The computer browser Service 1068 error - dependence or the Group was able to start

I hope you can solve a problem that I'm trying to solve for 2 weeks or more.

My small house nat network - XP Home - was working fine then I found I could no longer see / access files remotely on my network. The other PC can see and access my shared files and the other pc, I can ping and Internet access is ok.

Inspection services do not start: - computer browser, desktop and Netlogon - any attempt to boot from the Administrative Tools / Services results an error 1068 - dependence or the group does not.

I ran the network set up wizard, and I tried to reinstall the network adapter and the drivers but no change. I checked the Web sites and sought suggestions; I checked the registry and dll for as suggested in the articles, but have found nothing.

Any suggestions would be welcome and thank you for your time.

Kind regards

Bob D UK

You must start the dependent services. Dependent services are workstation and server. I think that you start the workstation service.

  • Connection status: unknown. The dependency service or group was able to start.

Greetings!  I have a year old Dell Inspiron.  Everything worked fine last night, but when I woke today I couldn't connect to the internet.  When I put the cursor on the network icon, it says "connection status: unknown."  The dependency service or group was able to start. "My Windows Firewall is also disabled and I can't activate it automatically or manually.  In addition, the Windows Diagnostic tool cannot be turned on, and whenever I try to activate the Diagnostic Policy Service it also can not be done. It says "error 5: access is denied" when I try to turn it on manually.

My antivirus (Avira) software is fully up to date from last night.  I even took it into Best Buy and they did a diagnostic test to ensure that a virus is not the cause.  The guy there said it was a software problem.  I tried resetting TCP/IP (netsh winsock reset) without success.  I also tried sfc/scannow in safe mode and windows without success.  Are there other options?

    Thanks in advance.

When I try to share my internet connection, I get the following error. dependency service or group was able to start

    Hi Jason,

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer network adapter?

    2. How did you try to share the internet connection?

Maybe not all services that run the Internet (ICS) ICS are enabled. I suggest you make sure that the slot addiction services are enabled.

    a. Click Start, select run, type services.msc and click OK.

    b. to activate a service, look for it in the right pane, double-click its entry.

    c. do not forget its Startup Type is set to automatic, and then click OK.

All the following services must be so configured to use ICS:

    Application Layer Gateway Service
    Network connections
Knowledge of the network (NLA) locations
    Plug-And-Play
    Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
    Remote Access Connection Manager
    Remote procedure call (RPC)
    Telephony

After checking and automatic startup for each of these services configuration, close the Services window and restart the computer before trying again to enable ICS.

  • Windows could not start error 1068: dependency or group was able to start the automatic configuration of WLAN set the local computer.

I am not able to start some services to get connected wireless.  In Device Manager the poster adapter works correctly.  The WIFI light is on.  Start Windows Wireless Service bar lights up, but the service does not just start.  I have run chkdsk and several other parts but registry cleaners I keep coming up empty.  Help, please.

I've been sarching for hours and hours... and it's already after hours of working offline with the client in their home... no restoration of the system or the backups... typical noob... but not their fault it happened... I did EVERYTHING suggested. Nothing has worked... Almost abandoned and prepared for a re - install... then I found it at the last second...

    «OMG 911techmedics...» You're crazy GENIUS!

Finally, something works and does not require a complete reinstall of the OS. I was so scared of it because Asus does not save a physical copy of the Recovery Manager on the hard drive, and somehow my backup discs (6 disks, waste of my DVD: O) don't work at all after spending an hour by burning.

What happened was I used RegTweaker to do a cleaning of registry on my Win7, my computer worked faster, but I lost my WLan service and no matter what I was doing nothing worked, until I stumbled upon your post! I have read more than 50 pages of Web/forum sites and tried probably suggested and none of them worked.

    I tried:

    (1) Microsoft Winsock32 Fix
    (2) replacing Winsock dll
    (3) Yes Netsh wlan with the set command
    (4) order of Netsh reset catalog
    (5) LSP Fix.exe
    (6) right click 'Manage' on computer and everything related to the WLAN + dependencies on "automatic".

I spent 8 hours and none of the above worked. Apparently a lot of people have the same problem after using a registry cleaner. He has tried, tested and proven. I did the registry cleaning on 2 computers and next thing I know on reboot, it is that the WLAN Service went AWOL. My first suspicion is gone to a missing or corrupted Winsock, but I never thought that a simple change of 2 files in the registry would solve the problem. Your piece of text was scary to look at in the beginning, but I was so desperate that I was willing to try anything and it really paid off. Microsoft should pay you the man! Their stupid suggestions do not work. For those who like me, I break down the instructions for you:

Step 1: Click the button START
Step 2: In the search box, type "regedt32" (of course, do not include the ""), right-click on the result of the research and the "Run as Administrator".

Step 3: Click 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', should extend out to a list of things
Step 4: Next, choose 'SYSTEM', is expected to increase again
Step 5: Choose "CurrentControlSet", develops again
Step 6: Select 'Services', develops into a great big list of things

Step 7: Click on "Dhcp", the right window shows the files in this folder
Step 8: Double click on "DependOnService".
Step 9: Remove all the words in the text, except "Afd" box, and then click OK. You are done here

Step 10: Then under 'Services', are looking for "EapHost", this should be a few records below Dhcp step 11: same thing, double-click on the file "DependOnService".
Step 12: Delete everything in the text are and click OK. You are finished.

Now close everything and RESTART WINDOWS. Your WLan should be back and work once at startup of your computer. Hope that makes you win like he saved me. Thanks to an original poster for the wonderful of the resolution. Your message has been almost too obscure to find, but I'm glad that this has been RESOLVED! I will be passing the word around to save people from the constant agony of WLAN SVC goes ballistic every time after a cleaning the registry. »

Now then... I was about to wipe the machine flowering in any case, I thought ' what the *', and just did the 12 steps without even a reg backup... AND THIS DO FEAR WORKED!

    Hi DougGowers,

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1:  When the "Error 1068" error is logged, view the dependencies for administrative services tab to ensure that the services that rely on administrative services are not stopped. To view the Dependencies tab, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type services.mscand click OK.

    b. right-click on administrative service you wish to view and then click Properties.

    c. click the dependencies tab.

If the service that depends on the Administrative function is stopped, right-click the service in the Services console, and then click Start. Then, try again changing administrative service.

Method 2:  Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    a. click Start and click run, then type cmd in the box start the search.

    b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator.

    c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    d. at the command prompt, the following line and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

I have window Vista and wireless internet in my house.  The icon that shows if you are connected to the internet has a red x in the way in and he says: "State of the unknown connection of dependency service or group failed to start" I'm sometimes still connected to the internet when it says this, but it disconnects while I'm in the middle of something and I have to re start the computer to get it back.  I continue to have the right message.

I tried to disable the firewall.and it does not make a difference.  Not sure if this helps, but I have Trendmicro Antivirus and spy sweeper from webroot on the computer.  I thought that maybe it was the internet provider, but we went from companies and it has changed nothing.

    Hello

Redefine ALL Windows Services on their default values.

Start right click - type in the search box-> find Services in the high - on - RUN AS ADMIN

    BlackViper - Services
    http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm

    =================================

After him above if necessary reinstall the drivers. If WiFi uses the wired connection and if a cable to use WiFi
and if no work download the drivers on another machine and transfer them to removable media.
Don't forget to try to hit F8 you can start and select Mode safe mode with networking.

    Actually, try updating your driver.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for card (NIC) network and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

    Hello boochbrain,

I think you are right that these files are part of a runtime engine; specifically, the C++ runtime library.  Relocation of these libraries could certainly mitigate these errors you see.

I don't have the Trend Micro Antivirus software installed.
Initially I had Panda, but at random that no longer works, so I then installed Kaspersky.
Everything worked fine for a while now, I have this problem, which is different from the other problem I had with Panda.
I tried to uninstall Kaspersky, and still no internet connection is available.

    Hi KarthiK TP

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it came too late, and I'm done to restore factory settings.
    This solves the problem.

Just to let you know, the step where we had problems is this awareness network (NLA) location. I was getting an error message whenever I tried this step.

That this step did not work, I wouldn't have been able to run all analyses of the viruses online, as I had no internet access.

In any case, I have Windows 7, if all goes well, it is more stable.

    Thank you
