  I have Airport Extreme 6 Gen and a few months back from a 'new' Arris CM820 Time Warner Cable modem. Since then, I did have slowly and dropped connection problems a day - mostly in the evening so that streaming on Apple TV and Roku, and navigation devices on the MacBook Air and iPads at the same time.   If you have already tested the modem, try to choose a time when you can turn off the AirPort router and connect your Mac directly to the modem for a day or two to try things like that.

  Alternatively, you can of course call TWC support and have them check the line and the modem, but you already know that they will say that "things seem good to here" and that "the problem must be another device, like your router. .. even though things worked very well before receiving the 'new' modem.

  If connection problems continue when you have the Mac connected directly to the modem, the modem would then become a strong suspect.  This is possible.  But, it is also possible that the connection remains stable throughout your test... and if it's the result, TWC has strong arguments to say that their service and the modem are working well.

  Until then, you really don't know if you have a modem problem, a problem of the airport, or as can sometimes be the case... a modem - router compatibility issue. In such cases, the modem out OK and airport does as well, and each manufacturer blames the other for the problem.

  I have an airport extreme with the version of firmware 7.7.7 (later at the time of this announcement). My modem ISP settings are blocked and it is already fixed to make routing/DHCP/Nat, so I use my airport extreme in Bridge mode to avoid the double NAT (it connects connects to the ISP with DHCP router).

  Both the ISP modem/router and Airport extreme are creating two different 'wifi networks", which belong to the same network (192.168.0.0).

  I can enter each of this Wifi network, obtain an IP address in both cases and start using the internet.

  However, when I use it on my ISP router, everything works perfectly, however, when I use it on the airport network, it fails from time to time.

  If I start ping an external IP address (e.g.: 8.8.8.8), I've never lost a packet on the network of the ISP router, but I lose packets often on the airport extreme network.

  Also, if I ping the ISP of the airport extreme network router I lose packets from time to time. Sometimes also vice versa. I never lose packets when ping the router whose network providing I'm connected to.

  All the settings on the airport extreme values by default (except that I created an additional network of 5 GHz).

  Can you give us some advice as how to solve the problem? I read somewhere that disable ipv6 connection sharing could solve the problem, but it didn't. Thanks in advance

  If you have the Ethernet cable from your ISP router that is connected to the "O" on the AirPort Extreme WAN port, unplug the cable and plug it into one of the three ports LAN <>- on the airport to see if this will help with the issue.

  However, if you have the Ethernet cable from the ISP router already connected to one of the LAN <>- port on the AirPort Extreme, then you'll need to reset the AirPort Extreme back to default settings and then set up again.

  If you have any further questions, the Airport extreme is defective and must be replaced.

• Can not change the configuration extreme airport

  Hello everyone, the community can maybe help me.

  I am a long-time Apple guy and can usually solve my own problems, but this one left me speechless. I have an Airport Extreme ages of less than 1 year. I set up OK and used for the last year. Now, I want to change the configuration. Specifically I add a port to the front, but I also had this problem, try to change the MAC address access lists, changing the wireless channel, allowing access as a guest, and probably any other change in config I try.

  Anyway, once I made the change, not restarting airport but then it fails to return to the top. The yellow light comes on and sometimes the utility Airport told me that he was unable to update the config. In this State I have to pull the plug to restart and once I did, the airport is back re-run without the changes I had made.

  It doesn't matter if I use the Airport 6.3.6 on El Capitan utility or Airport utility on iOS 9.2. The result is always the same. No change, fails to return to the top.

  I did a soft reset a hard reset and a factory reset. I've reconfigured from scratch (several times) and still can't seem to take a successful configuration change. I'm at the end of the ideas. I plan to return it because it's the year is February 2, but I don't want to go through the hassle if I can fix it myself or if it is a known problem that will not change with a change of equipment.

  I think that there is a virus or some kind of my network home preventing me from Google search.  It seems to work without a problem when I use use Wifi Hotspot through Verizon LTE, but through comcast cable, it does not load.  I had Comcast service person come and check the signal and until the TimeCapsule is loading and fine.  When it reset the modem and the TimeCapsule it worked for a minute or two, but then the problem comes back.  It has been almost a week to have this problem.

  -Does anyone know how to fix this?

  Last Comcast guy says to TimeCapsule is nine years old.  and the problem from there.

  What version of firmware is installed in your Time Capsule? For information, launch the AirPort Utility (it's in your Mac utilities folder) and select (click on) the time Capsule. His version of firmware is adjacent to the versionof word.

  Yes, if the hotspot provides an Ethernet port for a wired connection... Since the Capsule must be connected to another router or a modem with a connection permanent Ethernet cable, fixed.

  If the hotspot does not offer an Ethernet cable... it would be awkward, but it would probably work. Add an AirPort Express to 'join' the wireless hotspot, then connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port LAN Express on the WAN on the Time Capsule port and set up time Capsule to create a wireless network.

• AirPort Extreme AirPort Extreme extension causes a loss of the internet

  I extend an existing AirPort Extreme of 5th generation (a year or so old) with a new one. When I connect a new one for the network and power, airport utility sees the two airports and asks me if I want to extend the existing one. I clicked on extend and every thing seems to be well - within the parameters, he said that the new airport will extend the existing wireless network. Unfortunately this seemed to cause my modem to lose its connection to the Internet. I have reset the modem a few times, but it wasn't until I disconnected and "forgot" to the new base station that I was able to retrieve internet.   If you spread by wireless, you can't have the extreme new plugged in by ethernet.

  If you do not want to extend wired you don't use wireless extension... you use create a wireless network with the same SSID (name Apple Wireless speaks) and the same password.

  Just to be clear is the New Extreme a nine Gen6... or you want to say you have an another Gen5. The Gen6 is now more than 3 years on the market... No gen5 were therefore sold for 3 years.

  I plugged my HP Laserjet 1200 on my Dell XPS 8100 runnig Win 7. All right.

  I then connect my LaserJet to my Apple Airport Extreme, but Bonjur or it will not find the printer. I did turn my Extream airport on an XP system without problem. Now, nothing using Win 7.

• Time capsule and extreme; Cannot create the roaming network

  Problem: when you try to create a network roaming with time capsule and extreme, the wifi hangs and the network is up and down. Here are my deets:

  TC and extreme as well have the latest firmware of the 7.7.7 are the latest generation of products, purchased in the last 12 months

  TC is connected to Arris SB6183

  ISP is Cox North san diego County

  TC is then connected to the netgear GS105. (upstairs)

  NETGEAR GS105 then connects to GS108 (down in the patch panel in the closet of the master bedroom)

  1 x GS108 port connects to extreme

  I can get the stable network and works correctly as long as I don't have connected and extreme.

  I followed the instructions provided by apple in their "how to set up a roaming network.

  I have hard reset the devices apple repeatedly in my attempt to get things to work

  I started a Wan shortly ago at the connected WiFi and that was stable and work for not more than 30 minutes and then it went offline.

  So here I am now. Unable to get back online and stable with two apple devices connected network.

  System was stable and working well before the upgrade to 7.7.7. I had a wifi connected network not a roaming network at the time.

  Any suggestion would be great and really appreciated.

  I suspect that you simply have something set wrong...

  Main error is to use extend wireless when it is connected by ethernet... This will create a loop and bring down the network.

  The two units must be defined to create a wireless network... both must use the same name (SSID) and the same password, but must be set to different channels.

  It is almost impossible in this case crashing the network since the two are completely independent Wireless Access Points... (WAP).

  The TC must be in router mode... EI must be in the bridge (bridge mode off on the network tab.)

  Hello, this is my second post on the forum.  I have a roaming network 3 AirPort Extreme ACs.  (1) in the basement in the medium floor and a first floor on.

  Now middle and basement floor gives off a strong wireless signal and the home is wired with cat 5e if I have devices plugged into the extremes of import and everything works great.  However the AirPort Extreme is only releasing one, 9 Mbps wireless speed when other airports are clearing of 50-150 MB/s.

  I read on these forums that maybe my channels is getting mixed, but all adverse events are set to automatic for the channels so should I change that?

  Also when my new MacBook Pro connects to what is also a device to AC it still hangs to 9 mob/s.  Now it was getting a few days before when I had my time capsule base station wireless (n) with speed of 50-60, I know this isn't my Ethernet cable in the wall. all the recommendations I would appreciate your

  From your description of the problem, it seems that AirPort Extreme in question, is either misconfigured or is defective.

  I suggest that you first try a 'default' reset on this base station and then use AirPort Utility to set up your mobile network. If this fails to solve the problem, it may be defective and you need to replace.
