The installation of Vista Service Pack 2 failed

I had been facing a blue screen often enough lately when I downloaded the SP2. Windows has responded by "Windows can check the bluescreen the next time u log" but he wouldn't do anything.

After downloading steps 1 and 2 were full. Step 3 0% would come the blue screen and the system will re-start. After that restart againit seems to 0%. So I chose, at the next restart, Mode without failure. Stage 3 took about an hour to reach 100%.

And then he said that SP2 has been installed. Windows come back back change.

Now, everything's fine. no problem at all. the system is normal.
Only problem is that I don't get the option to install SP2 again.
View these latest updates, he said SP2 failed.

And I fear the same blue screen appear again if I somehow managed to get their hands on SP2.

Aid to the blue screen and retrieve SP2.

Hi Multiloop,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.
I recommend you to perform a restore of the system to a point prior to the installation of SP2.

* [Make sure that all security software (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, etc.) are temporarelly disabled].

  • Windows Sidebar problems since the installation of Vista Service Pack 2

I installed Vista Service Pack 2 today. After the installation of the windows sidebar has stopped working. For example the actions of Gadget, Gadget of the currency, in fact all of the gadgets that require a live stream display the message "Service unavailable". Some gadgets loading is no longer at the side bar, double click on, for example Weatherbug & multimeter (D).  I tried a system restore, but the problem remains, so I did an extra restore to indeed to reinstall Vista Service Pack. I also reset the router and Modem

I tried to remove the gadgets from the sidebar and load it again but the problem still remains.  So I decided to download gadgets again on the Microsoft site but when I click on the link in the window "Get more Gadgets online" link does not work. This problem is only since installing Vista Service Pack 2 any what help you can give me to eliminate these problems would be most appreciated

    Tony,
Have you checked your firewall to see if the file sidebar.exe is allowed?  When you have downloaded the update it probably resets the security settings for this program if your firewall blocks most likely it.  First try.

Have you double checked the control panel for the side bar to ensure that it was activated?  Again, the setting could have been modified by the service pack.
Try this, it includes a section "fix it for me":

  • Problems printing MS programs after the installation of Vista Service Pack 2

After installation of SP2, I can print is more than MS Word. I can print from the web, but when I send something to print from MS Word, it seems to go to the printer, but nothing happens. The printer icon shows in the task bar at the bottom of the screen but no document is displayed as pending and nothing prints. I tried the suggestions I've seen on this forum including to perform a clean boot and run the System File Checker. To solve the problem. I do a lot of printing of the word, so it is a major issue for me. I can't keep running at the public library to print my documents! Aaaaargh.

You tried the simple expedient of detection/repair or Office Diagnostics, depending on your version of Word.
Check with the manufacturer of your printer that does not have a printer available update driver?

  • Some files have been moved and are inaccessible after installation of Vista Service Pack 2

For several months, I had been unable to install the latest updates of iTunes, always get the message "Could not access network location %AppData%". Recently, I realized that I had apparently never installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 and the practice which finally allowed me to install iTunes 9.2.

The problem I have now is that one (or two) of these Service Packs created a new profile user labelled 'TEMP' folder and that's where all my iPod apps seem to have "evaporated" to. I say evaporated because iTunes cannot locate, and when I access the folder of the user 'TEMP' (even using my administrator account), I found only a few subfolders (AppData (, LocalLow, Microsoft, CryptnetUrlCache), and those are all empty.  Either way, my administrator user account no longer shows upward at all when I use my 'normal' user code

Making windows for .ipa files search is the only way I can see same registrants, but then when I try to open the location of file (Mobile Applications C:Users\TEMP\Music\iTunes) I get an error "the location is not available", which suggests that the information may have been moved to another location.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Service Pack 2.

Hello, I tried to install on Window 7 Home Premium x 64 SP1 several times today, and all end up with failed with the same error code. (error code 0 x 80073701 - the reference cannot be found). After you install SP2, my computer starts is no longer.

When I turn it on, it brings me to a black screen where I can choose to start windows normally or let windows search for a solution to the problem. I tried both - NOTHING WORKS.

I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date, let windows search for a solution, everything you can possibly do on the options list. Whenever I have let windows start normally, it brings me to a black screen that says "!" 0 x 0000034! "177/76190 (_0000000000000000.cdf - ms).

I am extremely frustrated. It seems that Microsoft has ruined my computer. Looks like I'm about to become a defender-apple... Unless this issue is resolved as soon as possible.

Have you tried the system restore, without success.

See if that will fix your problem:

Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
