This could be because windows server 2003 is not updated with the latest version of the Terminal Server client. With terminal services client 6.0 update... It should solve the problem. Here is the link to download:

    o The System Restore tool

If the problem you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. Using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose another restore point and then click Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

lately, my computer sony notebook runs very slowly.  I used the foctory equipped recovery feature to recover my c drive because it has very little space left even if I moved all my personal ducumentation D-Drive. However, after the recovery, Windows XP started by asking my timezone and the name of the computer, and then turned to a blue background with white letters on it and then, restart the computer again.  When I use the F8 key, I received the message above; my computer, CD-ROM drive does not work most of the time, so I can't use the repair with munufacturing CD feature.  Can you help me?

    Hi Springna,

It seems that the recovery feature, that you used to restore the computer to factory settings failed. As you have already restored the computer to factory settings, we recommend to start once more to restore the computer to its factory settings and check if the problem persists.

By chance, if your CD/DVD drive works, then you will need to follow the steps in the following article to resolve this issue:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545

I get the following error message, but the updates always try to download.  All solutions?

    Hi HuntisChase,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. update you are trying to install on the computer?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

I suggest that reset you the Windows Update components by default and then try to install the update.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, so temporary disable the security software installed on the computer and try to install the update.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • OK to remove c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll to solve the CTD of Flight Simulator?

A large number of users of Microsoft Flight Simulator in Windows 7 seems to be having the same problem, which crashes to desktop. In the thread following the removal of c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll has been proposed as the "solution" to this problem: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/fb1808ff-92f0-478b-9826-f2ed6fbeae97

Assuming that it is indeed the case, is it possible with impunity? (or at least with acceptable suffer, keep in mind that a lot of people have invested a lot of time and efford - and money - in Flight Simulator).

You can rename it, and if you have any problems, then name again.

No, the c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll is part of Windows and should not be deleted or modified.

I appreciate it. However its seems that various people (many?) removed, and their system keeps going (and still works for Microsoft Flight Simulator), so this is appararently not essential. The consequence of not removing no seems to be not being able to use an application that you may have bought the computer to use in the first place. I hope that a response with a nuance more is possible.

  • Error RUNDLL c:\windows\system32\nvmctray.dll the specified module could not be found. .

This message came only when a user connects.  I was not able to find any assistance to this problem anywhere.

This file is linked to your nVidia video card.  You can do one of three things:

    1. go to nVidia, download the driver for your card (look in the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) for the model) and install the latest driver.

    2. right click on an empty space on your desktop, choose Properties and then go to settings > advanced and find the place to disable the tray icon (you'll really have to have anyway).

    3. download Autoruns, install it and let it complete the scan, click the 'Connect' tab and look in the right column for the entry that includes c:\windows\system32\nvmctray.dll, uncheck the box at the left end of the line and restart.  If you can't find it in the 'Connection' tab, select the "all" tab and use the search on the file menu.

  • application or the C:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll dll is not a valid windows image

Hi everyone, my fathers laptop crashed yesterday and since then he was able to start and the following message appears

application or the C:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll dll is not a valid windows image

something appears then it restarts. I did some occasional checking of this problem, as believe that he may be able to replace the file with its installation in recovery mode disc, although neither nor I did before can someone provide some support on what to do, ideally if we can get into windows and get the docs off the laptop computer he is happy the new facility because I think that it maybe Basic virus/malware issue.

Thank you for your time and help in advance

If the c:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll file is missing, you see a message like this:

    User Interface failure
The logon User Interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load.
Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original DLL.

There is a button to click to restart, which when clicked, takes a while to reboot the system.

If the c:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll file is corrupted, you will see a message like this:

    Winlogon.exe - bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcint.dll is not a valid Windows image.  Please check this against your installation diskette.

By clicking OK twice, you will see the message above about the failure of User Interface.

There will be events in the case where the viewing Application log that look like this:

    Event type: error
    Event source: ODBC
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 0
    Description:
Cannot find the description for event ID (0) in Source (ODBC). The local computer may not have the information necessary registry or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the option/auxsource = flag to retrieve this description; For more information, see Help and Support. The following information is part of the event: unable to load the resource DLL odbcint.dll.

You should figure out what happened to get into this situation and respond to the following questions, then decide which is the best plan:

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _.

Did the problem to the top after show installed new software and if so, what software?

You have recently installed any type of remote control software?

Now to fix it depends on how you are fixed to the boot media, since you'll have to start on something.

We know that XP likes to keep the backup copies of critical system files in this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Knowing this, start in Recovery Console XP using your genuine XP bootable installation CD or if you have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, you can make one (no XP media required).  If you don't know what type of bootable media, you, do a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and do not forget.

If Yes, you want and are not in possession of a genuine XP bootable installation CD or a CD from Recovery Console XP bootable, the instructions to create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console can / will be provided before any questioning begins.

You can replace the missing file or suspect the XP Recovery Console by entering the following command:

    Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\odbcint.dll c:\windows\system32

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file and then you should see a message that 1 file (s) has been copied.

If you get some type of a file not found message, the file is easily replaced using other methods.

Remove the CD and type "exit" at the Recovery Console prompt to restart the system.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

    Hello RRC633,

I suggest that see you if you have corrupted system files.

    Click Start
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files. It may take some time to run.

    Reboot your system.

The KB Article ID: 310747 - Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310747

If that comes back without any problems of integrity, then I would check the event viewer for errors in the application or system event logs.
