  With Lightroom closed. Go to your user_my photos_lightroom folder and see if there is a file with the same name as the catalog with a LOCKING .lock extension, if yes remove the file locking and you should then be able to open the catalog.

She finished the project and exported in Media Encoder properly. After encoding the project could not be opened on his machine. However, I opened the project successfully with no problems on my machine.
