The computer hangs after connecting first time. Dell Support Center will not stop running. Windows has blocked some startup programs.

Last week, I used Ad-Aware, Spybot and malware to scan my computer.  They found several things, but my problems are now: computer falls down after a time of connection the first only.  The center of Support Dell continues to operate for a few minutes, I just cancel now.  "Windows has blocked some startup programs" keeps popping up in the lower left corner.  I uninstalled Spybot but do I have to uninstall the other 2?  During these changes last week, I changed too Trend-Micro (which was nothing capture) to the free version of AVG.  Help, please.  Muzictchr

That you still have a warranty valid then please contact the PC manufacturer and get the machine extracted. • The computer hangs when connecting - if the workstation service is enabled.

Original title: the computer crashes with workstation active service.

I'm currently under Windows 7 Home Premium.

I struggled to the login screen where you choose your user name and it says welcome, but nothing happens. Otherwise, my cursor will come back, but I can't do and ctrl-alt-del does not work either.

I did safe mode, disabled services and isolated the problem to the workstation microsoft service. I understand that this workstation is essential for some components, such as connecting to a network drive, or a network printer.

Now I have to work with workstation service disabled, and it's very inconvenient for my work. Is there a way around it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Were there any changes or updates made on the computer before the show?

    Method 1:

I suggest you run Microsoft Safety Scanner for any malware or spyware infection and check if it helps.

    See also:

The Microsoft Windows malicious software removal tool helps remove specific malicious software and present on computers that are running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, or Windows XP

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

I suggest to create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

    Create a user profile.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

If the new user profile resolves the problem, you can screw the corrupted profile and re - install the applications and programs.

  • The computer hangs after reboot cold.

I just bought a HP Officejet AIO 6310xi. After several tests the OEM package will install not (installation failure). From the Web site and out of the CD/DVD included.

I let MS-Vista install drivers and at least the printer works fine until reboot. Then the system freezes upward. Once I have turned the printer off and restart again the computer starts no prob. I have 6300 drivers and suspect that the drivers are up-to-date and incompatible with MS Vista. My computer is only a year old and during the inspection of the hub USB the draw appears in the settings (below 500 mha).

The cable is less than 9 feet long. I have enough computer resources including backbone RAM and HD space.

Is there anyway that I can get Vista drivers for this printer only without going through an arduous process for a long time?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

It seems that the USB driver are to blame. But after I re-installed the new drivers of hub USB the computer always freezes the re-boot. It is not the most recent, I have found yet. The bios does not seem to be a problem because it is a Dec 2006 re - build. I guess it's a matter of waiting until the USB hub drivers are updated.

  • The computer hangs after installing the latest updates

I installed the latest windows updates.  Restarting my computer later, since hanging / freezing for half a second every 2-3 seconds.  I notice it more while trying to move the mouse or by watching a video (someone who speaks seems to stutter on about every 5th Word).  The computer clock has also been slowing.  He gets about 10-12 minutes behind before he catches upward.  When I look at the Task Manager, I do not take a lot of cpu.  Restarting the computer didn't help.  I've never had this problem before.  Any suggestions?

Often by rebooting the computer solves an immediate problem.

Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • The computer hangs after installing an update from McAfee.

When McAfee performs an update on my computer, sometimes it takes turn off computer and do a reboot before they take effect.  Well, here's where the problems start.  When the computer turns back the cursor will not work, I have no way of online and even less off the computer.  I had to manually shut down the computer and restart with no luck there, too.  I had to resort to a restoration of systems even get the computer to work.  McAfee came with MSN I use and there has been no touble until last month of December.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have dial to connect.
    Thank you very much!

    Original title: McAfee update

Personally, I would recommend dumping McAfee and using a more reliable program such as Microsoft Security Essentials.  Except that if, you should contact McAfee and see why it creates so many problems for you.

  • The computer hangs after resume from hibernation

I bought a gateway in 2007 with Vista Home Premium. Great hibernation worked until 7 months after a windows update (I forget which). Now, when I resumed from hibernation, it restarts and comes up with the screen asking me if I want windows to start normally or in safe mode, etc. Any ideas of what could be the cause? Also now, after I try to bring it from being asleep, the screen is black and the computer does nothing. I have to then it reboot. Thank you.

    Hello Mlhargrave,

Thank you for posting.  I found the solution to the problem of you in a Thread here on this site.

We found that sometimes the BCD file may have problems.

You can try this to fix the BCD file.

    1. run CMD. EXE as administrator

    2. run the following command: bcdedit - enum all

Search for "Summary of Hibernate" in the output of the command above (example below):

    Out of the hibernation

    ---------------------

    identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}

    Device partition = C:

    path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe

    Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered)

    inherit {resumeloadersettings}

    FILEDEVICE partition = C:

    FilePath \hiberfil.sys

    PAE Yes

    debugoptionenabled No.

    3. Once you have found, copy the value of the identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963})

    4. run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

    5. test of hibernation.

Please let me know if this helps you.

  • Computer hangs after connecting external monitors.

    Original title: external monitors

I have a Qompac Presario cq56 laptop, running windows 7 home premium. I connect it to my TV via a vga to hdmi. It works fine when running on battery, but when I connect the power cord the computer starts to slow down and eventually freezes. Also when I plug the power into the screen decreases intensity. The converter has its own power supply. I was wondering anyone has the solution to the problem.

  • The mouse driver and Touchpad Driver for Dell Studio laptop will not work with Vista

I just bought a Dell Studio laptop at new years 2009 with the Vista platform.   I had nagging problems with the mouse driver and the touchpad pointer that were completely related software.  These questions were returning back over the months and months.   I've owned about 10 PCs since 1989 and I've never had a bad result like this.   My wife and I have lost 20 to 30 hours of our time looking after him.   This could have the Vista operating platform?   I suffered so much that I made my decision to seriously consider the range of Apple computers.   At this point, I lay the responsibility for the drivers who did not also work on Microsoft and Dell.  20 - 30 hours can go a long way in learning the OS from Apple.    I am a professional project management and professional engineer and can't believe that something as basic as the mouse driver and the driver of the Touchpad was a goner at the launch of the computer screwup.   I guess that the validation of test have been ignored.  I have never been madder with any computer I've owned.  I learned a lesson from this.   Do not trust Dell or Microsoft in the manufacture of new products.  As far as I know Apple users don't get treated this way.

Sorry, but I really cannot speculate more what happens - or go - with your computer without being able to see the machine. It's the first time, you mentioned a bluetooth mouse and that you have installed the drivers three times. Certainly a bad image would not apply in this case. There are probably other things that pass only someone actually looking at the machine would be able to discern.

However, since this is a new laptop and you are unhappy with it, return it under warranty and buy something else. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to help you. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • CFS3 hangs upwards and will not stop running.

CFS3 worked fine with Vista, but began to hang. Upgraded to Win7 and it worked fine until I defragmented the drive and now it freezes and will not be cut. I even removed the CD and rebooted the system, and I can't restart the game because it tells another CFS3 is already running. I have left because of this problem with Vista. He works very well so far and I'm suddenly incompatible program issues. If the program is not compatible why it worked very well for months? Has anyone else had this problem? It is the only program that I have problems with. I have a feeling I'm going to throw all that _ Quad Core 2.4 Ghz Vista by the window for an old Pentium 3 IBM PC.

After a recent system restore, I met an error referring cannot start software Logitech set point. When I went to remove and re-install this software, I found that it was not present because of the restoration of the system. Manually, I deleted all traces of setpoint and withdrew its wireless mouse. After that I had to rebuild the index file and I've had no problems since.

  • Portege M800 - the system hangs after connecting to fingerprint

I just got my Portege M800 weeks ago and frankly speaking, this model has been giving me a lot of trouble. Earlier, it's heat problem in the palm rest and there is no solution for it.

Now I am facing another problem with the connection of fingerprints. I'm running on Windows XP. I put the system must be locked after 5 minutes of inactivity. So normally after 5 minutes of inactivity, the system will have to be me to scan my fingerprint to open the windows. But there are moments which, after analysis of my fingerprints and put in correspondence with success, the screen will be just white (only show the desktop wallpaper). Not the desktop icons, no taskbar windows and nothing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up nothing and no answer even not a button. I tried to put the system to Hibernate by press the power button once as no response.

So I have to finally press and hold the power button to reset the laptop.

No matter which can help or give any idea of what was going on? Thank you!

    Hello

I believe that these issues are in the past fixed with the new version of the fingerprint reader. Have you tried to install the latest version or you already have?
