The cursor moves at will while I type and live your work I've done. I can trash the model
Is it possible to reduce the sensitivity of the mouse pad?
I have a laptop that is still under warentee. It has been in the repair shop and I contacted HP support twice. I can't type a full sentence without the cursor to jump to another location and screwing up what I already typed. I know there is a double click on the mouse pad to turn off, but this is unacceptable, because I have to keep turning to move the slider to a different spot to activate a function then shut off again. I can be: go back to HP for a real computer, or, let the neighbors dog chew on it for a few days then throw it in the trash? I have a HP printer that works fine for me, but for the money spent on this computer, I do not think that all other HP products are in my future if this problem is not resolved quickly.
At this point, there wasn't anyone who seems to understand how to fix it. The phone Wizard really tried to find a solution, but it probably wasn't something that was covered in her flip chart.
I had other computers and not one of them was like this... Maybe I bought a top of the cell line for no!
It is a Pavilion dv6-6149nr.
It is run out of warentee July 1st of this year. I am discusted with it and the lack of help for the problem. I've set up with this problem for long enough.

My daughter uses the option to go back and save your work before closing down as a way open to passing the family safety settings. When she is about to be disconnected because of the time limit, she knows that three programs open with live data on them (like playing content in YouTube, chatting and playing an internet game all at the same time) he will come to the top and he the opportunity to go back and close its data. It completely negates the purpose of the limits of time. Because it doesn't then go back to the top and stop her. It falls just the problem completely. I don't know that this is just a gap in the family of security software. But thought I would ask to see if this option can be disabled, or if there is a way around it.
If you find the Parental control in Windows help, he will guide you to articles online for the safety of these two parental controls & family. There may be a solution in the event of children in one of these roads.

Satellite R850 - cursor moves at random while typing
I use this R850 because it was provided by the work.
I found it almost as frustrating as the HP, I got to my previous job... and it's for the same reasons!-The cursor moves randomly, then when typing I find I type completely in the wrong place.
-It removes random pieces of my work - particularly frustrating on a web page where there is no "undo" button
-When you use functions like drag in the editor, or highlight text, the touchpad is not always cooperative.
-Some random/spaces etc. letters do not occur despite proper pressure.Quite frankly, it takes too much time to do things and I want to throw out of a dam in a deep lake.
No liquid has been spilled on it.
Are no crumbs in the keyboard.
This seems to be a defective product as the "HP Elitebook" I got last year! This happened to me because I accidentally touched the touchpad while typing.
In my case I could solve this annoying problem issue but the option settings: disable the touchpad while typing. This setting should be available in Control Panel-> mouse-> avancΘs
The other option is to disable the touch pad using the function key

original title: Keyboaed shortcuts?
Hello, anyone know how to stop the computer, close the current program and save the work using only the keyboard in Vista Home premium?
Thank you for your time and efforts to this issue.
Kind regards
Jazzie5.
Hello jazzie5,
In addition to what Tom SC suggested, you can close a window or the current program by pressing Alt + F4.
The common shortcut for recording of the work is CTRL + S. I advise to use this command before you press Alt + F4 to close the program, although many programs will prompt to save your work if you do this before you save it manually.
Bonus keyboard shortcuts:
Task Manager: Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC
Close the tab in the browser: Ctrl + W
Switch between tabs in the browser: Ctrl + Tab
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Windows Live Mail error code 0 x 80070057 Port 465 Server smtp.gmail.com Protocol: SMTP. Help, please. Usually, he will send the next day after the fighting with him but in work associated with that I have emails on the same day.
Hi Gary,.
Was this job before or is this a new problem?
Also, just a note: make sure that your SMTP settings are correct. Gmail requires that your SMTP server settings have enabled authentication, so within your parameters of Live Mail you want to make sure that the check box is clicked.

Remote Desktop Connection cursor moves across
When I am connected to my desktop computer at home through Remote Desktop connection, the cursor moves around itself as I type (usually during the seizure of e-mails) and things open, close, minimize, start typing in a different place in the document that where I put the cursor, etc. This happens only when you are connected via the desktop remotely. Never, it happened to me on my most old laptop with Windows XP, but is constantly past now with my new laptop with Windows 7. Help!

Recently, whenever I try to type so that Firefox 9.01, the cursor moves to the left while everything is written backwards. I can normally type into a word document to have done with it and cut and pasted in this message. I use Windows XP. I closed Firefox and restarted my computer twice with no success to solve this problem.
Maybe this recent thread on the issue even helps.

Original title: cursor problem
When the cursor of the hit goes and makes me angry. I am very troubled by this question. due tho it takes me too long to type a single paragraph. Please find me a solution.looking forward to hearing from you soon.DeepakHi deepak,
This is almost always caused by accidentally touching the touchpad on a laptop (I guess that's what we deal here). It happened to me and I found it quite boring (and it took me a while to diagnose). Test by typing in a very uncomfortable position with hands almost vertically above the keyboard and absolutely and definitely by far come the touchpad. If the problem goes away, this is the cause, and there are several possible solutions.
First go to start / Control Panel / mouse and see if there are any parameters to set the sensitivity of the touchpad. If so, set it so that it requires a much more difficult to work - key then maybe your key light that you type will not cause the cursor to move.
Go to your computer manufacturer's website and update your touchpad driver (you must also update the firmware or software) to those most recent appropriate for your operating system provided on the website (even if it seems that it is the same thing) for your laptop model and your computer. If there is an update for the keyboard as well, install for just to rule out it as a cause.
Once done, go to start / Control Panel / mouse and check the settings. There may be one to set the sensitivity of the touchpad, so it takes more strength to activate and this can help - which is also good he'll get without turning off completely (and then you need a mouse). In my case, a Dell, I could not pay enough and ended up finding a laser wireless mouse and turned off the touchpad to solve the problem. I don't plan on using the mouse at all (and in fact, find it more convenient, because I never liked the touchpad in the first place).
If this does not work, you have a mouse, you can use instead of the touchpad (and the option to disable the touchpad when using the mouse) to test if that solves the problem? If so, then the problem is almost certainly the touchpad and the procedures above are pretty good your options. If this does not work, then you have a keyboard, you can plug in and use instead of the keyboard of the laptop? If so, try and see if it makes a difference. If so, you will need to be replaced the laptop keyboard or use the separate keyboard.
If none of the works above, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135. If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem. Follow the procedures described in the article. Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall. Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.
Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here. A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

the cursor jumps back to this line and the line above. Very frustrating! Problem is in Windows 7 to purchase; correction was made when I bought in January 2010.
Have reconstitute last month and the problem reappeared. Can't seem to fix. ;
This unit has a cushion of tack Synaptics, and there is a setting in the drivers called "Palm Check" or something similar. Check it tells, basically, the touch pad to try to detect when it is your Palm (in typiing) compared to a finger.

If I just powerdown (overnight), leaving a/c, connected, the cursor appears and moves, as my mouse moves. HOWEVER, if I powerdown and completely disconnect the PC, 110V, to keep safe from one close shot of lightning, THEN the problem appears. After the storm passed, I plug the PC into the 110 outlet, turn on the computer and restart it. The cursor appears in the center of the screen, but it will not move when I move my mouse. THE ONLY THING I can do is hit briefly, the power button to turn off the back and then click New to reboot (twice now)... then the cursor appears in the center of the screen and moves when I move my mouse.
Yes, I still think it's the battery. If the computer is turned off but still plugged into the wall, food always provides a small amount of power to the motherboard to keep a ready"" State. In fact, if you stop it, but keep it is plugged, you can send a packet to 'Wake-on-LAN' through the Ethernet that would then turn on your computer so you don't have to press any button at all. This requires that some things are always under tension even when the rest of your computer is turned off. Remove the plug from the wall removes this standby power and now the BIOS of your motherboard must hold his memory by falling back on the battery.
HTH,

The cursor moves randomly when you type the new e-mail message
When I type an e-mail message in Windows Live Mail, the cursor will suddenly be at the beginning of my message, or maybe in the middle of a Word. I don't know if I'm a touch that I'm not aware of, or if I have a fault with my keyboard.
Hello lobelia 3206,.
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.
Since you're on a laptop, I suppose that you have a right of trackpad under the keyboard. It may be that you hit the trackpad with your wrist or Palm when you type.
Try to change the sensitivity of the mouse and see if that helps or if you have a setting to disable the trackpad when you type. I have
Click Start, control panel and select slider and change your settings in there...I don't know where the settings would be for the Compaq Presario but you can always check with the manufacturer to get the correct settings for your laptop.
I hope this helps.
