  As far as I know that these drives support not all CD or DVD and it s nothing unusual that one or the other DVD may not be recognized correctly.

I agree that the error message returned by the driver is very unclear and fails to a user of the API provide enough information to determine the cause of the error in the code.   To clarify the error, it seems that 'peripheral' in ' specified operation cannot be performed when no device in the task "is in fact reference to the channels configured in the task. At this point, I'm not sure what "device" can be applied to other entities in the DAQmx driver software, but I'll post at the time where I have an error message created by the development team working on it.
