The problem of file sharing on my network.
I share & transfer my pictures on my network from one computer to another and never had a problem. For some reason now I can still copy from computer 1 to computer 2 but can not copy 2 computer to computer 1. I get an error message. "Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. I made sure that in the screen sharing for reading attributes box has not been checked.
Any help would be appreciated!
Hello
I hope you have checked availability th too.
Otherwise, go on leave.
Problems of permission and security with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.
All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account on all computers that they are allowed to connect to.
Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users.
Using the functionality of all saved the need to configure authorization for each of theestablished users, it does mean not all those who feel that they would like to connect.
Users who do not have an account on the computer are not part of the Everyone group.
If the LAN security is useless and users are not established, then move on the guest account provides the semi-open configuration.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-the-guest-account-on-or-off
---------------------
Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.
In the properties
Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.
This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.
The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.
When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).
* Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

On windows XP, I need to connect to two different networks. Free wifi for the internet and the other for file sharing.
Different gateways, different static address, same subnet mask. But there is problem when operating simultaneously and must
a network must be disabled. Is it possible to run simultaneously?
original title: served various networks simultaneously on windows xp
Go to where you have configured the static IP addresses for your network adapters. Leave the "default gateway" blank for your local file sharing adapter and insert a valid default gateway for your wifi Internet adapter. Of course, this will limit your adapter in a single subnet - which should be OK for use at home or small office to share local files.
This should work as long as the two physical subnets have two different subnet numbers. In general, this means that the first three digits of the IP address of the adapter can not be the same on both adapters - if they are, then you need to make one of the subnets. (i.e. one is 192.168.1.xxx and the other would be 192.168.2.xxx). This is usually accomplished in the router configuration page.

How to password protect my files shared on my network?
I am trying to share a folder on the network and the have password protected. I use Windows XP Service Pack 3 Professional. I have disabled in simple file sharing files Options. All my computers are in the same workgroup. For the record I would like to share, I have the following settings:
On the sharing tab, I 'Share this folder', filled in the maximum limit and the share user name. The "Permissions" button, I deleted "Everyone" and put in a username I've created specifically for the sharing folder connection and he gave total control. Everything is left to him by default.
For the Security tab, I just like default except added the user account, I created and that you have authorized for total control.
When I look at from any computer on the network, I can see the computer and shared folders in the working group. There is a default folder "SharedDocs" I open it. But if I try to enter the folder that I created, I get the following error:
"You are not allowed to access \\MYCOMP\SharedFolder. Contact your network administrator to request access.
If I do all what I said above, but instead of adding the user account, I put "Guest" or "everyone, then the file can be found on my other computers without the error but no password is invited. What should I do so that when I try to enter the folder, it ask for a login and a password.
As a side note, my other computers do not have this problem with their shared folders. When I click on the computer under 'View workgroup computers '. Rather than open a list of shared folders, it opens a prompt for a login and a password, and if they are correct, it will show that all shared folders and files shared to that user. If the password of the specific folders is not possible, should what settings I change so that it works like this instead?
My apologies if this should have been in the files, records and research topic.
When you connect to a network share, authentication proceeds roughly in this order:
- If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name that exists on the machine sharing the passwords match, while the user is authenticated as himself without another guest.
- If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name that exists on the machine of sharing and the passwords do not match, then this as seen user denied access to the computer sharing without prompting.
- If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name does not exist on the machine of sharing, an attempt is made to authenticate the user "guest". If successful, that the user connection looks like it is 'guest' on the machine of sharing user.
- If the remote user is unable to authenticate as a 'guest' on the sharing machine, then a name of user and password screen appears to provide authentication.
It seems to me to make it work as you want, you want to make sure that step 3 above does not occur. This can be accomplished by disabling the "Guest" on the machine sharing account. (This forces everyone to authenticate on the machine) Two ways to do as an administrator on the machine of sharing:
(A) bring up a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
NET user guest / active: No.
(B) right click on 'My Computer'-> manage-> system tools-> local users and groups-> users
Double-click "Invited" in the right window-> Put a check in the box "account is disabled". "OK" your way out.HTH,

I put the file and printer for Microsoft Networks share on IT in my LAN adapter properties. When I reboot it has itself turned off.
My PC running Windows 7 64 bit.
With leader & Printer Sharing, I am able to access the files on another PC 32 bit Windows 7 and the PC can access mine. After a reboot of my PC is possible - file & print sharing has set itself off the power in the properties of the adapter on my PC (the other PC is still OK).In Control Panel / advanced sharing settings I also file and the specified printer sharing option - and which remains lit on a restart. But it seems that it is not enough to allow these two PC to see each other.
When I turn on sharing in the properties of the adapter to the printer & file, the two computers can then see each other (restart is not required).
On the other PC, file & printer sharing survives through a reboot without reinitialization.
I removed the two PCs of our homegroup yesterday evening to try to identify where the rub.
My PC is to use the standard Windows Firewall current t.It is an aspect of various strange problems, I was 'enjoying' with Windows 7. Following suggestions of the other forums, I turned off of packages jiumbo and created a connectionid identical on both systems. The Intel web site confirms that I have the Intel network adapter driver.
It's very strange. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
I think that I found the cause of the problem.
It is a Lenovo Thinkpad and it comes with 'Logins', software to help manage network connections.
Buried deep in the settings is a security option disable file and printer sharing. I disabled that and will test by restarting later. -
File sharing issues Vista network home
I have 3 machines (and a sense of distress in my stomach)
machine: dell desktop
- wired connection to the router
- 32 bit Vista Home premium
- in network and sharing Center:
- file sharing enabled
- sharing public files on
- password protection disabled
- Norton Internet Security - suite
- Of disk C with conntrol full sharing for everyone
Computer desk b: lenovo
- wireless connection
- Vista edition Windows Home premium 64-bit
- Norton Antivirus
- in network and sharing Center the same settings as above
- sharing of disk C with read permissions
machine C: HP laptop
- wireless connection
- Vista edition Windows Home premium 64-bit
- Norton internet security
- in network and sharing Center the same settings as above
- C disk share with full control permissions
When I go to the network an A I can't see B or C. B and C, I can see but not the other. But wait there's more. When I click on the remote computer that I can see (A) it says "check the spelling of the name...". "When I hit diagnose it says"Windows has sent the request to the DNS server and the server responded that the name was unknown. Huh? Why DNS server?
My router is a Trendnet TEW-635BRM if that helps. In the past, I tried to open some ports in norton antivirus, tried to create an account called on A - things I've read on other forums, but without success. Politenes prevents my to say @#!. "% you Microsoft.
Hi Malharsire and thanks for posting!
First of all you can try disabling IPv6 on your PC.
To do this:
- Start > Control Panel > view network status and tasks (under network and Internet)
- Has chosen to manage network connections in the left menu
- Right-click on Local area connection and select Properties
- In the pop up box, uncheck the following:
- Internt Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
- Click OK, and then RESTART your computer
I hope this helps!

problem in the situation in the field of file sharing (rather bad :()
I have a domain and a domain controller (name server:, ip:192.168.3.33)
There is a shared folder (common name: ts$) on the server
I connect to another computer (he joined the domain, the operating system: windows 7 Professional, ip:192.168.3.112) using the user to a domain account, then press "windows key" keyboard + 'R '.
put in: "\\192.168.3.33", and then press ENTER, I see the default shared folders whose names are all lowercase, as "sysvol" & "netlogon", click on these files, access is denied, he says that I have no right. or sometimes it says that windows cannot find the network name: \\192.168.3.33\sysvol.
then I put: '\\server', and then press ENTER, I see the default folders shared, whose names are all uppercase, as "SYSVOL" & "NETLOGON", I can double click and access these folders.
I also put: '\\server\ts$' and press ENTER, I can access this shared folder.
but when put in "\\192.168.3.33\ts$" and press on enter, he says: windows cannot find the network name:\\192.168.3.33\ts$, please check your spelling, so I support on diagnose button to run the network automatically, check sometimes he says: the cheque can be found without problem, but still cannot access shared folder, sometimes he says '\\192.168.3.33 was found. , but ' ts$ ' wasn't still cannot access.
'\\server' always seems to work, "\\192.168.3.33" more time does not work
Connect, severl minute wait, I can access by name times ip & computer.
Can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you much in advance.

Problem of file sharing between Windows 7 and Vista using a working group
I use a working group and have a shared folder on a computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm trying to access the file from a computer on the same workgroup that is running Vista Business. It requires a username and password that I turn off password protected sharing on both computers and tried all combinations of accounts and passwords on both computers, but can not get access to the file. I'm sure I'm missing something and you would appreciate the help.
Hello TamiRigby,
Take a look at this thread for instructions with reset the permissions file and folder to a specific folder in Windows Vista:I suggest you try this with the file you are having problems sharing. -

Can someone help me with the problem of Vista Home Wireless (unidentified network)
I recently replaced my wireless router and now I get "Unidentified network - Local access" when you try to connect to my network.
This problem occurs only with this computer Vista Home. (All other wireless devices have any problems (Win7 netbook, iPad, PS3, etc).)ipconfig/all shows me a valid ip address, subnet mask and gateway also seems to have a Mac address of zero.Norton Internet Security was installed, but I have removed and still have the same problem.Hello
Position of your router would be suspicious here. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
obstacles in the path?Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.
Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htmHow to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.htmlDownload - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.
You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.
After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
updated drivers.I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed. How to disable automatic driver Installation in Windows Vista - drivers

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.
You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.
Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.-----------------------------------------------------

Hi all
Our production database is 10.2.0.3 with 2 RAC nodes in the window MS 2003 servers. I wonder what kind of information that Oracle captures in the trace of the shared server file (file name looks like instance_s001_3333.trc). When I open some of these files I still see a single query always there along with messages like:
WAITING #8: nam = 'gc cr block 2 ways' ela = 1222 p1 = p2 65 = 49677 p3 = 1 obj #= tim 69689 = 4137263779
WAITING #8: nam = 'gc cr block 2 ways' ela = 593 p1 = p2 65 = 50863 p3 = 1 obj #= tim 69689 = 4137265531
WAITING #8: nam = 'gc cr block 2 ways' ela = 592 65 p1 = p2 = 50879 p3 = 1 obj #= tim 69689 = 4137266700
If we need to grant this request to make it disappear in the shared server trace files? What are the conditions to trigger Oracle put this request in the trace file?
Thank you very much in advance for your support!
ShirleyI did a quick test with 10.2.0.1 EE on Linux with default shared server configuration. I have run your trace statements, and I see:
-1 small file trace with the identifier of the EMT in USER_DUMP_DEST
-1 large track.trc file s000 in BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST. And it looks like the outcome according to trcsess doc. http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/SQLTrace.htm#PFGRF01050
>
However, in a shared server configuration a user session is served by different processes from time to time. The trace on the user session is dispersed across the different stack belonging to different processes.
>Most traced statements are in the trace file to the shared server because it's the shared server that runs most of the SQL statements.
