CAUTION: Scam phone in my view, that notice must get all users to Microsoft, as a company who asked me (but say they do not sell anything) had my mailing address & not my mailing address & my two latest computer purchases came from HP. There is a company in Los Angeles (possible ID is computer X Spot GA with a phone # of 323-522-5336) who say that they do not sell anything. "they are the authorized representative of Microsoft" and there is a serious issue w / the o/s. We ask you to go to your computer and connect with them, but I refused to do it and told them to send the info to my address of record, which was not the street address, they gave me. My phone & DSL provider has received several complaints & informed me that the "scam" is to make you leave on your desktop in order to correct the problem from Microsoft & they install a virus, they can fix for a fee. DON'T LET SOMEONE GET ON YOUR DESKTOP THAT YOU DON'T KNOW.  This does not refer to your Technical Support HP, but against spam or "SPONTANEOUS" telephone scams  I contacted the FTC and recommend to anyone getting a call like THIS to go to WWW.FTC.GOVor TELEPHONE THEM at 1-877-382-4357 to file a complaint.  It is this type of people who are "attacking" people who are too confident and find themselves with a computer has crashed and unnecessary problems for their future.  Note what has apparently been going on for a while, but the FTC needs to pressure to bring SCUM to the point of reckoning for their SCAM hobby.  I have notified HP, but it is recommended that users be warned & notify no friend not warned of this problem.  TKS... Warry

Thanks for the alert, as people need to be aware of this scam!

I might add who once the scammer has access to the computer for what they claim to do, your and your data is at risk of ID theft, loss of stolen credit card information and bank account.

Never, ever allow a caller where you do not have to trigger the call, to have access to your PC.

  • Sometimes when you try to click on a link, instead of the hand, I get the arrow and clicking on sending me to the scam site. How can I fix it?

This happens with many different sites, but only occasionally. I reloaded Firefox, run Norton Utilities, Malwarebyes Anti-Malware program several times. Scam sites vary, false updates of Firefox, bidding sites, a lot of different. If I wait about 30 seconds, the arrow goes to a hand and I can click to get to where I want to go. I can simply close the scam site and hand returns to the site of origin.

    Help!

    Thank you.

    Matthew

You have MyWordTool in your list of extensions. Malwarebytes should detect it.

You can try to remove it from the Add-ons Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + A to open it), category of Extensions. If this is not possible, then try to uninstall from the control panel while Firefox is closed.

You can try Malwarebytes Chameleon, which gets Malwarebytes Anti-Malware running on infected computers. Don't forget to check for definition updates after installation.

I also note that you have two extensions of Norton disabled. You may want to reactivate if you have disabled them yourself, or looking for updates if they are disabled because they are incompatible with your version of Firefox.

If the problems persist, there are other tools, you can try and forums specialized in the removal of malware. See the section "How to get rid of malware?" in the following article.

    Hello

Check the status of the incident, the name of the rule should be in the email notification, the box 'Blackout on the road' is checked. If necessary, change the disabled rule it.

To display/change a rule of incident:
-Go to the Configuration tab > Incidents > Incident rules.
    -Select view > expand all.
-Select the rule that you want to view/edit and click on display (with the glass eye icon) or change, then continue.

    Kind regards

  • Stop writing in the file alert

    Hi all

I want to know how you can stop or disable the writing of the information in the oracle alert file.

    Thank you

An easier way is to create a good file 'null' - requires root access.

For example as root (with Oracle 10 g XE for example):

    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump> rm alert_XE.log
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump> mknod alert_XE.log c 1 3
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump> ll
    total 0
    crw-r--r-- 1 root root 1, 3 2010-06-17 13:35 alert_XE.log
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump>
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump> chown oracle.dba alert_XE.log

Now start the instance. Journal alerts is a '+' blackhole + file - written successor with ignored written data. Reading it will show an empty file.

Of course, using this method for a production instance will be just stupid. Can have uses, but for purposes of single test where the alert log is filled quickly with tons of details that are not necessary (as the trace files are used for instance in the place).

Not really new. Millions of people have undergone this type of scam, claiming to come from their supplier, their bank or PayPal. People also get phone calls claiming to be from Microsoft, asking them to give the appellant access to their machine. It's all fraudulent.

It is a well known scam, Microsoft knows well. With
all names and phone numbers, who becomes very common
    lately.

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, which knows what losses they did are
    where confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.
    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.
