Hello

1. are you able to boot in safe mode?

Method 1.
First of all I ask you to check if you can boot to the desktop in SafeMode with network. Then we can run the online antivirus scan. I also recommend you update your security software regularly.
a. follow the link below to start the free online scan:
http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

b. run the malware removal tool from Microsoft.
Microsoft Malicious - 32-bit removal tool
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=585D2BDE-367F-495e-94E7-6349F4EFFC74&displaylang=en

Method 2.
If the problem persists, then you can perform the system restore in safe mode, to an earlier time and see if you can boot to the desktop. If you are able to start, and then run the scan online from the links above and check.

For more information on restoring the system in safe mode, see the articles below.

  • Shortcuts in the desktop or the Start Menu has not created

    Hello

We use vWorkspace 7.2. and AppPortal for access applications on 2003 TS in transparent window mode. All published applications are accessible from the thick client or VDI computers. When I assign an application to vWorkspace folder, the icon appears correctly in AppPortal. Problem starts when I attribute the same request to "Remote Desktop files", in this case no entries are created, nor to the desktop or the Start Menu or any other option. When I change AppPortal to work in integrated desktop mode all entries are properly created.

There are already a ticket about this Quest (CaseID:887952) support. After many hours of phone calls from the Technical Department explained what I need is available only when all of the TS Office are published. I find it hard to believe that I did the same thing easily with other 3rd party broker connection software. What is your experience, do you have "Remote Desktop Folder" work without providing complete desktop TS?

    Best regards

    Adrian Tonina

    Adrian,

AppPortal is designed to run on your client computer of the end user and is able to show the shortcuts in the user interface or on the desktop of the client operating in desktop integrate mode (DI).  When running in mode of DI, only applications that are designated for the integration of office will have shortcuts created on the client for desktop/menu start.  You can specify in the properties of a managed application, Desktop Integration step.  Note that only applications that are assigned to the Connector vWorkspace records will be created through AppPortal.

Applications that are assigned to the Standard and customized remote office records are created through our configuration of the Shell (pnshell) module, and their shortcuts are created on the remote (TS or VDI) desktop computers.  If configured properly, you will see them on the entire desktop of the remote session.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded

Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities

Infact, when I click on the Edit menu, I noticed that Find is not followed the habit... Does that mean that search doesn't do not form part of this new version of Firefox and if so why?

If you use Edit > Find or Ctrl + F, then you should see a bar of search at the bottom of the browser window. The current versions of Firefox do not show a pop-up window.

  • Tab Windows Help & Support automatically appears in the start menu will not disappear.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

I have a Dell Studio 1535 laptop which is about 1.75 years. It came with (& I always use) Windows Vista Home Premium. As soon as tension after the first, in which the F keys appear briefly in the upper right corner a black screen screen & in the upper left corner, there are blinking underscore. So that the computer to finish loading, I have to press on enter & manually select my operating system. After loading office/Startup computer normal is displayed. However, the tab help and Support Windows automatically opens & can not be closed before reopening. Also, I rarely use Internet Explorer but choose to use Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox also. Sometimes, but not always, after connecting to the internet from hundreds of particular web browser help pages load at a time. I can only close out of the browser by pressing Alt + F4. Thanks to anyone who can offer any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

  • Search on the start menu does not remember recently opened programs and files

"" Search programs and files "bar in the menu 'Start' to remember what has been typed"
Is it really possible that MS desinged this search bar without the ability to remember what has been typed recently? I'm sure this isn't, so can you help me find the option that allows me to turn it on. In the contrary case, retype repeatedly repeated orders in the bar!

I found a way to save at least research. See the link: http://content.techrepublic.com.com/2346-12843_11-94748.html?tag=nl.e064

  • Recent programs on the start menu is not - don't know why?

I read the other posts and have not used "CCleaner", but have used other registry cleaner products. Any ideas how can I fix?

    Hi K_Wallett,

There may be not much that can be done for this, if the registry has been modified or corrupted/damaged. You can try one of the options is to perform a repair installation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917964 however, before this just so that there is no other issue you will want to make sure you have all your programs, files, folders, and everything you don't want to lose saved on an external device. (just to be sure that your data are safe).

  • The 'Search' function on the start menu does not work. It seems to freeze and will not even close until I have shut down the computer. What can I do to correct this situation?

I tried to use the "Search" function to locate a specific file.  The computer froze... not allow me to cancel when I realized that it wasn't working.  The only way I could get the closing of the window had to shut down the computer.

    Hi DyleAcker,
