition?

    Hi all

My Dell Latitude E6510 came with OEM Win 7 Pro x 64 installed. I am trying to perform a restore of the system to the factory setting.

I tried to access advanced without result Boot Options and pressing F12 during the boot process does not provide me with the option to repair and select the recovery partition, as if it is invisible. If I use the computer management > storage I do not see the hidden partition or if I do Diskpart it is listed.

How the BIOS or the system recognize it to boot from the recovery partition? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply but it appears not the solution you provided helped and I think you are incorrect since my original screenshot has allowed me to see the hidden partition, but I didn't know how to access it.

I got access once I used the app "diskpart" with commands like 'list readers', 'list volume' and 'assign volumes"to access the partition of the content.

Nevertheless, I have found that my recovery media is missing or damaged.

So I have a laptop HP which is relatively new. I recently acquired the Virus 2010 Vista AntiVirus Pro. When the malware and spyware could not fix the problem, I decided to do a system restore, which would put the computer to the way it was when I bought it. I backed up the files and do the system recovery. He filled the recovery then said it will re-start to reinstall windows and complete the process.

After the restart as it gets and error that says: "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "ok" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. »

The only option is to click on 'ok', but after clicking it he is trying to reboot once again and the same error comes back. We tried to manually close the laptop and restart, but we always get the same error. I can get the start menu when the information system and the recovery is but to the past is just the mistake. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I don't know what else to do.

Background info: PC was running slow so save all the data and did a system restore.
PC was still running slow so thought I'd do a system recovery of disks that I made when I got the pc. PC still worked slow and it does not seem to wipe everything so thought it must of kept some virus with other things, it didn't remove.
Then I used records and did a complete removal of data and partitions and substitute all sectors (I regret it because I wasn't sure of what were the scores.)
Now think I have a clean slate I'm going to remake the system of recovery with discs and I get

error: recovery image has no 0 0000003 x or sometimes 0x00000002.

The system will not at all in any windows operating system and I tried every possible thing with the restore/recovery/repair disk unsuccessfully.

    Hi Lukets,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

You have the disc to install Windows 8?

As you have already wiped out everything on the system, I think that you also deleted the recovery disk partition. The recovery disks you have helps you recover the system of health as long as you have the recovery disk partition on your system.

However, you can always reinstall Windows 8 on an installation of Windows 8 disc system. If you do not have the Windows 8 installation DVD, you may need to create one using another system.

To create the installation media, please refer to the article below:

Create an installation media for Windows 8.1

After you create the installation media, you can boot your system from the installation media and install Windows 8. To perform a clean installation of Windows 8/8.1 media, see the steps in the following article carefully.

How to perform a new installation of Windows

NOTE: You may need to contact the manufacturer of your system to get the active Windows or you must buy a new product of Windows 8/8.1 license to activate your operating system.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Portege 3440CT reinstalling the operating system and error NTLDR

    Hi all

I have a Portege 3400 I picked up a few years ago when starting a business. The machine was made by many, and it no longer starts. I want to reinstall the OS - the only problem is that I don't have the original CD Rom drive that came with the unit. I have a portable CD player that I can plug into the USB port of the adapter, but during the taking of a boot device, it is not yet trying to look for the CD player and immediately gives me an NTLDR error.

  • With the disk system recovery, system will not read

Hello, I got my HP Pavilion dv7t-6000 laptop repaired while I was (and am still) in Europe in January this year. When they fixed my HDD, him has not loaded in many settings, programs and applications that I use/am used to / and pleasure to use. I sent RESUMES to the recovery disks that I have now. The problem is when I run the recovery program, after disconnection and everything, I get to the screen where it says insert the System Recovery DVD, which I do, and a screen appears which reads has not found disk. I re - insert the new attempt to drive / vile and again the same message every time, even though I hear the pilot running and when I enter the drive connected to windows, it appears in the pilot, so I know, he knows it's there. I need serious help on that and quickly because the people who fixed were no help at all. I have windows 64-bit. I make my living on this laptop, and I'm kind of panic around here.

Are you at the end of the process here:

  • the API system configuration error 1097 and freezes

I used successfully the API system configuration to detect and read information on a PXI chassis.

But now, when I try to initialize and collated all information using a simple VI, the system returns error 1097 and crashes before the end of the VI.  Based on that the stop button does not work and I have to either soft or hard reboot the machine.

I have attached a screenshot of it in a frozen state and error, like a report of what is installed on my system.

The only thing I can think has changed since this last worked has been upgraded my MAX and other pilots from 5.5 to 14.0 and then the latest version as of today.

It is usually the generic error, which means that some external code access violated the integrity of the system and the memory is likely to have been corrupted in the process. Since it is a NI API system AND it seems to have worked before, I guess it's not a bad disigned call library node, but a form of bribery in external code library itself which implements the API of the System Configuration.

    Reinstalling may solve the problem.

  • Acer desktop after the HORRIBLE system - recovery

Hi, I recently started to get into trouble when you play all THE games on my computer. Games like World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2 and Guild Wars. They have completely turned off my computer after 1-2 minutes. They even stop it if I left it on the login screen. I had 3 answers after searching the Web. It was either a overheating, lack enough power, or its drivers were not updated. I fixed all 3 and it made me anywhere I e-mailed Acer support and told to try to use the system restore. After you use the system restore, my desktop Acer transformed into a Windows 98 desktop computer, seems. Sound is extremely slow and laggy. I had 96 updates on Windows Update and I was able to download half of them. Others told me to reboot, but when I did, he wouldn't do anything except make me have to use start up repair. When I signed in my computer then it says that my Windows has recovered from an unexpected stops. Also, I have a version dated out of internet explore and cannot update because it says that I need a few other updates update... When I try to download UPDATE it says that it is not compatible. Internet Explorer also only let me go to some sites, or it will indicate that the operation has been aborted. It stops responding once in a while and restart too. I am at a complete loss of ideas and I have absolutely no idea what to do. All the tips, as I said, im at loss full of ideas.

The only remaining issue at this point would be bad sectors or clusters on the HARD drive. At this point, your only real option would be a HARD drive swap and a reinstallation of the operating system with recovery CD. If you do not have the DVD collection yourself, you should be one of buy online or via Acer Technical Support line.

Hi people, I can't use except in safe mode system restore, when I go into the Task Manager I get a pop-up box saying task image is damaged or has been tampered with, I had offers to try to remove (the user synchronization task flow) and then go to cmd and type (msfeedssync enable) but my problem with this my power supply synchronization user is missing, I reluctantly made a repair of vista I have the drive, which took 5 to 6 hours only to find yet, I have the same problem, should I just live with the problem seeing has I can do a restore of the system in safe mode, or I think about a recovery of the system as a last resort I have a backup on an external hard drive image, and if I do that, can I just transfer the problem with my backup disk. Thank you, patch41. I did a system restore and then installed my backup file only to find that the problem was back
