  Your sent items folder is corrupted.  Move or copy messages from the folder that you want to keep.  Then close OE and delete the file sent items.dbx and outbox.dbx (hidden).  OE will then create new ones, and that should solve the problem.

  Because your files has been corrupted, you might consider backup before they get completely corrupt and in addition, you could go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  This will give you a base of new messages, not corrupted, and you then go to file | Import | Messages and import them from the old identity.

  Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. Before you start the troubleshooting steps, I need the required information:

  ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

  ·         What is the brand and model of the printer?

  ·         The question is limited to this application?

  Follow these methods.

  Method 1: Perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state from the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

  (a) click Start, run.

  (b) type msconfigand click OK.

  (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

  (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

  (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

• I am getting error 0x800CCC90 answer ERR idle time-out. I get multiple copies of emails in my Inbox, and when deleting, they reappear when I connect then.

  Whenever I connect to receive e-mails my Inbox receives multiple copies of my new posts and also emails as soon as I read and often deleted.

  If you use Windows Mail in Vista, then try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and also be aware of the risk of interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  If this does not help, see if you can login via webmail and see if you have the same problems here.  It could be that there is a message that hangs the server and you can delete this message to get rid of it via webmail.  You can also contact btinternet.

  If you do not use Windows Mail in Vista, then you must specify what software you use to access your e-mail.

  You will need to go to your email account settings and enter a password for your outgoing mail server, same password entering your mail server.

  I guess that your account is Outlook.com or Gmail. These two put mail in your Outbox and Thunderbird does.

  If it's an of these, go to menu (alt + T) tools > account settings > copies and folders and change your sent does not save a copy in.

  Currently, it is not possible to detect if the cells turns off the screen. Even if you join LayoutUpdateHandler them they will just stop send updates when you go off the screen. I managed to hack a solution using a timer, but I guess that a cleaner approach would more use a ScrollView with CustomControls instead:

  1. get the dimensions of the ScrollView joining ScrollView LayoutUpdateHandler.

  2. attach the LayoutUpdateHandlers to the CustomControls.

  UPD: It is also viewableArea & viewableAreaChanged event scrollView property.

  3. If the controls that were inside the visible area of the ScrollView went outside, raises the event.

  I use the default mail on my surface app to check my mails sky.com.  While I look to send and receive messages fine, when I click on an email in my Inbox, it shows me several copies of the same message, but in different folders such as Inbox, sent, Outbox etc.  This means that I have 999 + mails in my Inbox when I know that I do not have this number.  It makes it very confusing to keep track of my mails and I use to connect my laptop and using outlook.

  The important thing is that it is not generate all these messages now, I'm happy that has been resolved. To answer your questions:

  1. it looks like someone tried to put your email to sky in a sense, when it does not work they tried in a different way.

  2. If you want to see what the sky account has been set up as, in the sweep of Mail app in a bit of hand right edge of the screen to bring up the charms. Select settings, then accounts. This will show that you send accounts configured in Mail and Mail think they (Hotmail, Outlook, Gmail, other, etc.).

• Thunderbird will download multiple copies of email with large attachments; about half a Meg or more.

  Have uninstalled and re installed TB; still had the problem so deleted files popstate.dat; three old and I guess that the other two were for both accounts I have. Sometimes I go to the server/webmail and delete the large email to stop repeated downloads.

  I tried a different e-mail program, and it did not download multiple copies. Tried to uninstall TB new and removed the front profile of re install and still had the same problem. One of the large files sent to my friend that I had installed TB on his computer for him and he doesn't have the problem. So I changed my email from POP3 to IMAP and now it seems that the multiple download problem disappeared. I would like to know well why I had a problem and my friend (and others) do not have.

  It is not your problem. Problem is on the end of the SENDER.
  Say that you can not open attachments to this sender.
  This sender is probably using Outlook and sending attachments in winmail.dat format (just speculation on my part).

  For the last 3 days I have not received e-mails in Windows Mail but you can send. I get them in Yahoo without any problem and could send in Yahoo yesterday, but today it is hit and Miss... I tried to send test e-mails to myself at once and to the e-mail address of my husband which I can access. He received some emails from Yahoo but not all and seems to have received all e-mails from Windows Mail.  I have followed all the advice on the forums, checked the settings, c.t., removed my anti-virus etc. but nothing worked. I also tried restoring the system until the problem has started again to. It happened all of a sudden and I had not changed anything on my computer to cause this.   Windows Live Mail does not have a password for himself.  Yes, he is the one making the request, but it is requested in the name of the mail server.  It works like this:

  1. WLM asks the server to email "Can I have some email?
  2. Mail server (Yahoo) asks "what's the password?"
  3. WLM asks the user (you) for the password
  4. WLM sends the password you gave to the server (Yahoo)
  5. Yahoo sends emails

  Something between steps 3 and 5 have a problem.  Possible causes:

  • Your Yahoo! More premium email service has expired and you need to pay/renew your subscription to Yahoo
  • Your password has been changed without your knowledge
  • You type the wrong password (maybe by mistake because of shift CapsLock or NumLock)
  • Yahoo changed the setting on the server and you need to update your account settings in the WLM options.

  The problem is that the server that hosted email no longer exists, so I can't add it back again. Is it possible to import in Thunderbird yet, so I can always analyze them?   In general, in IMAP, all your messages are stored on the server and Thunderbird downloads the temporary copies in order to accelerate the search and navigation. Since there are parameters for the amount of content in the message to download, or only the headers, there is no guarantee that you will have messages in their entirety.

  For future use, if you have an IMAP account that is connected and the desire to preserve the independent messages from the server, you must copy them to a place outside of the IMAP account folders connected, such as local folders.

• Wishing only to download "new emails" from talktalk webmail to Microsoft Window Mail

  I naoual had a week of no e-mail, eventually after many talktalk hair-pulling set their server's fault. I now send again. But at the opening of Windows Mail on your laptop and to "receive email" it goes to download all emails from talktalk (32 000), not only new emails (400) that I have not received due to the fault of talktalk.   Sort the problem myself in the end in what I feel is a more mechanical means. There seems to be no way to label all the previous (pre talktalk * up) emails on my webmail as having already been received to my laptop. So I suspended all my message Inbox rules. Created the new folder in the Inbox. Download all messages on the Web mailbox in this folder from one day to the next. Delete all emails that uploaded that were sent front of talktalk * up, IE all duplicates. Then I reactivated my message rules to sort messages missed in their different folders. This entire talktalk email problem has been a bit stressful to say the least. What with an online community Needless to talktalk, followed by inaction of talktalk up to 4 days in default of statement every day and then only when I insisted on dealing only managers. Finally available the Friday emails (only 6 days after the crash), but then the problem of not being able to download only new messages. So, I was hoping that it would be a simple way to download only those who arrived after a certain date (the date of failure), and someone here would be able to point me in the right direction, but this seems not to be possible without deleting everything. I am now 11 days later, feeling very disappointed with all the contacts (except a talktalk Manager - Erica - who got the ball after 6 days) with regard to this entire episode. The laptop almost learned to fly a couple of times, but fortunately the clearance for take-off was refused.
