I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Toshiba laptop computer on a network that also has a Synology Diskstation 710 +. There are other Windows 7 machines that continue to work perfectly with the NAS. My LAN is only small, so I run a working group called "WILF" owned computers and NAS.

Nice try, but this isn't an answer very nonsense similar to most of the HP answers I've seen on the forums.
-J' already have the l3 uninstall and reboot, as already indicated in my original post.
-L' computer already has the latest version of Flash - over this software has nothing to do with communicating with the scanner.
-The software is already downloaded from HP.
However, I have repaired and it is perhaps what made him. I'm not positive:
-J' ran 'bpd_scan_Carrier.msi' which is in the folder "setup\bpd_scan" by right-clicking and choosing "update".
-J' also ran "BPDSoftware.msi" which is in the folder "setup\bpdsoftware" by right-clicking and choosing "update", but I don't think that it did.
-J' have also installed the Photosmart program but I don't think that that had nothing do with it. When you run HP diagnostics program, it is said that what needs to be installed for scannig work.

No, at least not by us.

The VMware Workstation Server service stopped with service specific error %-1.
Hi, when I try to enable sharing in Workstation 8 GTR | Change | Preferences | Sharing virtual machines, I get an error Impossible to configure the workstation server. Check the event log, I found they were trying to start the VMware Workstation Server service that does not start (even when you try to start it manually) and the following error is recorded "the VMware Workstation Server service stopped with service specific error %-1." by the Service Control Manager. I found no additional cases related.
Running on Windows 7 SP1 x 64. The port is set to 7443.
I also tried to find a newspaper there instead of vmware, but neither found anything related; However I could have missed something.

I have Workstation 8.0.1 installed on two laptop computers each running Windows 7 SP1 x 64... the shared component of the virtual machine runs on one but not the other. On the machine that I have problems with I uninstalled Workstation and reinstalled - without success. What I ended up doing to replace the datastores.xml file in the Directory go (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\hostd) on the laptop with the problem with the file datastores.xml of the laptop that works - success! I knew that there was a problem with the file because I've been poking around and noticed that the datastores.xml file is not open for editing - it was corrupted.
I have attached the file to this message.
Change of the
section at the location that you store your shared VM (be sure to not use a UNC, which breaks the service as well!). I hope this helps.

My daughter's office got fried during the last storm, even though she had a surge protector. Obviously the power company line was bad. The pc seems to have gone to a previous set point during the boot, but now she can not install software and doesn't seem to have Norton AV more. When she tries to run a system restore it gets "extended attributes are incompatible."..: thank you for your help. Debbie

Run the scan tool (SFC) System File Checker and check if it helps.
This problem may occur if a system file is missing or damaged.

So I recently had my password wrong too many times and my iPhone 4S locked out telling me "iPhone is disabled; Connect to iTunes'. And so I connected to iTunes and decided to restore my phone. I finished the process of restoration of the configuration of my phone, but ultimately, it was not even let me in the phone! Once AGAIN he said "iPhone is disabled; " Connect " to iTunes '. Suddenly this week 7 Windows has stopped working and the error message said I might have a non-genuine copy, etc. I checked the product key by using the Start/computer/properties menu. The product key was not the same as on my PC, so I tried to get the right version. Then I got the error message that you have entered the product key will not work with this edition of Windows 7, and I want to run Windows 7 set up or enter a professional product key.
I saw that someone else had been advised to run MGADiag.exe so I've already did but am puzzled by the report. And I'm worried, why me nice Acer desktop PC suddenly did that, when he had worked happily with normal updates etc. The report shows a different product to the label of my PC key.
Can someone help, please

When I try to use the system restore, I get this error as follows... (an unspecified error has provisioned & you files have not changed) I get this same error even using different activation & restore points. I don't know how you can even get an UNSPECIFIED error, seems to me if a mistake has provisioned & he knows it's a mistake he would know what is the error. In my opinion, this error message no sense at all... I'd be happy to hear this error message explained or all thoughts. Thanks for any help...

I'd say it's because of incorrect permissions or corrupted registry entry or registry that exceeds 8 KB.
Also change to vmxnet3 NIC and install vmware tools and try cloning.

For me, the problem was intermittent (same registry key would sometimes cause the issue and sometimes not - must be corrupted sometimes) so it was impossible to tell what program it was. Fortunately, there is a newspaper, you can watch that will tell you exactly what registry key is slightest mistake out. Here are the steps to get the newspaper, you must see:
When you see the error message, follow these steps:
1.) press SHIFT + F10 to get to a command prompt
2.) stand C:\windows\Panther
3.) find the Setup.etl file and find a way to copy this file out of the system (I copied it to the partition D:\ and Ghost used to collect this partition and down the file)
4.) copy the file to another computer that has Windows 7 setup.etl corrupt system. Place it at the root of C:\ for easier access.
5.) open a prompt on the Windows 7 computer.
6.) navigate to the root of C:\ (or anywhere where you saved the file)
7.) type "tracerpt setup.etl o logfile.csv.
8.) close command prompt and open logfile.csv in your text editor of choice.
9.), look in the log file (near the end, probably) for messages that say "Failed to key"reg"process or one of its descendants" to me, the exact eror looked like this: "failed to process the"reg"key or one of its descendants: [profile \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Plugins\01000200\Profiles\@My] ' If you search for"«key reg"' or «failed in the process»»» You should find the failure.
10.) remove this software from your image, or how to get the registry key that does not work properly.
After that, you should be able to correctly identify any key problem and the elimination/workaround on your image.
