  • WinDefend file startup file that signals to the mpsvc.dll file?

Guys, I was going through the list startup files in Autoruns, and I found a strange file that I've not seen before.

Its a WinDefend file that highlights to the mpsvc.dll file in files/windows defender program and by the looks of it is a file that is used by Microsoft Windows Defender. I have Norton Antivirus installed, but who has not been able to detect it as a malware. This malware or is there a file without danger?

I noticed that the internet on my computer speed has become considerably really slow but when I check Speedtest.NET, I get the speed I'm supposed to for my ISP. Any type of malware is responsible for this?

    Hi Sheikh Omar

The file that you are talking about is not a malware. It's a Windows defender file present on the computer. You can check the link for more information about Windows defender - below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-Windows-Defender

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

If you are unsure of the malware on the computer, then you can perform a security analysis and verification. See the link below to make the scan-

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 d3dx10_.dll file is missing

Original title: WINDOWS 7. DLL FILE MISSING

I have a problem when I run this game that an error pops up saying that my d3dx10_.dll file is missing what to do

    can any body help me

    Hey Kevindran,

What game are you talking about?

D3dx10.dll problems result in one way or another by a problem with Microsoft DirectX. The file d3dx10.dll is one of many files in the DirectX software collection. Because DirectX is used by most Windows-based games and graphics programs advancements, d3dx10.dll errors usually only appear when you use these programs.

Here's what you can do to fix the error.

    1. find a DirectX installer on your game folder or installation CD or DVD. Usually, if a game uses DirectX, software developers includes a copy of DirectX on the installation disc.

    2. Uninstall the game and then reinstall it again. Something could have happened to the files in the program work with d3dx10.dll and a reinstall might do the trick.

  • error message saying a .dll file is missing when I try to acess Mngr.vdmdbg task not found.

I have uninstalled or deleted my Windows XP Pro VDMDBG.dll because I received error messages after

I am now using the same IDE on this DIY PC like what I used to have XP Pro running. I ran an upgrade or r disc install to resign the drivers and at the same time you run some programs to uninstall some of the OLD drivers of the motherboard and temporary files, but I must have too deep because now, I have only this error message telling me that a .dll file is missing when I try to acess Mngr.vdmdbg task was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Where can I go to download or difficulty this annoyance file or program? Thankx again! -Al

    Sounds messy.

If you see a message like this:

Taskmgr.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because VDMDBG.dll is not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:
    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called vdmdbg when the name of the file should really be called vdmdbg.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

PS Microsoft support engineers - "try running sfc/scannow and check if it helps" will not replace the missing vdmdbg.dll file because it is not what sfc/scannow does.  If you want to see an experiment to prove that, let me know because I have a ready-made.

  • Lsass.exe - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because the oleaut32.dll file not found

    Original title: oleaut32.dll xp

My system XP pro/sp3 does not start normally, without danger or with the original sys disk. I get a message
Isass.exe - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because the oleaut32.dll file not found. reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
However, I can't in the operating system to do a re-install.
    Any suggestions?

If c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll is missing, you will see messages like this:

Lsass.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because the OLEAUT32.dll file not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

If the missing file is the only problem, you might have to do a reinstall to fix.

There should be a copy of Oleaut32.dll in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache folder, so if you can get in the XP Recovery Console, you can just replace it - then you are going to have to start on something to do.

Once started in the XP Recovery Console, you must enter this command at the prompt:

    Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\oleaut32.dll c:\windows\system32

If the file is not in the dllcache folder (it should really be), depending on your installation, this command can work:

    Copy c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\oleaut32.dll c:\windows\system32

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace any existing file.

I don't know what the Microsoft Support Engineer think that KB307545 or KB922371 will help you.  I think that the MSE is just throw a few things to try and some links.  You don't describe symptoms consistent with the need to use one of these methods.   I would say the MSE has never seen this problem before, made no attempt to reproduce the problem, and has no idea how to fix this.

If your CD does not start in the Recovery Console, or if you don't know what kind of CD do you have to do a CD of XP Recovery Console and boot on it (no media XP required).

    Here's how:

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

After replacing the file, remove the CD and type 'exit' to leave the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
