The desktop icons: sort by name > 2 tris, sorta... where is this a 01.abc - simple > z list view?

I'm having a problem with the icons sorting Office.
There are about 60 icons on my desktop. A bouquet, I might add a multiplicity instantly. When I right-click on a vacuum of space on the desktop and select sort by > name I get 2 tris:
1 the party 'all users '.
1 part of my profile

and then there's old Windows icons that appears first in the list as are not part of a tea / which was the cottage.

Uhm?

P.S.:
I tried this (setting) after installation on several windows 7 built... the latest version (7068 w32 is the last that I caught through usenet after cancellation of the torrent, Can not beat usenet service & I'm on TechNet Plus) even sorts icons windows differently whenever I have even perform the same type of name?
Although windows is clear it is grr...
Just do a right click Sort by name and that's it, the platoon of the desktop icons in order of alpbethical?

  • How can I change the color of the title/name under the desktop icons?

name under the icons on the desktop?  help please!

How can I change the color of the name/title under the desktop icons, I know how to rename then, but his hard tosee the front they are white outline...

    Hi, Judy,.

You can change the text size

Control Panel > type the color scheme

    Select Customize

    Select display (left index finger)

Under change only the size of text, select icon

You can also check the option for "BOLD"

Do not forget to click on apply when finished

Because desktop wallpaper images have different colors, it is easy for the colors of unreadable fonts if they are on top of the same color in a background image to display. For example, a black font on top a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The desktop icon fonts are dynamic and show white on dark background and change in white with a shadow effect black on a light background.

  • How to unlock the desktop icons albums?

There is a ringing sound when I click on the desktop icons and nothing happens. How can I get the "unlocked" I don't know how it happened.

    I have to ask - you've restarted?

Also - have you tried under a different name?

    What about another mouse?

And finally - if you have a USB keyboard - unplug unit after getting connected and try it then (perhaps a stuck key).

  • the desktop icons disappear when I connect through a VPN

On my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, SP1 system, automatic reorganization and snap to grid are unchecked.  And I don't have problems with icons on a restart.  I have problems when I access my system in my home using a VPN and the DRC.

Sometimes when I connect, I find that most of my desktop shortcut icons have disappeared and the few remaining ones are reorganized.  It happens every time and I did not understand a common denominator as to when it occurs.

I copied all my desktop shortcuts to a folder on a different drive if I can put them all after they disappear, but when I copy and paste them on the desktop, they do not return to the same places they were in front.  Instead, they are lined up on the grid starting at the top left and go down and creating more columns until all the icons were pasted.

So, I have to manually, drag and drop them where I want them to be.

Like others who interrogated him about the desktop icons, when I right click on the desktop I do not receive a "Properties" link as shown.  I'm getting , sort by view, refresh, paste & paste the shortcut, cancel deletion, New, screen resolution, Gadgets and Personalize.

I also tried another solution that said"right-click an empty space on your desktop and Select the desktop icons.  When I right click, I get the menu described in the previous paragraph.  Then when I start to clicking on icons to highlight, the menu disappears.  If I pointed out all the icons first and then with the right button on the desktop, the menu and the highlighting disappears.

How can lock the desktop icons?  I agree with the donor who asked a parameter for "don't mess with my desktop computer EVER.

    Hi Jane,

Given that the problem seems to occur when you access your system from home using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and RDC (Remote Desktop connection). I would like you to post your question in the TechNet forums for help.

  • Unable to access the photo viewer; and also cannot access the desktop icons because they are changed to the photo viewer icon.

Original title: I tried to apply the photo viewer to open a file and the photo viewer icon replaced each icon on my desktop. Now I can't open anything on my desktop. What is going on?

The name is below the icon, but the correct icon has been replaced by windows Photo Viewer icon. When I click to open it, it says: windows Photo Viewer cannot open this photo because Photo Viewer does not support this file format, or you do not have the latest updates... I don't know what I did!

  • XP... The desktop icons will not put

XP... The desktop icons will not put. I did a lot of research on this issue, read the different responses on many forums, including and have tried much of the recommendations... I'm not familiar with the functions of establishment of the arrangement of the desktop icon and this is the first time I met this kind of problem. "Lock Web items on desktop" is checked, "Snap to grid" is not checked (my preference, but I find that it will check mysteriously itself after the icons rearrange themselves to the left of the screen, apparently by making use of automatic reorganization, even if it is not checked), I tried securityguy14 registry change response dated December 7, 2009 , have installed and use the program "Icon restore" that changes the Recycle Bin, my computer, and another icon of office, I do not remember to add a backup/restore function for the setting icon on the desktop... is what bought me a brief period of mental health before they rearrange themselves after a few constantly unidentifable strike entered sometimes without "rhyme or reason", not unique to anything, preventing me from shrink down to a specific cause. I conducted several audits of malware with paid and free programs and there is no indication of anything invading my system, it works fine other wise. Help!

  • The desktop icons and taskbar disappear when windows has finished starting - any of the usual things help

I have a Windows XP Home Edition with a breath main card computer.  Replaced the Board, PS and other items.  Then re-activated windows and everything was fine.  Until the last moment, I rebooted after activating it.  I have the problem that I have seen posted in a bit.  When Windows has finished initializing all the desktop icons and task bar etc. disappear.  Nothing works.

I can bring up the Task Manager and manually run programs, etc.

Believe me when I say I spent reviewing EACH reference to this problem... Yes 5 days and counting... Tried them all.

I also tried a repair of windows in place which ends without any problem (twice)... but still no icons or taskbar.  I also ran several controls of virus, including one for the virus, which is usually the cause of this problem.  (fsnimda3.exe), I tried all the ideas in another thread (page 9) and many other institutions.  Before I did the reconstruction of the material I've cloned the original hard drive and have used the disc cloned juggling his original for the back.  Even tried to reinstall the old disk and do a comparison of sector by sector, in the case where my cloning process missed something.  In the 30 years I've been in the computer business I have never had a re - format a hard drive to solve a problem.  BUT I think it will break my record.

I'm doing this as a favor for a friend.  But at this point our friendship is really put to the test
