  Notification options are only available for Windows Vista and higher. The Control of the Volume icon may appear from the Control Panel.

  You said that the Spokesman of AOL could have removed the Control of Volume, please make sure that the following files exist on your system to see if the Setting of the Volume has been either deleted or not

• I don't have the desktop, no start menu item icons and taskbar shows hourglass after you start. Can't do anything except in safe mode. Help!

  I have a dell Inspiron with windows xp. When I started the computer this morning, I pass the windows startup screen and then just get an empty office and no start menu icons. The taskbar are also disabled in me showing only an hourglass.

  I restarted the computer in safe mode and run malwarebytes which found 1 infected file which I deleted it. Unfortunately this has not solved the problem.
  For any help or suggestion would be welcome. I cannot function in atm safe mode but obviously limited in what I can do.

  Thank you for your reply Syed. Since I posted the request, I took my machine an outlet Center supported local PC and he was diagnosed with a faulty hard drive. So, I now have a new hard drive prescription (and a couple of days of work re - install everything to hope).

  I apologize if I chose the wrong forum for this.    HP Pavilion P6610f Windows 7 family Ed Office.  Internet Wi - Fi of 64-bit (Qwest DSL) middle of experience in technical (I think).  Windows Defender No Windows Live Security Essentials yet, (oops!)  When I signed out of AOL and returned to my desktop, the taskbar, start icon and menu start would not appear.  I tried CTRL + ALT DELETE, to try to find out if a program is interfering, (nothing was running) could not arrested except to do it manually, so I did and pressed conitnually f8 when starting upwards.  I tried 'last best configuration' (did not help) went to HP Support Assistant, ((Heureusement, la barre de HP advisor était en haut de mon écran de bureau) I tried all diagnostic & troubleshooting steps HP Support Assistant.) When I tried to go to Windows Explorer from there, or attempted to open the configuration of my system, he kept saying that the (HAPSLC) (or something close) leave work and he wanted to know why, but never did. I tried it 4 times.  I was hoping to reset back a few days but could not find a way to access this page. Scared to try something else. I did a factory reset on September 1, 2012. Have a record of system repair that was made in may 2012. I think that Windows was the installation of the updates at the time wherever I discovered that these things were not working.  You have any advice would be greatly appreciated.   Even after a restart, the start menu and task bar not come back?

  Try these steps and let me know the results

  1. launch the Ctrl + Shift + ESC Task Manager

  2. under find explorer.exe processes

  3 Select this option and complete the process

  4. then go to file, and select new task

  5. type Explorer.exe and press OK

  Observe the behavior and see if the task bar and menu start back

  Try to recreate the icon cache and restarting didn't work.

  The Microsoft fix - it rearranged only the icons without restoring the good.

  Attempt to right click and reset the program that should open with the files does not change the icons back to normal

  Can someone tell me please:

  (1) how do I create/get a new set of icons

  (2) where should I copy this set of icons to

  (3) how to ensure that Windows 7 is directed to the exact location of these icons AND use them

  I'm ok with changes to the registry, if I have to.

I did this and was very impressed with the new format of the home page with a single button for the menu bar address, etc. of bookmark. I decided to update my desktop computer the same version by downloading the last update, but when it was installed, the format of the home page was not the change to the new format. I decided to use the same installation file I had used on the laptop, but the format has not changed. Download and install as you did on the first computer, sign in to your Adobe account on the Adobe using your Adobe ID website, download the desktop app from clouds, then download the software. Sign on a computer that should not be used: log in and log out of the desktop Adobe Creative Cloud application

  I have Vista Ultimate retail installed on my laptop and it came with disks of 32 and 64-bit. The Office has been an ultimate upgrade of a House of high range retail and only had the 32-bit disk.  Now that I've upgraded the office, it will easily run 64 bit. The laptop could never be upgraded enough to use 64-bit. Is it possible to change so that I could run the 64-bit on the desktop? Thank you.

  You cannot use both at the same time.

  Read this:

  If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

  The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
  You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

  If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
  But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

  A single license is a single Installation.

  In the past, I was able to use a license for a Suite of bead CS on two computers (a laptop and a desktop computer) I have and that I use for my business. I'm not sure that this is possible with the introduction of the creative cloud more and can't seem to find the answer to this question. Anyone know?

  I have windows xp sp3.  I had an intrusion that blocked AVG and it has been put in quarantine.  Later, I noticed that I had lost my Start menu and some of my desktop icons.  How can I solve this problem and get back them?

  Sometimes your anti-virus program interfere with a restoration of the system successfully.  Try to start your computer in Mode safe (repeatedly tap F8 key as long as your system starts up and select Safe Mode).  Then try to run the system restore.

  I managed to solve the problem after having to deal with all the images in the directory/forms/java, I stopped all processes and even restart the server.

  Fortunately, it worked perfectly.

• Driver Ethernet and network controller missing after the Installation of 7 costs Windown

  I have Sony Vaio VPCEG25EN E series laptop with Win 7 64 bit pre installed.

  I had installed Win 8 intended to test and when it is again installed win 7, I'm missing my network and Ethernet controller drivers. I don't see any network except for Bluetooth network card adapters.

  Tried to install the drivers from the SONY site but in error.

  Apart from these 2 drivers

  PCI device
  Simple PCI controller communications

  SM Bus controller

  are also missing.

  Please let me know the solution how to install the drivers and where to look for it.

  IMP Note: if I install the trial win 8 again, I'll have all my drivers after installation, but during the installation of Win 7, they disappear.

  What error do you get when you try to install the drivers of sony?  Windows generic drivers should work...  In Device Manager, do you have a selected and right click 'check for changes on the hardware?

• Desktop icons and desktop do not work. (Nothing happens when right clicking Google desktop for office properties, or by clicking on an icon on the desktop).

  My office does not work.  When I right click on the desktop to launch desktop properties, nothing happens.  In addition, trash and my other desktop files are also unresponsive.  However, I see the desktop correctly.

  I did a virus/malware scan using Norton Security Suite and Malwarebytes, and no viruses/malware were found.  I also have several reboots, run the check disk and deleted the cookies/cache.  How can I solve this?

  Before being able to solve problems, I ended up receiving an error message from Windows Explorer.  I checked the possibility of a solution and restart the Explorer.  Fortunately, this seemed to solve the problem.  I'll wait to see if this is a permanent or temporary solution.  Either by the way, thank you very much for your help!
