  • Acer recovery disks do not install Windows 7 on a new hard drive SSD

    Hi all!

I have Ace Aspire 5742 G laptop and I have problems to install the Windows 7 operating system on my new hard drive SSD (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is defect and do all the time... blue screens)

For the factory restore, I use the restore disks. I burned the discs a few years back when the laptop has insisted me to do (using eRecovery or something, in total 3 dvds).

Testing of computer to install the operating system with the DVD (asked to insert a dvd and then press a key). The real problem is that the installer will just in loops, restart and eventuallyfreezing in the end...

    Restart--> Acer--> Windows logo takes over... files-> from windows-> reboot-> etc.

Which continued for more than an hour (on the first dvd!) and all of a sudden that it froze right on screen "starting windows..." I had to restart and stars on again once.

I can still use my old formatted HARD drive, should I do the new set of recovery disks or use a USB?

Thanks for the answers in advance!

    Hello

Did you back up your data?

The best scenario is to use the official media of external recovery HP and bring your PC to a first day factory condition. Remove the default HD and plug the new HD on this port. Now boot to the top of the HP recovery media and following the instructions on the screen.

  • Errors in the world when you try to reinstall Windows XP on a new hard drive.

    Original title: errors everywhere!

    Hi all:

I recently bought a new hard drive (seagate momentus xt) for my older PC toshiba M70 laptop. I tried to re - install Win XP on the recovery disk (which came with the laptop) but I got a black screen with cursor. I repeated the collection, same thing. To check that all was well with the disc, I scanned and then installed ubuntu 9.04 it work perfect! What is interesting is that in the prior installation, he showed that win xp has been installed on the disk. Then I tried to re - install win xp - then I got this error Grub 17... I went back with the facilities and now I'm at a point where I get a message "error: unknown filesystem grub rescue >" (after the installation of ubuntu 11.04, then windows again). I don't know what to do. What I want is my xp back, I can't get ubuntu. Help, please.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ARolle,

    ·         It is reinstall drive?

Method 1: Load default BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) settings, and then restart the computer. Make sure that you have the CD drive set as first boot device. Check the settings by consulting the manual or call the manufacturer to do so.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Method 2: Try to boot from the CD and see if you can start the installation.

Contact Toshiba to get more information on the type of disc you use to reinstall Windows.

  • I can install Windows 7 on a new hard drive for HP Envy m6 1205dx

My HP Envy m6-1205dx son is a notebook of 2013. The screen was broken and I replaced one. Now he says that there is not a BONE, I tried to install a full version of Windows 7 Professional, and he said that he there was not a boot device. I've reconfigured the BIOS to boot with the CD/DVD ROM and it started installing. When he arrives at the point of asking where to put the installation there is no option. I checked the connection to the hard drive and it is not a problem here. I think to buy a new hard drive to install the Windows 7 operating system, I am afraid that it will not work or he will say that I need to install the drivers. This laptop originally supplied with Windows 8. Can I install this version of Windows on this laptop? If I need to install the drivers how can I get them? It cannot be a website to download the drivers on your computer. I can't do without the computer having an operating system. I downloaded some drivers from a link, I saw on You Tube and put it on a flash drive, but none was consistent, one of them did read on a different/more older computer I tried to install this OS on and it says that the driver was out of date. It seems to me that a (FULL VERSION) drivers and everything else you might need. I'm not computer savvy, so I do not know! I'm just trying to save my investment of $600 on this computer without spending $300. I can get a new hard drive for $80 and it was on that I would go; However, I will buy a new Windows 8 operating system if it is the only option.

There is no device driver Windows 7 for your model, only Windows 8:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=5359748&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en

If there is no driver, your PC may not work correctly (No. LAN or WiFi, Audio, USB, etc.) after the installation of Windows 7.

Check your hard drive, if the laptop has been abandoned the drive may be defective and must be replaced.

You can order a support of HP recovery:

    Hello

Download and create the bootable CD as described at the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-80183-1&cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en

When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

My HP Pavilion a6400f had problems years ago I installed Ubuntu Linux. Now, getting fed up with linux, I want Windows Vista back. I still have the OEM key. The HP recovery disk allows me to install WIndows?

The recovery set supplied with the computer should find the default computer.  Probably will not even need to enter the key.

Don't forget to patch (probably manually) with SP1 and SP2 after you're done.  Then download the updates (MUCH) released after that.

  • Can I install Windows 7 on an external hard drive and then put it back in the computer as a hard drive internal?

Here's the situation, I reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop when it all of a sudden to stop. Now he cannot start Windows and only shows the Startup Repair tool. IM thinking if I can get my hard drive and put it in a hard drive enclosure and install windows in it as a hard drive external. And after installation, I will put the normal back on my laptop as a hard drive. Will this work?

Furthermore, I can't boot any disk installation because the built-in DVD player does not work, also I can not change startup option because I can't access the BIOS, there the password and I do not know. Please someone help! :( Thank you!

As a general rule, Microsoft allows not 'officially' most versions of Windows (9 x--> 7) to boot from an external hard drive.  However, there could be an exception to this rule.  eSATA pregnant use signals to 'SATA' HDD on an "external" port

    Original title: installation problem

Windows 7 may not be the installation of a device from external storage such as a hard drive external or USB Thumb drive (with the exception of eSATA).

You must install Windows 7 on a storage attached internal device.

  • Impossible to reinstall Windows 7 on a new hard drive

First off apologies if this has been answered recently, I spent the 2 days on this problem and the promise that I searched and google til my fingers bleed. Basically, the situation is as follows:

-The PC tells me HDD is faulty on my Studio XPS 8000

-J' I buy the new HDD, then get out of the old and install new

-Position the disc of the PC operating system, get up to where I can click on install to start the installation of Windows 7 on the new drive

-However he says there is no device driver on the disk, I put in the drivers and Utilities disc, (which came with the PC) but still no driver of the device, even if it says disk they appear thereon

-Back to the old drive and try to make the system recovery disk - try to use USB flash drive but is not recognized, so buy dvdr discs and go through initialization and then it begins to collect files, but on many tests is not go beyond 25% full, let alone engraving on the startup disk.

-Dell Datasafe Local Backup to uninstall and reinstall but the continuous PC to freeze at "25% collection files.

So, what can I do, because my warranty is over? All I have to do is install my copy already purchased WIndows 7 on my new hard drive already bought, but I'm stumped at this point. Thanks for any help of cutting-edge :)

Oh... PS. -I am in England so I don't think I can send away from the backup disks, even if the expiry of the guarantee is not a problem.

Follow the Windows reinstallation Guide / A clean installation of Windows 7:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/

The part you get stuck on is step 6, preparation of step 8 and SATA drivers loaded during the installation of Windows.

Note that I recommend using a .iso of Digital River, which will be the installation of more up-to-date media and the use of Activation and recovery of backup for the activation of the product. Follow the step 2 (using the files at the bottom) and stage 11 b for activation of the product. It is an unofficial solution but works very well.

You can of course try to call Support technique Dell and request a Dell Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 DVD of resettlement.

  • How can I backup all my personal stuff to install my system on a new hard drive without losing all my saved information and contacts?

I have a HDD making noise and I would like to back up my files and folders, windows mail / my email and contacts so that I can install my system on a new hard drive without losing all my saved information and contacts

backup what option allows me to record the information of e-mail, my files and folders, settings of the computer basically everything but the system itself.

I have a full factory CD/CD that includes an image of windows vista (hp system recovery discs) but that does not include my email info or the files and folders to restore

or is it better to centre commercial simple backup windows separately and how can I do this?

I don't want to lose my contacts and my email saved during the backup process.

I understand the hardware drivers and additional programs will need to be reinstalled and I have all my disks associated with the addition of software/hardware.
