  Your result from step 1 is exactly as planned... the built-in Wizard GMail via IMAP, which is used for email only. To add the calendar or contacts to an IMAP configuration, you must separately configure CalDav or Mac OS x Server.

  Your result, however, in step 2 should not... it is indeed the exact method to integrate a Google Apps account with BB10 device, as long as you continued this process and fill in all the mandatory fields (server name, port, account information, etc.).
