The starting of Tecra M4 from an original CD of Windows XP SP2...

I have a Windows XP SP2 full product original CD I want to use to reinstall my Tecra M4. When I boot with the CD it displays the original message "Setup inspects the configuration of your" then the screen becomes black and does nothing else. instead of the standard blue screen with the loading of drivers.

Has anyone seen this problem? Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

PS: The CD is fine. I tried in another laptop from another provider and it starts and installs ok.

Hello Nonak

I've never seen this kind of question, but I heard that standard SP2 cannot be installed on the tablet-PC because of some special characteristics. I'm sure that the installation process may not recognize the tablet pc screen.

In my opinion, you should use recovery DVD for installation of the laptop. It is in fact the professional version of Windows XP Home edition and all utility and specific tools will be installed correctly.

Good bye

    Hello

    At first, everything seems fine:

-to create the new virtual machine

-startup disc for instalation of Windows Server 2008 on this VM

-Select "Repair system" and point the backup image file (full backup - made with standard Windows backup tool)

    -system recovered successfully.

But then, when the system restart recovered fresh - start start Windows normally - and suddenly it is blue screen with the error 0x0000007b

IMHO, this first initiated boot of the recovered system trying to twist something in the special part of the disc and he cannot (because it's a virtual disk?)

Is it possible to recover the system windows image file system server to virtual classic?

Thanks in advance for all voice :-)

    Greetings,

    Welcome to the community,

the error message is related to the controller to start the virtual machine, which is different from the original system, and its drivers are not loaded in Windows. What you try, it is to use the free VMware Converter and run the option "Set up the Machine", which should inject the necessary drivers in the virtual machine. Before doing this, please make sure that the Windows 2008 virtual machine has the default "LSI Logic SAS' controller configured in its settings.

  • The start menu has disappeared from the computer... With explore 7 and the upper part is not constant either. No miracle solution?

The start menu can only be achieved by using ctrl and esc.  Sometimes, it would be great if they kept things simple.

    Hello coinfused,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

The taskbar is visible? Usually when you ctrl + esc and get the start menu, it means that the hide feature is automatically enabled for the taskbar.

    ·         Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen, the taskbar expected popup.

    ·         Right-click on the taskbar visible now and left click on properties.

    ·         Search for auto-hide the taskbar, uncheck the box in the box and click ok.

    Hope this helps

Is a black bar that tells me where I come from and I have to keep clicking on it to get rid of - whenever I put my cursor anywhere near the top of the page - he comes down and tells me where I am as I did not already know that!  It's really annoying. It isn't the charms bar or bottom task bar.  Help

    1. Do not use the touch applications
If you are using a desktop computer, you can consider using office programs instead of applications built for touch screens.
    2. Do not use a mouse pointer
Still, if you use a mouse pointer, you can consider using programs that were designed for users of mouse (desktop programs) instead of the tablet interface.
    3. Use your fingers
It will never appear if you use your fingers, which is how these applications have been designed to be used.
    4. If you want to really use a soft touch without use your fingers, then avoid pointing to the top of the screen.  Or, ignore it: just because it occurs does not mean that you can not just continue to use your application normally.

    Hi Mboltman,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

How do you try to play games (installation from DVD)?

Do you have an error message when you try to play the games?

What version of Windows 7 installed on your computer?

There is also a built-in game of the same type that you are trying to play. You can check if the feature is turned on or off for your computer.

Mahjong Titans is available on the Windows 7 premium editions .

To enable or disable Windows features, follow these steps:

    1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programsand then click Windows turn on or off features.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • MS word offers the option of Microsoft Word 2010 (2) in the list of the start menu

Original title: program registration under Start button

Today, when I was looking for a program that is displayed when I select the Start button, I noticed that the number 2 see the next to registration for Microsoft Word 2010.  It looks now like this: Microsoft Word 2010 (2)

I don't think it was like that the other day when I finally used Word.  Any ideas on why it would start that looks like this?  I made no changes to my computer.

I use Microsoft 7 Home Premium.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Debba,.

-You have two entries in the start menu for Microsoft Word? One is Microsoft Windows Word 2010 (2) and the other is Microsoft Word 2010 Microsoft Office on the start menu?

-Is this Microsoft Word 2010 (2) successfully opened?

-This happens to you with other programs in the list?

If there are two icons for Microsoft Word 2010 on the Start menu, remove the icon of Windows of Microsoft Word 2010 (2).

All you have to do is click on Microsoft Word 2010 (2) and click on remove from this list.

This seems to be only a Microsoft Word 2010 shortcut added to the list of the start menu.

Hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Please forgive me for not knowing how to use this forum, I am an old man and not good at computers, I called Adobe, they said it was my only hope!

    Sorry to repeat

Everything was fine until my Windows 10, lost the start feature, so I had to go back to Windows 7, in this process, I lost my Adobe Reader software, I tried about ten times with different versions and different locations, all with the same error message that is download "the feature you are trying to use is on an unavailable network resource"... are looking for It seems that it does not find when I search there, and I no longer seem to have the AcroRead.msi... the most difficult file, I try, I get deeper and deeper into things I don't know... I am looking for a simple solution!

When it gets to this point, it is probably better to start from scratch.

First of all, download, install and run Adobe Reader cleaning tool to get rid of all remains little. Here is a link to the tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs

  • Network of shortcuts without "start in:" set of path does not work in Windows 7

Well, here is the current situation.  I have network drives with shortcuts that point to another server mapped.

With a XP machine, shortcuts work fine and open as usual.  In the properties box, the target domain is filled by the full path to the target file, and the start in field is empty.

With a Windows 7 machine, shortcut icon is only a blank white page icon, and if you open properties, the target field and the field "start in" are empty and do no editing for each field.  Double click on the shortcut results in nothing happens at all.

I can go to the same short cut on the XP machine and fill it "start in:" field in the properties of the shortcut and it instantly starts to work under Windows 7.  The problem with that is, we have a lot of shortcuts all probably created by the XP machines on these mapped drives.

Of course, XP has no problem with the start in the field being blank, y at - it a way to make that not required by Windows 7 to the shortcut work?  A change of setting or registry maybe?

    Thank you
