The computer automatically turn on when put in standby mode.

June 15 after having installed the Microsoft updates my computer would turn on itself at various intervals. That's when the computer was in sleep setting. I worked with Technical Support Dell for three days with success and finally we took my computer back to factory settings. The computer is in standby for a day and a half with the come. I then installed all updates from Microsoft to update the computer. At this time the computer started again back on itself while in mode 'sleep'. He doesn't know when to stop. I have Vista Home Premium

Hi crcn84,
Try disconnecting all USB devices to see if that it stop.

In addition, reinstall the drivers for your NIC manufacturer.
Check your BIOS and see if there is a setting for the network card that says something like "Wake on LAN". Disable is turned on. You can also check the settings for USB legacy. Change the opposite of what it is now, if it exists.
Let us know how it goes.

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can resolved e. Changes to settings are at your own risk...

  • Satellite Pro U400-11V - charges only battery when the computer is turned off

Following a reformatting my hard drive of the computer, my laptop recognizes only the AC/DC power adapter when it is turned off. When the computer is turned on, it does not recognize the AC adapter.

Changed the power supply ac and it made no difference.

Have also tried an update of the BIOS (3.0), I am running Windows Vista 32 bit.

    Hello

I doubt it has something to do with the software or the operating system. In my opinion, that this looks like a hardware problem, because the battery will be always charged if AC/DC adapter is plugged in. That's why it of not necessary to enable this setting in the configuration of the software.

If your BIOS is already updated, contact an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and maybe the motherboard needs to be replaced.

  • Tecra A5 - charges the battery only when the computer is turned off

    Hello

For a few days, my Tecra A5 has started to beep and stop it (like when the battery is low) then that it was connected to the power supply adapter.

I finally realized that when the computer is plugged in, the battery discharge and does not use the power supply to recharge.

On the other hand, if I turn off the computer, the battery starts to charge.
I replaced the battery a few months ago, so I think it's still OK.

The charger would be defective? Seems strange since it can always recharge the battery when the computer is turned off.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.

    > The charger is defective?

Theoretically; Yes, but could also be electronic supply on the motherboard is affected, but on the first stage of the AC adapter should be verified and laptop needs to be tested with AC adapter new, good work.

You're overthinking this problem.  Simply configure tasks planned to inform you of missed tasks .  If the date of scheduled backup has been a weekend or a holiday with the computer off, the next time you turn on the computer you will get a notification that "some tasks did not run."  At this time, manually start the backup job.

  • When the Admin sign on the office comes to the top, but after that the computer does not respond when the user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.

    Original title: user profile

My administrator user profile does not work properly, but I have a user profile that has activated the parental control that worked well for about a year and yesterday when this user logs on the desktop comes up, but after that the computer does not respond when that user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.  I ran a virus scan and spyware scan in my user admin profile and he has not found anything.  I don't know what to check.

    Hello rhunter15,

There may be a program to interfere with Parental controls so that we can try a few things to see if we can determine the application or program that is causing problems.

First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.

    • Click Start
    • Click on all programs
    • Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.
    • Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"
    • Click on command prompt
    • Type SFC/scannow.

It will scan and repair any damaged operating system files.

To determine if there is a program because of a conflict, we recommend that you perform a "clean boot" of the computer. A clean boot is designed to disable programs and services in the background as much as possible. This helps determine which service or program can be the cause of the problem.  For more information about how to perform a clean boot for troubleshooting, click the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

KB 929135 - how to solve a problem of performaing a clean boot in Windows Vista.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once you have finished the clean boot, check again and see if you get the error of parental control.

If please post again and let us know if that helped pinpoint the problem or if you still need help.

    Thank you

  • Computer will turn off when the PXI chassis is turned off

    Hello

I realized that my computer is shut down properly if I disable my chassis PXI-1036, until the computer is turned off. Is this a normal behaivour?

As I remember, the chassis PXI-1036 must be turned on until the computer is power on, and I think that maybe on turn it off I have to follow the same procedure.

Thanks a lot for your advice,

    Hector

The chassis must be on anytime on the PC is.  Then it turn on before the PC and turn it off after the PC.

This is because the chassis is an extension of the PC's PCI bus, so he expects everything to be available all the time the PC is powered on, as would be a PCI expansion card.

It could be that the computer is running a little on the hot side and the thermal protection has kicked. One of the down sides to get a pre-generated computer who is yo have no control over the thermal limits. Try to blow out the dust accumulated inside the computer, just him ensure that the computer is turned off and unplugged before you open the side of your computer. You might need a couple of compressed air or one of these mini vacuum computer systems that can act as a fan as well. I hope this helps.

  • Laptop disconnects wireless in 10 minutes the computer is turned on?

I have a Samsung laptop, QX - 411L with an adapter Intel Wireless-N 6150. I live in the apartment on the upper floor of a family house. I use their WiFi. The intensity of the signal was generally poor in my apartment, so they bought a booster to increase the signal. Now my Xbox One and WiFi from the iPhone are faster and my Samsung laptop.

My laptop connects to the WiFi once the computer is turned on, but it just usually remains connected for 10-20 minutes before falling and finally say that there is no connection available. I live in a metropolitan area where there are between 12-15 connections available at any time. I tried to uninstall the drivers, I tried to do system restore, I tried to turn on/off my wireless switch. Nothing that I seems to work. This problem began only after the booster has been installed. Sometimes it is said that it is connected to a network not identified without an internet connection.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated, this was incredibly frustrating. I would be happy to provide you with more details.

  • How can I configure Thunderbird opens automatically when the computer is turned on

Use Thunderbird 38.0 Beta and try to set the program to start automatically when my computer is turned on without success.

The biggest problem is Thunderbird boot tends to be of the I/o intensive, and therefore Windows startup. Add to the incredible run antivirus software and you have a recipe for much longer boot time of Windows (non-linear). The typical question, most users encounter in this situation is Thunderbird delay and giving warnings of Script is unresponsive.
