the hp photosmart 8450 printer has an internal hard drive memory?

I am have this printer and to make sure there is no personal information remaining.

Hi Justwantono,

HP Photosmart desktop printers do not have an internal memory that stores digital images, copies or prints.  Make sure that all cards in the slot in front of camera has been removed.

I hope this helps.

My OfficeJet 635 has a hard drive inside that I have to wipe before you send it away?

(suggestion: this issue hit the heyday of media this last fall.) It is encouraging that HP has a section of significant support on their Web site that addresses this issue, but it's too complicated for the Home Office. I don't have any big assessment or security implementation tools; I just need to know if there is a hard drive in my printer. A simple list printers with the answer (yes/no) because everyone would be enough. ;-)

    Thanks in advance.

    Scott

There is no hard drive in your Officejet 635.  With probably a few thousand printer models, there would be no such thing as a 'simple' list, but the following can help:

    • HP Officejet and Deskjet printers: none have hard drives.  Some do have photo cards slots, make sure that there is no card in the slot before getting rid of the printer.
    • HP Photosmart printers: most / all models have slots for photo cards, make sure that there is no card in the slots.  The units of Office sizes have no hard drives.  Some of the small portable units (which print 4 "x 6" and 5 "x 7") have hard drives.  Examples: Photosmart 475.

The following are for the most part outside my area of expertise, while others may have more details:

    • HP Laserjet printers: some models have hard drives.  See the manual for more details.  I know the Laserjet, Laserjet + Laserjet II, Laserjet III, Laserjet 4, 4 M, 4L have no hard drives.
    • HP Designjet printers: some models have hard drives.  (I know the Designjet 430, 450, 650 c, 750 c have no hard drives).

  • My HP Photosmart C6100 has an internal hard drive?

I'll give my HP Photosmart C6100 to my friend.  What should I do before I give it away (to be sure, almost)?

    (1) have an internal hard drive I need to erase data?

    (2) even if it doesn't have an internal hard drive, should I erase memories?  If so, how can I do it?

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hey IMA788,

The Photosmart C6100 line series doesn't have an internal HARD drive to store printed information, etc..  However, there is information stored in the fax journal of the device such as phone numbers, etc.

If you have not used the fax feature, then you wouldn't have the information stored in the log of faxes and would have nothing to fear.

If you used the fax feature and want to remove this information, I then the steps to perform a full semi handed over to this printer.  I will send this information to you in a private message.  Please read Bob_Headrick wire on the printer reset, found here, before you perform these steps.

  • HP Photosmart 8450: Printer cartridges

I have a HP Photosmart 8450 printer, which currently has 3 cartridges in it - 97 HP, HP 99 and 100 HP.  I have trouble finding the 100 HP cartridge, which is a gray Photo cartridge.  I do NOT use this printer for printing photos - I just use it for ordinary printing.  My question is "Is there another cartridge that I can use to replace the 100 HP?"

    Thank you!

The 100 cartridge is used only for photo printing.  If you do not print photo I suggest remove the cartridge 100 and leaving this space blank.  For the best economy printing on plain paper, you will want to replace the cartridge 99 photo with a black cartridge 96 as well.

  • the internal HARD drive has been corrupted and I fails to make the back upward. need information.

I've owned an HP Pavilion dm1-LQ862PA #UUF, used to be windows 7-64 bit. the internal hard drive has been corrupted and recommended to replace another. they were asking for the backup cd and I failed to do, and I do not regret it. Well, except to lose all my files and programs that I installed, it will also include bluetooth, wi - fi and other important built in programs? I'm not a computer expert. If ever these important programs had totally disappeared, how retrieve it? my laptop in an HP authorized service center will be probably expensive and I decided to buy a new HARD drive and ask someone to put it in and install a new OS. Please help thanks

    Hello:

There is a support for your PC page where all the software drivers to run the hardware on your PC such as bluetooth and wireless can be reinstalled.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/product?product=5079502 & CC = US & DLC = in & LC = on & query = LQ862PA & Tool=.

What I don't see is the availability of recovery disks to reinstall the operating system (windows 7 64-bit) or your PC programs (other than those listed in the link of support above).

This means that if you want to replace the hard drive, you must make your own W7 64-bit installation media and use the 7 product key of Microsoft windows on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.

That assumes you can read all 25 characters of the product key windows 7.

    Here's how...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

The replacement hard drive should be a 320 GB SATA II 5 400 rpm Disk If you want the same specification provided with your PC hard drive.

Please refer to Chapter 4 of the service manual on the link below for the procedures for removal and replacement of the hard disk.

  • has had to replace the internal hard drive! need help!

Hi, laptop HP HDX - 1056CA

My internal hard drive is totally dead after 2 years (warranty expired), and I had to replace it. I dropped in the new hard drive. But I don't know what are my next steps

Do I really need to refer to the recovery discs - and they will work on a new hard drive? -I don't mind send away if that's what is needed, but I can't recover my old data, I hope that I can just download the drivers and leave with the machine... (also I go to work on Monday for 2 weeks at an oil rig, records will not be here in time and I won't be able to stay in touch with my friends and my family like the network is very limited as to what we can access if the computers in the Organization).

can I use my desk top of the page to download and burn the recovery discs? can someone link me to the right place (HP HDX16 - 1056CA).

My other question is that I have upgraded to windows 7 from Vista, when I ask to do recovery disks I have ask for the vista version and upgrade again (will be microsoft / the computer accepts the only time only upgrading key again?)  or should I go for the version of windows 7?  I need to re install the windows original vista and then switch again to win7, being that the computer has been configured for vista before the upgrade.

Thank you very much for any help or insight people can give me! I really appreciate it!

    Hi all

I had a BBQ and three guests oil and gas software and refused to feed them until thelaptop has been fixed.

They threw the XP disc across the room and were able to start the player directly at the exit of the disk upgrade of windows 7 using the Custom Installation option.

I'm afraid I can't give you more information, others that there is no need to first load the XP or the use of the USB box with the zip file in in order to recognize that the new installation drive.

Thanks everyone for all the help offered here here.

  • Internal hard drive has all of a sudden the write Protection

    Hello

My internal hard drive has suddenly developed the write protection and has resisted each of my attempts to change this. I found issues related to external hard drives, but have not met a subject that bears on the disk system hard to develop this problem.

The last State of operational activities that are known:

My main hard drive read/write functions were fine the day before. The only things I did today were the usual activities like browsing the web, watching videos, etc.. The only thing I did of note has been download a Steam game, which required the U-Play from Ubisoft. I installed the game and U-Play, so the game went very well. Then I played another game of steam which does not need U-Play, then attempts to transfer files on a USB key.

Steps taken to solve the problem:

When you try to transfer files, warning "the disk is write protected" appears. I thought that it odd, as I had never met this caveat on this PC before. I discovered that all the files in the C drive have been suddenly write protected. My attempts to solve this problem include:

    • Deactivation of 'Read only' file level and folder settings. The settings app doesn't seem to be a problem, but the moving folder gave the warning and she returned to "read only".
    • What allows all permissions for the users and system Admins for drive C properties > Security (I found it odd that users have all permissions, when I clearly remember all the usual permissions enabled previously)
    • Reboot/boot scan running for drive C to properties error checking > tools > error checking, which reported no error.
    • Opened as administrator command prompt and entering 'diskpart', 'list volume', "select volume #', disk clear readonly attribute, readonly attributes volume clear." The clear drive has reported a failure, while the clear volume reported a success.

None of these steps have managed to solve the question of write protection. Might this problem be possibly related to the downloaded game, or the program U-Play from Ubisoft? Is there something that I missed? What can I do else? I have documents and files that have not been backed up, but I don't want to lose.

Thank you for reading, any help would be appreciated!

I'm really sorry for your time. The culprit is revealed to be the key USB is write-protected, not the drive internal (phew!). I guess I panicked a bit and don't think to test with another stick of memory, which transferred files very well. Problem solved, I'll just reformat the wobbly flash drive.

Thank you for sticking with it, even when I probably don't have too much sense, you have been very helpful and patient.

  • Cannot access the files from the internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead

I can't access the files from an internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead. I think that my files are still there, as shown in the volume of the player volume ~ 500 gb which is almost completely full. But I can't access most files, including documents and settings. When I took 'ownership' of the folder, I could open the TI but then it showed everything that was in my documents and settings on the computer file I used to open it, not the documents of the car.

Uhm... I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what you watch.

If you want to access your files from the old hard drive - you need to look in the right place.  If the old system was "Windows 7", "Documents and Settings" is the * wrong * place to look and "Users" would be the place to go.

You * will * take ownership and change permissions on ALL (you want to propagate to all subfolders/files when do - to save time) in order to get them properly.

New-->: Windows Vista/7 would have your files located in the directory 'Users' of the root of the drive - and then under your username.

    • \USERS\\Desktop\
    • \USERS\\Downloads\
    • \USERS\\Favorites\
    • \USERS\\Documents\
    • \USERS\\Music\
    • \USERS\\Pictures\
    • \USERS\\Videos\

    ... etc...

Documents and settings to WIndows Vista/Windows 7 is a symbolic link and would lead to what you see if you tried to use it.

    Product: F9J38UA #ABA

    Model: 17-e117dx

    Thank you

Not in the way you probably do. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See Page 50. Unlike the Envy 17 and Pavilion dv7, Pavilion 17 has that a single hard drive Bay. The only way to add a second hard drive is to remove the DVD (optical drive) and insert a DVD to the hard drive bay adapter. The manual shows how to remove the DVD player and you can buy the adapter at amazon.com or jacobsparts.com. Note that this is a 9.5 mm thick disc, not a 12.7 mm. Both types are available. I do not recommend the adapter DVD player solution because you lose the use of the optical drive, and also because the interface of optical drive is usually not as fast as the main hard drive interface. Always fast enough for simple storage and you can run a video of her, but you do not want to edit the video of this disc, for example.

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

If you decide to go the route of adapter DVD I would buy a large capacity 5400 RPM SATA 2.5 inches wide and drive hard thickness 9.5 mm. No sense in buying a reader more expensive high-performance.

  • HP dv6 envy: want to know on the best internal hard drive to replace it with

Hi friends... I return my hp dv6 want 3 years and it has worked well for me so far, but since last month, everytime I turn on my laptop, a message is popping indicating that YOUR HARD DISK has FOUND YEAR IMMINENT FAILURE AND there NEED TO BE REPLACED and I studied a lot of posts here regarding this problem and everyone was asked to replace it with a new one. I don't know what drive should I replace it with. Could someone please help me in this regard. I need the following details:

    1. where can I find new internal hard drive HP ENVY DV6 1 to buy?

    2. can we replace this hard drive with the hard drive to other companies? (such as seaggate)... If so, so, please let me know

    3. can I replace the hard drive with a hard drive of 1 to solid state?

    4. links to vendors who sell internal hard drive?

    Please help me friends...

The answer is Yes in all areas. The laptop will accept any 2.5 inch wide disk SATA 9.5 or 7 mm thick and which includes mechanical hard drives and Solid State drives. Where are you located (one country)? Hard drives and SSDS for laptops are a part of the goods. You can pick them up at a Best Buy or Frys if you live where there are no Frys or you can use amazon.com or newegg.com or similar online service. The prices vary a lot, so it is useful to get a good deal. A 1 to SSD can run more than $300, you know. Need instructions for installing and/or migrating software? We are a bit like McDonalds here in the Forum... served billion regarding replace drive hard/updates to level. One of the specialties of the House, so to speak.
