  If you haven't already done so, try to do a hard reset, hold reset button of the router for at least 30 seconds with the power connected to the router, and then reconfigure as needed.

  Since I use your & AT T DSL, you can reconfigure the DSL modem, so it don't the PPPoE connection and then reconfigure Type Automatic Configuration - DHCP Internet connection router.

  There is another question that may arise with an AT & T DSL modem. My Speedstream 4100 & AT T DSL modem put the IP address 192.168.1.1 for the router WAN/Internet port. If the router is configured to the default settings, there will be a conflict between the modem and the router and none of router devices connected will be able to access the internet. The solution is to change the IP Address of the router to the router on 192.168. 2.1. Restart all router connected devices after you have made this correction.

  1. you must turn off the DHCP server on the WRT and use instead a DHCP server on your gateway internet (or another DHCP server). The DHCP server assigns the default gateway for clients. It must be the correct internet gateway. Do not use the DHCP server on the WRT.

  2. the WRT will never accept a default route. It is designed to be the internet gateway. It will always use its own IP address as default for DHCP offers gateway (if the WRT DHCP server is enabled). It will always be to route internet traffic to the internet port of the WRT which must be connected to the internet.

  Just, simple, with your wired computer (never wireless) access the GUI of the router and perform the update of the firmware.  Just point to the .bin file and you leave.  Make sure you reset the router and reconfigure it once you're done hard.

  My setup is Arris of Motorola Surfboard SB6141 cable modem connected to the Cisco Linksys e2500 router which is connected to a desktop computer.  Then I have a laptop and mutiple iOS devices for WiFi connections.  Everything worked fine and then... I installed a new cable modem (SB6141) so I don't have to pay Comcast $10 each month.

  Everything goes well at first with the Office to connect to the internet just fine.  However the wireless devices were all redirected to the activation of Comcast page.  After an hour on the phone with Comcast and a complete reset modem they said that everything is going well at their end and with the modem, it must therefore be the router.  I called Arris anyway, since it was the new component and I could get free telephone support, but they also said it was a router problem.

  So here I am.  I hope that someone can help you.  I've already updated the firmware 2.0 which did not help.  I did a factory reset and all reconfigured.  But I'm back in the same boat.  wired connections are working but wireless connections redirected to the activation of comcast page.

  My gut tells me this is a screwup of Comcast, but I hope that someone here has seen this before and knows the solution.

  The linksys Web site works fine now. If you still have problems, you must connect the computer directly to the modem for download.

  You should not open the firmware file that upload you to the server. Do not open it with any application. Do not change under any circumstances. All you have to do is to download the file and upload it to the router through the web interface. Download the firmware on the linksys site. Save it to your desktop.

  Then, open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/ which is the web interface of the router. The default password is "admin". Search for the function of the firmware upgrade. It's usually somewhere on the Administration tab. On the firmware upgrade page that you see a browse button to select the file to load on the router. Select the downloaded firmware file. Press the upgrade button.

  Do not interrupt the download. It is recommended to disable any firewall or anti-virus while accessing the web interface for the firmware update. The process should not be interrupted. Otherwise you can find yourself with a router of bricks.
