  This problem has now been resolved.  I went in my computer > tools > Folder Options > file Type, select the type of file and clicked on advanced then > change and changed back to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows Media Player.  I had the idea of a response posted on this forum about a different issue, but who pointed me in the right direction.

  To start, I read in countless discussions here on iPhoto glitches and patches, so I hope I'm not repeating this question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere I had a question after question with iPhoto (mainly around several accidents after organizing photos into albums that made the album organization and this issue I describe below) and is considering moving to Adobe Bridge just to have a reliable place to store my photos without worrying about the constant pain. I realize that no program is immune to glitches, but the volume and the frequency that I've had with iPhoto is unmatched (which led me to wonder if it is just a user error, but I honestly can't understand for the life of me). So I describe my current number below, in the hope of resolving the issue so that either A. I can fix and give iPhoto a chance more or B can I ensure that my photos are safe and intact before transfer to another program.

  Some of my iPhoto albums appear empty with no sticker and say '0' when I fly over the album, but the photos are there when I open the album. I have rebuilt the thumbnails, and it has not solved the problem. After the other issues that I had with iPhoto crashes, I made sure that all updates have been installed. Unfortunately, I don't remember if I've rebuilt or repaired the database, but it seems that all my photos are present, all mixed together and some showing in the albums 'empty '. Here's my question: is one problem, other than being boring? And should I switch to another program, or have I missed something?

  A few details:

  • I have rebuilt thumbnails today and it took 5.5 hours. It seems completing without problem, but has not solved the problem.

  • I have my computer fully backed up on an external drive to Seagate drive as Mac OS extended (journaled) as well as iPhoto backed up separately on the drive as well.

  • Looks like I have a "library" and "alias."

  • I use iPhoto to organize my photos. I use Photoshop to edit. I love the feel of iPhoto, but I lost hours and hours trying to organize and solve problems.

  • I use iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3 OSX 10.8.5 / / MacBook Pro processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

  More worrying is the issue of the repeated questions. How you use iPhoto and Photoshop together?

  Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its function of reconstruction. (In early versions of the Library Manager, this is the file-> control Rebuild. In versions later it is under the menu library.)

• Windows 8 can't find my SATA drive (2). It does not appear in disk management, but it appear when I open the tab of properties on any drive and click displays all disks. What should do?

  I bought a new computer (custom build) and Frys Electronics put it together for me.  Disk 0 is a 128 GB SSD, 1 disk is a SATA 2 TB drive, and disc 2 is a 1 TB SATA drive. Readers of 0 and 1 have been configured correctly when I installed Windows 8 but Drive 1 was not found\initialized. Player 2 does not appear in the disk management window, but when I click on properties on any drive, and then on the "hardware" tab, the drive appears.  If I can get windows to find it, I can go configure manually.  DiskPart cannot find disc 2 in the 'LIST' command and when I get in car 2 on other commands that require a number of disc, nothing happens.

  What should I do?

  I ran an old Western Digital (the two SATA drives are WD) diagnosis and there are 1 OK to drive.  I tested it and it doesn't have a writing that test a few zeros.  I thought that it was a bad drive and I must return to the seller.  The next morning I tried the WD diagnosis again and this time he passed.  The app then allowed me to format it and it assign a drive letter.

  It seems to be OK now, but I'm not load all the files on it again.

• Why my email with indicator does not appear in my Inbox mailbox "tagged"?

  I don't know if it's a matter of iMac or a matter of BONES... it was happening until I upgraded to Sierra and used El Capitan.  The problem started about a month or two ago.

  I am able to email from flag that I want to keep at hand and my box (in the Favorites bar) shows 'spotted' by email that I have flagged 167 messages... but when I click on the Flagged mailbox on the sidebar, it is empty.  Although just after I upgraded to Sierra, with message indicator began to appear in the box to the letters of the sidebar, but now shows nothing.  I used to be able to click on a flag at the top of the Inbox of mail and it would show all of my email with an indicator, but with the new configuration, it's gone.

  Then someone can help me figure what to do to show my email with indicator, I would be happier.  It's really a pain to have to scroll through all the mail in my Inbox to find flagged messages.  I know I can do a search, but sometimes I do not remember what to look for!

  Navigate to the folder of the user library. This folder is hidden by default. In the unhide: select the Finder in the Dock. Less go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you will see the library.

  • Access to containers.  Drag the com.apple.mail desktop folder

  • Navigate to the Mail folder.

  Select the V4 > MailData folder.

  Delete all files in MailData with envelope in the name. (or 3)

  Open mail and it will re-index your files and create a new folder in containers. You can remove the container if you are satisfied with the results.

  BTW, are one of your POP accounts? If so, I suggest strongly convert you in IMAP.

• The partitions are missing and I can't send it back again!

  Hi I'm splitting partition D to two partitions by AOMEI Partition Wizard. blue screen suddenly appeared (my victory is 8) and completed 100% on blue screen and froze! I didn't except reboot the computer, so I have no choice. Then when it restarted the PC, I opened my computer and lost two partitions (including the separation one)! Yet once, I opened the wizard Partition of AOMEI and I could see the partitions, but without a letter! He even showed me how is complete and free! But I don't have access to the files. I tried to give a letter using disk management. But he said: view of the Disk Management Console is not updated. I even tried diskpart and list volume. It does not show that it is not allocated part. I need my files on one of the partitions. How can I fix? Thank you.

  Thanks for your help, Rajesh Govind and kitchgoan. I needed my information on these drives, so I could not delete the partition. But I fixed that and I don't know how! I shared the D partition (it was GB 370), 310 GB and 60 GB partitions. After the accident, he showed me only 60 GB as drive D partition and there no 310 GB partition and another partition missing too (drive F)!

  I start a setup of windows 7 and deleted the partition D and it created again with the same volume (60 GB) and then I connected my windows 8 again. He showed my partitions with all the information I've had! and I still don't know how! : D.
