The feature 'Play To' Windows 7 Windows Media Player plays only one item in the playlist

I've used this feature in the past to play a playlist of video files, but recently when you try to play a playlist of MP3 files, I encounter extremely undesirable and incorrect behavior.  If I try to use the feature of "play to" WMP to play an album of MP3 music to my active DLNA home theater receiver, with success, it will play a song on the list, and then she repeated constantly that the only point until I manually hit the fast forward button or the rewind on the console of the player to a different element.  (Or double-click on a different entry.)  He did the same thing that I did a right click on the album and allows you to 'play' for the album, or if I add playlist to play each file individually to window.  I also tried to create a playlist in WMP and using play from here the exact behavior even.  There is absolutely no options or in the Play To WMP window in general, who seem to control this behavior at all, so any suggestions would be appreciated (because from my point of view, it's a rather massive bug obvious that I have no idea how he managed to pass in fact any sort of quality assurance tests either).

1. the music files on the local computer? If not, where are they?
2 do you have this job ever for you with music files?
3. what brand/model home theater receiver?

I'd be curious to know if you have a problem with other DLNA software. Some people have
used http://www.kooraroo.com/download.php (there is a free trial version). This is not a
endorsement of this software - an alternative to try.

What are the file format of the files shown in the subfolders of the library?

    Follow these methods.

    b. for Windows Vista: click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player , and then click OK.

    Step 2

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Windows Media Player will only play a sound with no video .avi and .mov

I started having a problem where the Windows Media Player will only play the audio portion of my .avi and .mov video files.

These files were created by my FlipCam or my Sony Handycam.

I never had problems until recently and think that it is due to some kind of Windows Update.

Both my computer and my wife's computer had the same problem and we are both using Windows XP Home Edition.

I apologize if this topic already on this forum.

Thanks for any help and advice.

    CoDec = compressor decompressor.
A program is used to compress the file. You then need to unpack the file to play, you need the codec used to compress the file to decompress it on your pc.
You need DVD playing software installed to power the mpeg codec, or you can buy a codec to just run in media player.
AVI is a wrapper and may well contain more than 800 different file types, it has 800 different codecs!  Thus, to read an avi file, you should know what codec was used to do and have that installed on your pc to read.
DV.avi is made with the dv codec, divx.avi is made with the divx codec.
Of course, that manufacturers make their codecs, you must make sure you have the latest being, to be able to read files made with it, so everything just because you downloaded the codec divx 12 months ago does not mean it will play files created with codecs of today!

I hope this explains it is ok for you.

It surprises me that you say that you have downloaded all the updates of altest, but are still running wmp9, where we are now on WMP11 for XP and 12 for win7.

I would update my WMP version first.

Here is a page that will tell you that the codecs are on your pc and who has access to WMP 11.
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/HowToFindCodecs.html

Here is a page that will tell you how to know what codec was used to create the file that you are trying to watch and also if you have the right codec for it
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/AVIcodec.html

It is generally accepted that the codec packs adding is a bad idea, so if you need a codec to read a certain file, google it's manufacturer and just install the one you need.

I would work just on the pc at the same time when you found what the problem is, you can fix on the other 2.

Need more help with this, just ask.

Original title: Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 8 - will not tear, will not allow rip parameter changes

Recently started Windows Media Player displays this error message when I tried to rip CDs: "Windows Media Player cannot extract one or more tracks from the CD." When I checked the rip settings, I found that no location has been chosen, even if I had chosen a location when I first set up WMP over a year ago. When I clicked on the "Change location" button, nothing happened, so I'm not able to choose a file location. I downloaded and Fix It (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows-media-player-diagnostic-Windows-8/en-us) from Microsoft allows WMP and the library, hoping this would solve the problem, but the problem persists. After that, I also found that none of the rip settings can be changed, not only the location of the file. I get an error message that "ripping settings could not be applied" when I try to change anything on the tab music Rip under Options. I found a support of forum responses that mention a registry fix but does not provide any details on how to achieve this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

Ripping allows you to put the titles of your audio CD on your PC. When you rip the tracks, they become digital files on your PC.

There are two places in the Player library where you can customize your settings and better to make ripping work:

    • In the Rip settings menu (with less choice customization).

    • In the Options dialog box (with several choices of customization).

Method 1: run the tool library, Windows Media Player and Windows Media Player settings and check if the extraction is possible.

    Step 1:

a: press the logo Windows + O to open the search box.
    b: Type Troubleshooting, press ENTER.

    c: now, click on programs.

d: and then click Windows Media Player  library.

    Step 2:

a: press the logo Windows + O to open the search box.
    b: Type Troubleshooting, press ENTER.

    c: now, click on programs.

d: and then click Windows Media settings.

Method 2: Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

  • Cannot use the feature set in windows media player for Onkyo TX - NR609 Receiver Media

Original title: Onkyo TX - NR609 Receiver Media

    Hi all

I have the Onkyo TX-NR609 and it works great except for streaming music from windows media player. When I click on the 'play to' it will show the name of the amplifier and model number which I click on and then it opens the player where it will then tell me that "an error has occurred on the device" and then she'll tell me under the song that tries to open that "the device cannot be controlled."

I have no idea what could be the cause and that it is a little frustrating is an understatement, onkyo iphone app works fine and I am able to listen to different radio stations as well as I have access to my windows media player via dlna library but it is a bit tedious so I don't tend to use it as well.

Anyone had similar problems? If so I would appreciate any help you could offer, I was hoping it would be more directly towards the front and then it and exchanging the receiver for one with apple airplay but it brings another problem of having to transfer music between laptop-itunes-iphone/ipad then invert to remove the music and then do the same bloody back and forth. Apple had to do complicated things don't have.

    I am using windows 7 32 bit

  • Cannot use the feature set in windows media player for Onkyo TX - NR509 Receiver Media

I have the Onkyo TX-NR509 and everything works fine except for streaming music from windows media player. (I can sink my iPhone to the receiver box and can even navigate to my music box cylinder head and all the Games very well).

When I click with the right button on a song and select "play to" and then select the amplifier box "play to" appears and after a while an error message appears "cannot retrieve information about the UPnP Server media."

    My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7 (Windows7 64-bit)

    I made a few simple troubleshooting;

    1. under Network TX-NR509 shows as a support device and I installed the drivers.

    2. I checked the options of streaming media and my receiver is set to "allowed".

    3. in WMP, I did of course "allow the remote control of my player" and "automatically allow devices to read my media" are both checked

4 reboot the router & mobile.

I have no idea what could be the cause and to say it's frustrating is an understatement.

I'd appreciate any help you could offer.

  • Torrent video plays fine in Windows Media Player, but only audio in Windows Movie Maker?

I downloaded a video torrent on my Windows Vista laptop. When I went to play in Windows Media Player, it works fine. However, when I try to play it on Windows Movie Maker, I can place only the file in the audio section / music, even if it is listed as a .avi file, when I import the file and drag it on the timeline. There is no red X or any sign of a problem with the actual file. When I go to preview, I get only a black screen, as expected when playing audio files. I checked super files supported for Windows Movie Maker, and .avi is supposed to be a supported video format.

I've downloaded xvid on my computer and it is before I even started with torrents. I know that this translates to the game in Windows Media Player.

I tried to download the same different torrents and I get the same problem each time a different torrent site, so I know that's not the real torrent.

I went to tools > Options and unchecked the box I had, which was the AVI decompressor, and the problem persists.

I don't want to convert the video file, unless it is absolutely necessary. If I need to download something, I will do, as long as you point me in the right direction.

I ask this question because I see only problems with the .avi Windows Media Player files, and I want to edit the file to make a music video.

    Any help is appreciated!

It turns out that the only way to solve my problem was to download Windows Movie Maker 2.6. Now, I can actually edit with ease and use the original .avi file without problem. I still don't know why I had so much trouble with the version that came with my laptop, but now it's the only solution that has actually produced results.

  • Why windows media player displays only the names of original files?

Windows Media Player only shows the original file names that can be confusing if I changed the name of a file. The name of the file (usually audio files) is correct in Windows Explorer, but in the component list of WMP, it's often the old file name. Why is this and what can I do about it? Advice would be appreciated. TA. Kevin.

What the file type of these music files (MP3, WMA, WAV...)?

WMP usually displays the title tags of the music file, which is independent of the file name. However, WMP always displays the current file name in the path column of the file, which can be activated by right clicking on a column header and select choose columns.

  • Windows Media Player sound only during video playback

Windows Media Player won't PLAY VIDEO (MOVIES); ONLY SOUND CAN BE HEARD.

Can someone please?  I go crazy - my windows media player will not play anything except the sound on videos (films are so far the problem).  She claims codecs are updated automatically, I'm too scared to download some unknown codec. Volunteer J ~ THANK YOU very MUCH FOR THE REPLY! I WILL RESPECT ALL THE SOLUTIONS YOU HAVE TO OFFER!  From what I can tell, they are my videos (movies) transferred from the cd to the media player.  Videos of "sample" provided pre work ok.  My films all have the extension .avi at the end, that's why I don't understand why they will play only the sound of the film, not the actual Visual part. . AVI should be accompanied by my windows media player.  As I said, I'm pretty decent to deal with such things as a result of working with a lot of "technicians" in recent years; This is why I do not bother anyone here, but I am at a loss for what to do. If it's codecs, I don't want to take the risk to download a bad codec and corrupting my system.  Already checked the updates of Media player, there are not available at this time.  She has also set to automatically download codecs.  Man, it drives me crazy!  ConfusedOne70 aka Michelle

  • Windows Media Player 11 does not show my CD playlist automatically; "Find Album Info" in library works, if...

Hello and thank you for reading my post.

I just configured Windows Media Player (WMP) 11 after that he downloaded automatically by Microsoft Update and is surprised that, when I insert a CD purchased in the store in one (1) of my two 2 CD drives, he would recognize that a CD is here and with the right number and durations of his songs, but it would NOT automatically identify the CD and these songs.

I found that I could get this information by manually entering the library (even if I don't permanently transfer the tracks on my hard drive at all), right-clicking on a tracks is on the air and by selecting Find Album Info... a few steps after that and all is filled in the playback in WMP, but the NEXT CD requires the same steps for ITS information appear here as well.
