• How to connect to the Essbase Server?

  This question may seem a little on the vague side - so apologies for that.
  
  From a point of view version 7 - the Essbase server interacts with the database server (where you load the data into Essbase of) through the defined system DSN & the TNS. But how a typical user connects to the Essbase server when using excel add to recover data?
  
  To expand a bit on this - in our environment, when a user attempts to recover data using excel add in - a box "Essbase system Login" initially appears, where the user enter the name of the essbase server used, with their own username and password. But to enter the name of the server - how excel add in physically know where to go to get data? Is there something else on the client computer where the server details are stored (ie the ip address) - a sort of equivalent DSN?

  I am trying to load metadata from Oracle for Essbase.In the Essbase database server, to all the credentails are correct. In the model, I use OracleDIAgent (no local agent), context Global RKM Hyperion Essbase.

• Problems with the configuration of the Essbase Server

  -J' have a simple environment with a single Foundation Server with only the Foundation services running on it (only the basic components installed). On the same Essbase server, I installed (by default) foundation and Essbase components.
  -I am facing a problem with the configuration of the Essbase server. All steps complete with the exception of the last step: deploying web applications (APS and EAS) to the WebLogic Server.
  -FYI, I am deploying the web application to the existing domain created on the server of the Foundation. As all products must be on the same domain.
  
  
  During deployment, the WebLogic administration server reports the following error:
  
  BEA-149003
  Cannot access source application information in /opt/shared/apps/hyperion/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/products/Essbase/eas/server/AppServer/InstallableApps/Common/aps.ear for application "APS".
  The specified error is: there is no file of the application.
  
  
  Now the path and the above files exist on the Essbase server, but not on the server of the Foundation. So after playing with the WL administration console and reading of Sandeep post [1], I came to the conclusion that:
  1. the Essabase components must be installed on the Essbase server, but not configured.
  Now, this means that I need to install all the components on the server of the Foundation, even though I only will use to deploy the services of the Foundation which seems a little ridiculous?
  2. create a new domain on the Essbase server, so the EAS/APS will be deployed on the Essbase server - but will not be on the same domain as the other products.
  
  Well, I am a newbie with WebLogic and so would welcome your valuable contributions!

  You should should not create a new domain for deployment on other servers and can use the existing and only to deploy web applications on the servers that you want running on.

  I don't know what version you install, but if it's 11.1.2.1 then consider the OS is similar on both machines
  "All Web applications in a deployment of EPM system must be deployed on windows computers or on all UNIX machines."

  There do not appear to be there in 11.1.2.2 so I guess it isn't the rule more.

  Today I connect with essbse eas logon, then when I select the essbase server is down and I can't help, essnae eas is bloked.

  I have connection EA using the Internet link and after that I have added the Essbase server, but even after adding and the updating of the Essbase server list, I am unable to see the Essbase Server

  You probably use JRE 1.6 instead of 1.5. I had the same problem and this fixed it.

  Yesterday, I installed the OEPM 11.1.1.3 and was able to install and configure Essbase, Shared Services and planning.
  Even I accessed applications to sample (Sample-> basic). Today when I tried to access open console its raise an error.
  I stopped the essbase server service and tried to boot from the start menu. But the essbase server does not start. I checked the newspapers D:\Hyperion\logs\essbase and gives the following messages:

  Connection refused from ibm:1521
  This could be up to oracle not in place and running, a network problem, a firewall problem.

• Cannot open a session in the Essbase Server

  I installed Shared services and Essbase, I did "Externalize users" in Essbase. It happened with success. I understand on that Externalize user
  
  "Essbase executes in Shared Services mode and in this mode, Essbase create permission to modify the user becomes obsolete. You must be an Essbase administrator to manage users, and you must also be a Shared Services administrator to manage users of Shared Services"
  
  Is - this exact please validate. If this is correct, if you change the password to the shared services and synchronize the native directory to shared services, Essbase should work with the new password, but it is not happening when I try to connect the Essbase server it throws the below error.
  
  "Error: 1051293: connection fails due to invalid credentials".
  
  Is there something else that needs to be done in this process. I don't have a clear idea about this Externalize users can explain one.

  In addition. Once you move the security in Shared Services, you can manage security for Shared Services. You need available to the user in the Shared Services to have access to both 'Analytics' servers, for example, "Server Access" and to the Application, for example 'read '.

• Forcing errors when loading essbase nonleaf data loading

  Hi all

  I was wondering if anyone had experience forcing data load errors when loadrules is trying to push the nonleaf members data in an essbase cube.

  I obviously ETL level to prevent members to achieve State of charge which are no sheet of error handling, but I would however like the management of the additional errors (so not only fix the errors).

  ID much prefer errors to be rejected and shown in the log, rather than being crushed by aggregation in the background

  Have you tried to create a security filter for the user used by the load that allows only write at level 0 and not greater access?

• Not able to connect to the essbase server: error 10061 NW

  I am currently working on Hyperion 11.1.2.3 and have installed Hyperion essbase and planning for the same thing. Until a few days back I was able to connect to my server essbase in environmental assessments, but now it gives me error that says: error: 1042006: Network error [10061]: unable to connect to [WIN - 1K6GBOF63C0:1423], where WIN-1K6GBOF63C0 is my machine name.

  The error being generated using relates to Essbase is not able to connect to the registry of SSP database, or the database is corrupt.

  Are a set of services to automatic, maybe that the database has not increased and running prior to Essbase trying to boot against the register of Shared Services.

  Confirm the relational database is finally up and running and you can connect, then clear the Essbase logs, start Essbase, and post again the same newspapers.

• [Recovery] Move the Essbase server to another physical server

  I have 3 part of EMP 11.1.2.1 Solaris Server environment:

  Server1.company.com:

  • Foundation, APS, EAS services

  Server2.company.com:

  • Essbase, Essbase Studio Server.
  • Installation on a SAN using Userid hypadmin drive

  Server3.company.com:

  • *Nothing installed here *.
  • His case Server2 breaks down, the standby server.

  Note: I couldn't find documentation for my approach below... So please understand the risk involved before trying the same thing.
  Prior to disaster:

  • I copy the base directory of hypadmin to Server2 to Server3.

  During disaster recovery:

  • I update the host name Essbase server from Server2.company.com to Server3.company.com and similarly update the opmn.xml file.
  • Finally, mount the SAN on Server2, and start the services.

  Anyone has done the same... ? Have been facing problems? Is there a better way to do this?

  I think that the usual way to proceed is to have a DR environment, rather than a single server (so for you, you would have 2dr servers). DR environment has entries from the hosts file to map the host names of Production at the addresses IP of DR.

  The RD you are connected to a separate instance of SQL and you install and configure products exactly as you would for Production (exactly the same names).

  Finally when you are finished you stop the DR environment and on newspapers SQL data bases of Production and DR.

  If your Production environment breaks down you stop SQL log shipping, then you can bring up DR and change (if necessary) DNS names to give access to your users.

  For the storage of Essbase you can save Production to DR cubes or mount SAN Production DR. The only problem with it is that if Production falls down and the SAN is lost, you cannot bring up DR entirely or the other.

  I put the file Beaver - 1.3.1.jar in the plugin folder. Then also same error. I can see the BindXmlDescripto.class file in the jar.
  What could be the reason.

  You must put all the jars in the WEB-INF/lib directory. This should solve your problem.

  The Developers Guide on "Create a Plugin" describes what is happening in the WEB-INF/classes/plugins directory and what is happening in WEB-INF/lib

  I couldn't connect to Essbase server and a service to opmn works not as well. Hard at this issue not accessible planning application, kindly help us this is very urgent and very crucial for us.

  Problem was solved after reinstall & reconfig (without uninstalling) box-2, after that I could use planning an application as usual without error.

• Ignore the ASO - zero data loads and missing values

  Hello

  There is an option that ignores the zero values & the missing values in the dialog box when loading data in cube ASO interactively via EAS.

  Y at - it an option to specify the same in the MAXL Import data command? I couldn't find a technical reference.

  I have 12 months in the columns in the data flow. At least 1/4 of my data is zeros. Ignoring zeros keeps the size of the cube small and faster.

  We are on 11.1.2.2.

  The thing is that it's hidden in the command Alter Database (Aggregate Storage) , when you create the data loading buffer.  If you are not sure what a buffer for loading data, see loading data using pads.

• Studio of Financial Reporting does not allow to connect to the Essbase Server

  Hi all

  I installed 11.1.2.2 studio HFR (32 bit installed via the workspace) on my machine, and then you be connected in the Studio.

  When I try to create the Essbase inside connection, it throws me following error:

  "Unable to connect to the server.

  "Connection to the database connection login error: error: error getting CSS support for driver [com.hyperion.ap.aps.Driver] information".

  An idea to solve this problem.

  I tried following, but it's also not helping:

  -Run the command HRRunAnt.cmd script in the directory "D:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialReportingStudio\products\financialreporting\install\bin".
