The linker error multiple symbol definitions

Hello

I brought a DAQmx project based on Linux to LabWindows CVI 2012 PXI. After completing all the requirements of the conversion and compile successfully, I'm getting tons of the following linker errors for different modules files (just stick

a subset of these here):

Several definitions of symbol '_PtrToPtr64' in modules X and Y

Several definitions of symbol '_Ptr64ToPtr' in modules Z and Y

Several definitions of symbol '_HandleToHandle64' in modules X and Y

Several definitions for the "_HEAP_MAKE_TAG_FLAGS" symbol in the modules X and Y

Several definitions for the symbol '_TpInitializeCallbackEnviron' in modules X and Y

.....

I found this message: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabWindows-CVI/CVI2010-clang-link-errors-with-Windows-SDK/td-p/1425690

that points to a known issue in CVI 2010. However workaround (allowing the C99 compilation option) is already defined in my project, so this solution does not apply.

Any idea what could cause these symbols windows.h get redefined?

Thank you

Some of the Windows SDK functions, can have the same name as the functions of LabWIndows/CVI. Is your Windows.h file before all the other header files? See the following article for more information: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/69C82671913CAA4986256E9400676E17?OpenDocument

    Hi Vimala L,.

    under Windows, you need to add the DV_WidgetBin.lib library to your library includes or just use $UI_PLUGIN_LINKLIST macro that contains this library.

    On Mac, it is included in the framework.

    Hello.

    I am trying to solve my problem of error connecting for a few days, but I can't find the right answer. I have already searched the forum and read some threads with "undefined symbol link error", but they are not fitting to my problem.

    What I'm trying to do: I want to communicate with my Softing profibus card. I includes all the header files in my source code and also I have included both .lib for the project files. But the mentioned error will not leave.

    It is curiously when I choose "Go to definition" in the context menu, CVI is the good statement in the right header file.

    Who can help? What's wrong?

    Best regards

    Hey,.

    one of the LIB provides this function, Yes.

    But now I got it. I checked the Options 'building' and change the 'default calling convention' to '__cdecl' (should be default) '__stdcall' and now everything works fine with this function.

    I would like to say thanks for your advice =)

  • ... Unable to solve link error

    Hello

    I have created a catalog of products and keep coming up against an error with 2 images in the catalog.  I've identified why I get errors, but I am powerless to resolve the link error. What happened was the customer gave me a name identification to each of their products, but when I sent the project of the catalogue to them they discovered a product has been incorrectly identified and sent the catalog for corrections.  The solution is an easy solution; simply change the names of the 2 images in the directory, go back to the catalog and change the name of the product, alto I am done!  Well, I thought that I made the file main InDesign is the link to the product images that I have renamed, the images are the images that I need, I simply changed the names, but it does not recognize my main InDesign file.

    Any ideas?

    Select the pictures, one at a time, in the links Panel and click the icon to repeat the link at the bottom of the Panel (at the left end, looks like a link in the chain) or choose repeat the link in the context menu in Control Panel. Navigate to the folder where your amd pictures are stored select the corresponding remamed file.

  • Undercoat created in relationship to the bad idea of symbol?

    When break the link to a symbol the content is put into an Undercoat. I see no value in the present and I am constantly having the new layer. If it's a group, it would be simple because the groups exist not without content, but the layers need to be removed. Does anyone else have this handle, or you can convince me that it is a new idea? I'm sure that it happened not in CS4.

    Symbols can contain layers in CS5.

    If the instances cannot be a group after the breakup of the link, as the groups cannot contain layers.

  • Error 5000: The class 'Particle' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' because it is linked to a symbol in the library of this type.

    Running Flash CS3, I looked at the tutorial from lynda.com on strengthening the systems of particles in ActionScript 3.0 to create a few sparks shooting in an animation.  I'm stuck to what I think is a point really basic, but I can't seem to cross it.  Basically, all I'm doing at this point is to create a class called particle (that I'll learn to do things that the particles to make a little later) bind it to a MovieClip on the stage in my .fla file and use the function to update the particle to move it around the stage in a way defined in the instance (so I can later give properties of different movement to) each as an instance generated the MC).  I know there are easier ways to accomplish my basic task without loading an external module, but this seems to makes it so I have to hurt something very simple, that I can't see so I thought I'd post the code here and see what I'm missing.

    I start with a file called Particle.as in the same folder as my file Test.fla Spark.

    In Particle.as, I have the following code:

    package
    {
    import flash.display. *;

    Particles/public class extends MovieClip
    {
    public xVelocity:Number;
    public yVelocity:Number;

    public void Particle()
    {
    xVelocity = 0;
    yVelocity = 0;
    }

    public void update (): void
    {
    This.x += xVelocity;
    This.y += yVelocity.

    }
    }
    }

    So, I declare that all the particles are built with no movement, but if they are explicitly granted an x or y velocity, they will pass by there a lot when updating the instance function is called in the timeline panel.

    Then in my file Test.fla spark, I have a small shape in a MovieClip called Spark.  In the properties of binding of spark, I chose to export for ActionScript and export in first frame.  The class is called Spark and the Base class is the particle.  For testing purposes, I dropped an instance on the stage and called spark.  Then in the layer actions in the first image (the timeline is just the spark layer and the layer actions, a long frame each with no "stop();" so it should run forever), I have included the following code:

    spark.xVelocity = 5;
    spark.yVelocity = - 1;

    function updateSpark(event:Event):void
    {
    Spark.Update ();
    }

    addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, updateSpark);

    Is what it seems that this should be on every Flash ENTER_FRAME should call updateSpark, which is a function that handles the event update() for the instance of the spark which is a movieclip instance that has an update event that moves x and y of the position of their relative velocity variables.  It seems simple enough to me, but when I ctrl-enter to test the movie, I get the following compiler 3 errors:

    Particle.As line 1: 5000: the class 'Particle' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' because it is linked to a symbol in the library of this type.

    Particle.As line 7:1071: syntax error: expected a keyword (for example function definition) after the public attribute, not xVelocity.

    Particle.As line 7:1084: Syntax error: expecting rightbrace before the semicolon.

    Since I imported flash.display. * and declares the class public particle so it extends MovieClip I have no idea why I get this error of 5000.  I see this issue come up a lot when searching Google and forums, but none of the resolutions that I could find have suggested an approach that applies to me or solve the problem.

    Any help to fix this would be appreciated.  I enclose a zip of the FLA a files as described above in case there is something in the settings of publication that I messed up inadvertently.  In addition, if you can get this to compile without error, then the problem may be due to my Flash CS3 Pro install which will result in the problem isn't with my code and start looking at me in a different direction.

    Thank you

    Scott

  • The VC 2008 linker error

    I've recently upgraded from Visual C++ 6.0 and Visual Studio 2008. I also upgraded to the most recent series of 488 libraries.

    My code includes the following header file: C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\Shared\ExternalCompilerSupport\C\include\ni4882.h

    And my request is linked with the next object file: C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\Shared\ExternalCompilerSupport\C\lib32\msvc\ni4882.obj

    When I compile, I get the following errors:

    Error LNK2019: external symbol unresolved __imp__rand referenced in function _LoadFunction@4 ni4882.obj ctlcom

    Error LNK2019: external symbol unresolved __imp__srand referenced in function _LoadFunction@4 ni4882.obj ctlcom

    Error LNK2019: external symbol unresolved __imp__time referenced in function _LoadFunction@4 ni4882.obj ctlcom

    Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

    Hello BobSpiral,

    I have the same problem. I use Visual C++ 2008 SP1 with NOR-488. 2 library version 2.7.3.

    Please check whether your program is compiled with "/MD"(or"/ MDd") the compiler option.

    I met error LNK2019 (unresolved external symbol) error when a program compiled with ' / MT "(or" / MTd ") compiler (using the static CRT library) option." "
    When the program was compiled with "/MD"(or"/ MDd") compiler option (using the CRT DLL library), the generation of the measures have been adopted without error. ""

    I presume that some DLL version CRT functions are called in the module "ni4882.obj.
    And what, seems to me, is the reason why the error LNK2019 occurs.

    If the program is compiled with "/MT [d]", the CRT DLL import library is not linked by the linker.
    If the linker cannot resolve the symbols of import functions (__imp__ *) of the CRT DLL in 'ni4882.obj", so the error LNK2019 error occurs.
    I'm just guessing.

    Excuse me for my bad English and writing.

    Thank you

    Noraneko
