the start-up of the firewire drive how to again install ssd internal?

Hi, I have not used assistant Migration but opted for clean installs the upgrade from 2009 to 2015 MBP.

I'm good to go except the old is only bootable from disk firewire external, how to take the exact image of what I use (mess on the desktop and documents!) more to the internal ssd that I already deleted and partitioned?

I want it essentially as it looks and works from the firewire drive, now start and look just as it does internal ssd

Do I need to initiate a new installation of El Cap first of all on the ssd? or is there a tool/way to copy such existing firewire bootable environment on the internal hard drive?

Thank you for taking the time to examine this problem.

Rick

Although apparently you can start an external drive to snow leopard, it will not work if installed on the internal drive. As it is not backward compatible.  Otherwise I would say cloning the drive on the internal drive. Migration wizard is the only thing I can tell you to use. But be aware that some of the apps for Snow Leopard will not run in the new computer and the operating system. You should see if there are updates for them. Then you need to recreate the desktop again.

Probably, you need to boot in the BIOS of the computer and changed on the hard drive in IDE mode, SATA, so it can be recognized by Windows XP.

My computer has virus of the FBI, I wiped it is clean but now it cannot connect to intermet because it can't find the network driver how can I find it?

Since you have formatted the PC and reinstalled Windows, your question will be handled better in the hardware forum space and drivers for Windows 7, so I'll move it there.

Apparently, you need to install the driver of your PC network. If you used the CD to restore the PC manufacturer that should have been included, but it may be on a 2nd CD with drivers and programs.

If not, the first thing to do is contact the PC manufacturer to see if they have a driver available for download. If the PC has a wireless network card and wired, perhaps one has been configured, but not the other and you try to use the not yet detected and installed.

    Hello

I try to install XP SP3 on HP Pavilion dv9000, but XP Setup does not see the hard drive.

Can you please point me in right direction - what I do files and how to add them to the XP SP3 installation CD necessary?

I guess that somewhere there is a step-by-step detailed guide.

    Thank you

Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup. If you have the option of Bios Setup to disable the native sata mode, XP will install without problem, no sata driver needed. It will be on the tab of the System Configuration.

If you do not have the setting in the Bios, it's the driver sata for your machine:

I found a partial solution. I advanced and installed the creative cloud on the desktop (this red and white icon). Then I opened that upward. In the upper right corner, there is a little thing that looks like a gear. If you click on it and select 'Preferences' from the menu drop-down, it is a place to specify the location of the applications. It would be better if there was a way to install the Creative Drive C cloud also. Perhaps in the future Adobe that they will restore the ability to choose install drive.

By easy, I mean without having to open Windows Explorer, I found the controls but that is a very slow method and heavy approach to essential basic, common and repetitive.

Hover over the path of the file in the metadata Panel.

Or look in the folders Panel.  You can configure the Panel folders as a hierarchy, as if it were on the hard drive, if that helps.

  • Replace the hard drive and OS re - install Inspiron One 2330

    Hello

I had my all-in-one desktop Inspiron One 2330 for about 18 months.  I see serious problems with the hard disk, the system hangs, and the event log is full of HD playback errors.

ePSA diagnosis shows code 200-0142 telling me to replace the hard drive.  The chkdsk utility runs and sometimes corrects problems and sometimes clean.  Such problems at low altitude, I'm surprised that I can start far enough away from launch internet explore and write this message.

I called Dell support and they were kind enough kindness to send me the original floppy Windows 8.1 for the Inspiron 2330.  I have a disk hard solid state ready to install, and I saw a bunch of great videos from YouTube that explain how to open the case.  The HD swap is not a big deal, but I have a few basic questions.

I know that many readers here know the answers.  Thanks in advance for help...

    1. If I install a blank HD in this installation media machine Dell recreates all of these crazy Dell partitions?  I have not of much use for them until I ran the diagnostic ePSA and it was extremely helpful.  I hope that you will tell me that if I do a fresh install, I get a new partition ePSA addition to 8.1 Windows on my replacement drive.

    2. I do not see why this machine won't support a SATA SSD SanDisk brand new instead the 1 TB hard drive that came with it.  Is it OK to use SSD drives in these Machines from Dell?

    3. have good links for the operating system Dell re - install procedure?  I will be installing Windows 8.1 on this drive.  Strangely I find no procedure to re - install step by step operating system.

    4. I have read that the activation key for Windows is now integrated into the motherboard of the machine somewhere.  Do I need to enter this key when I re-install?  I don't see all the stickers on my machine with the key.

    Thank you for your help,

I finished the upgrade SSD in my Inspiron One 2330 with very little trouble.  Here are answers to the questions for those who find my post using original research.

    1. the Dell Windows 8 installation media disc does not any recovery disc partition, new, retail.  If you install fresh by booting from the DVD drive, you get a nice clean install of Windows 8 without any extras Dell.

It seems that the diagnosis of ePSA is hosted on the motherboard of the system and not the hard drive.  I have had no trouble to boot in diagnostic mode to run tests of ePSA, even if I see any Dell diagnostic partitions.

If you install fresh from Windows 8 media you definitely lose the Dell recovery partition.  No big loss.  It is a little strange to wait the software stored on the hard disk to help you recover problems with the same hard drive.  I'll just do another clean DVD media installation if this happens again.

    2. my SanDisk 256 Gb SSD is impressive.  It costs ~ $80 on Black Friday, and now my Dell Inspiron One 2330 boots in 9 seconds.  This is measured from fully powered down for the moment, I type my password to connect.  9 seconds - crazy fast.  Modernization of the best ever.

    3. my internet search found many useful message board posts, some web sites and blogs.  Unfortunately there is no official Dell Reinstall procedure that I could find.  The complete replacement of unplugging the power to see Windows 8 on the screen by using a new SSD was about 70 minutes.  I gathered the information I could find and guess the rest.  Worked for me.

4 Windows 8 activation code is not necessary for a media of Dell Windows 8 re - install.  The installation process of Windows 8 should be reading the key out of the motherboard because I've never been invited to type one in.

Here are a few other tidbits:

    5. the Dell Windows 8 media support I was sent by Dell wasn't Windows 8 and 8.1.  I spent more time pulling down of updates, restart and then installing Windows 8.1 on the app store that I did replace the hard drive.  Don't forget: some updates depend on other updates being present.  Really, you need to run the Windows update utility several times to get everything down.

On the good side of things, my restarts are now long 9 seconds.  I have no problem whatsoever reset to any indication that the system needs to restart to complete the installation of an update.

    6. after obtaining my update to 8.1 Windows system, I installed all the latest drivers for the Inspiron One 2330, which could be downloaded from Dell.  This figure includes a BIOS update which has been a royal pain to apply.  To do this I had to create a start-up separated from 'BACK' USB key.  In fact, it is possible to create this rudimentary special boot using utilities downloaded from Dell drive.  Locate the "diagnostic Distribution Package (DDDP)".  Good luck with that.

7 Dell backup and restore has been completely useless for the replacement of my SSD.  I have had two drives bootable USB thumb complete with full system backups, the backup restore and Dell refused to restore my data on my Virgin SSD drive.  The error message has complained that my new drive is too small.  It was laughable: my original hard drive was something like 95% of free space.

    8. There is a bonus in all this: by rebuilding your system using the original Windows 8 media, you get a nice fast machine without the excessive Dell bloat-ware.  I do miss the software pre-installed in all.  Glad to get rid of it in fact.

  • (Redirected) Cannot boot from the HARD drive on dell n5010 with SSD and HARD drive installed

I have my old dell n5010 (15R Inspiron) with SSD (Samsung EVO 840 120 G) installed on the main drive Bay and the HDD (Samsung HJJ 500 G) on the optical drive Bay.

It is a typical way to add an SSD on such an old laptop (bought from dell.com.cn in 2011).

My Windows 10 operating system has been installed on the SSD using Samsung Data Migration software, so the previous C drive was pointless. So I formatted and installed an operating system Ubuntu 14.04 on it, hoping the grub OSs double beginning located on the HARD disk.

However, I find no the Dell bios boot option to boot from the HARD drive installed in my optical drive Bay. All the choices are 'Hard Drive', 'Network' and 'Diagnostic '.

But I was definitely sure that my bios program has detected the SSD and HDD with information on the main menu of the bios.

And the LED on the optical drive Bay was immediately once I pressed the Start button on my laptop.

As a general rule, all things were right except for options of the bios boot.

Is there a way I can boot from HDD (with installed Ubuntu) while remaining has my SSD on the main drive Bay? I don't want to swap their positions, because the SSD is super fast on the main drive Bay.

I have alse won't migrate 10 Windows to the HARD drive and reinstall Ubuntu on the SSD, because I'd like my windows be loaded quickly.

Someone at - it the same problem with me?

    Any suggestion is appreciated!

  • Satellite L650 - 10 H - replace the optical drive of a second HDD/SSD?

    Hello
Is it possible to replace the DVD burner with a second hard drive or an SSD?

    Thank you
    Michael.

    Hello

First of all I don't know why would you refrain from ODD... I always use ODD and it fail...

Well, some laptops as Tecra has supported this feature.
For that you need a special envelope where the HARD drive is placed.
This Chamber was placed in the Bay of ODD.

But I m not very well if L650 model that would support personally I doubt it would work because of the controller on the motherboard.

However, if you want to be safe, I would recommend an ASP in your country you asking if a compatible box be available satellite L650.

  • Satellite L305D S5895: Win 7 cannot find the HARD drive or cannot format the HARD drive on a clean install

I have laptop Satellite L305D S5895 of the customer. It was delivered to me by the customer who tried to install Windows XP Pro, Vista and none would install.
He said he tried all the CD that he had finally dropped on it and delivered it to me installation.

When I got the score have been removed, so I tried to install Win 7 and when I do a custom install, I get an error indicating that the hard drive can not be formatted on disk 0 or it will give an error that no hard drives have been found.

I have reset the bios default and no matter what I do, it won't format or find the hard drive. I was going to upgrade the bios, but the only way I found to upgrade the bios is once windows is installed.

Everyone has ideas about this laptop so I can get a system installed. I checked the bios and there is no parameters for a sata, raid or IDE disk drive, so it seems that this version cannot be changed.

Thanks for anyone who can help you.

    Hello

First of all it is an American notebook series.

The laptop supports a processor AMD and ATI chipset.
This means that the drivers SATA is part of the ATI graphics card driver.

You must include the first SATA driver in order to install the Windows operating system.
You could add the SATA driver for the Windows disk using software like nLite / vLite
