Original title: MP3 Association.
Hello
Hello
I have 64 Ultimate, I had a problem with the version number of WMPLOC. DLL, see the attachment. I run Kaspersky AV completely up to date.
There is a lot of info on the net and none have worked in this newsgroup on how to fix this error however.
I tried to change the version of the file with resource hacker and I tried all the dos commands to save the version of the file, but it worked only partially.
I to WMP do not have access to the list of start/programs, don't y at - it programs in one and the list of features "Turn Windows features on or off", my desktop shortcut has been for version 32 bit and who made the error, as did double click an MP3 file.
I have 32 and 64 bit versions of WMP on my PC, I created a shortcut on the desktop for the 64 bit version and it works however I can't associate MP3s with the 64-bit version, dialogue 'Open with' reverts to the 32-bit version (and I get the error) even if I chose the wmplayer.exe in 64-bit file , I tried to rename the folder WMP 32 bit for windows does not find the exe file in this folder and it uses just Quicktime for the association.
Y at - it a fix for this problem of association?
Thank you
Daniel
I guess you need go to the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer as well for this. There should be a shortcut to this version in the Menu start - all programs. Tim Baets

Recently when I tried to play an Audio CD using Media Player, I get the following message: "the file wmp.dll has a version number of 11.0.5721.5280 where 11.0.5721.5268 was expected. Anyone know where I can get the 32 bit version?

You can follow this link & check if the problem persists.
After the WMP update you an error of wmploc.dll on version number incorrect
Reference: Windows Media Player is not properly installed and needs to be reinstalledHope the helps of information.
Please post back and we do know. -
I don't know how or why it happened, but one day to another, WMP won't open. I tried to open an MP3 file, and he says that WMP has not been correctly configured "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft Website? ».
I assumed that since I had to make some updates yesterday, that he was at fault, it had installed an update/new version of WMP and it was either buggy or doesn't work do not, so I went to the Windows updates, but no recent updates on the list had a remote connection with Windows Media Player.
So, I accept the first proposal of the error message, and I'm headed to the Windows Media Player download page on the Microsoft Website. However, the version I should install (which was the one I already had) has Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7. But this option is locked for me, and as I tried to install it, it says it is not compatible with my system. Not to mention, it's a whole package and not just the WMP installation.
I tried everything and nothing seems to work. It won't even let me uninstall WMP because it won't let me open.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. And the error messages that I get to try to launch any WMP feature (the tool, the installation program, no matter what), opens an error window stating that "there is a more recent version of Windows Media (12.0.7601.18150) player already installed on your computer. It is not possible to use and more old (12.0.7601.17514) installation package to install files or repair your current version of the reader. »
Please, I ask for any intervention in this case.
This arises from time to time, but I don't think that there is a difficulty of 100%.
You can try (in no particular order)
- uninstall, reboot, reinstall WMP- http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26107/how-to-reinstall-windows-media-player-in-windows-7-to-solve-problems/ if that doesn't help, try a SFC/scannow check - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
- There is this diagnostic tool - http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/ that can help (from http://support2.microsoft.com/fixit/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0 )
- You could try a system restore to a date before the problem occurred to see if that helps - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/system-restore-faq#1TC=windows-7 and see if it gets a WMP work back
- Last resort, a repair install - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html
- Or just simply forget about WMP and try another party 3rd multimedia player that you can install and uninstall at will, as free VLC - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
But it may be worth waiting a while to see if someone else has a better solution.

* Original title: Windows Media Player
I recently updated my Windows 7 and now my Windows Media Player will not work. The following message appears: Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled.
I don't see where I can download the Windows Media Player for Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.
If you have a ' normal/standard' Windows 7 version, then see if it deletes, reboot, reinstall, reboot the help method - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26107/how-to-reinstall-windows-media-player-in-windows-7-to-solve-problems/
If you have the "n" or "KN" W7 version, you may need this - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16546 (check that is correct for your version 32/64 bit W7 etc link)
If this does not help, try a SFC/scannow, and then try to use the above for your type of windows. -SFC https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/929833

Running Windows 7 home Premiun 64 x. Click to open the program the message pop up "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. You want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site? "that it takes to the site and there is no available media player Windows 7, installed WMP 11 does not work either. Tried to turn on and back on... did not work
Do you remember the last time that your Media Player worked properly? You can use the system restore (type it in the start menu to find) to go back on this point. This restoration takes about 2 minutes and will not affect your files - no matter how far you go. It simply restores your system files and settings.

Windows Media Player is not installed correctly. Reinstall the drive.
I am running XP Home and WMP v11. I get the following message when I try and play some files: "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly. Reinstall the drive.
In the past I had to go back to WMP 10 to 9 and reinstall when this happened, but when I triedthis method , this time it did not work and said that he could not uninstall.
The songs have played fine on WMP in the past and they are the ones I've owned for years rather than months.
I can't think that I changed something on the PC to save this change, but clearly I.
Any ideas?
Try to download and reinstall
