The ThinkPad P70 CD tray ejects intermittently when the power is plugged/unplugged

Hey all,.

I am some problems on a ThinkPad P70 with Windows 7 Professional and have met a strange.

When the connection from the computer to the power or unplug, sometimes the CD tray ejects on its own. It happens not every time, but it is somewhat common.

I have run the Lenovo update to get the latest drivers, not to not correct the problem.

No update of the BIOS was detected by the tool of Lenovo.

I also tried to remove the drivers, and uninstall the drive through Device Manager, but the problem persists after restarting.

I couldn't find anything relevant in my research online yet, but I'm still digging.

If anyone has any suggestions on things to try/look, it would be much appreciated! Thank you!

In response to reader tops customer relationships perspective unexpected opening on P70 ThinkPads when food is added or deleted, Lenovo has released a fix to this Firmware v1.09, packed with the BIOS.

For me it sounds like a hardware failure of the motherboard if the AC/DC adapter is plugged and the laptop is turned on

I don't know but how best to m would be if you go to the authorized service provider nearest with the AC/DC adapter. Technicians can check your laptop and swap the motherboard if it of really necessary. The guys are very friendly and helpful!

    Hey Buddy,

    > Toshiba has changed the motherboard a few days ago, but the problem persists
So have you contacted already technicians again? You must tell them that the problem is still not resolved and it must be another reason for this problem. Then get in touch with technicians again to clarify this issue.

Have you connected external devices while laptop is turned off?
-Online if yes remove each of them.

Load default settings in the BIOS?
-Online if it is not this. Enter in the BIOS, and then press the F9 key to load defaults.

Otherwise, it would be time to service as I have already written. It must be a nuisance material

My Pavilion 6500 (specifically dv6623cl) turns off when I plug in the power adapter. If I plug it in, then turn on the laptop, it automaticly turns off before loading windows. If the laptop is already started, and I can plug the power adapter, it immediately turns off. I can charge the battery without any problem, also while the laptop is turned off, but as soon as I turn it on with the adapter plugged it stops, I checked the battery through HP battery check and he said its good, he is holder of a charge very well and everything, the only change made to the laptop hardware wise was an upgrade memory I had no such problems until the upgrade of memory, but I do not see how it would affect the power on the aspect, in order to make a system restore, if ever, I need, the poweradapter must be plugged and theres other system functions that require the adapter complete, it is a question that must be corrected

  • Equium A210-17i does not supply power to the top only with the power adapter plugged

Equium A210-17i turn on when the battery is missing, but the laptop is set to the power supply dc?

I have a dead battery and the laptop does not light with or without the battery inserted.
The food came out 19v as it is supposed to.

Also no led lights on the laptop when the power is connected and there is no sign of life at all by pressing power buttun.

    Thanks for any response.

    Hello

The laptop must also lights up if the battery is not inserted.
If the adapter is ok and if it s connected to the laptop, then the power led should be lit and it should light up.
This led indicates that AC adapter provides power to the laptop properly.

But if the LED turns OFF then that would mean that there is no power, and in this case the laptop will not turn on.

  • The A7r will work with only the power adapter plugged

I want to use this camera (once I have purchaced one) to copy photos and slides.  There may be a lot of time involved, and it would be nice not having to worry about battery life.

Hello oldchas! AC adapter / CC of the A7R is not able to provide a continuous camera power while it is operating. Only a charged battery can power the device. Power must be turned off and the camera connected to the AC adapter to charge the battery. The battery is not charged if the switch is on when you are connected to the power adapter.

  • is it safe to keep the power adapter plugged into laptop all the time?

I was constantly using a laptop Pavilion DV6-1230 we 5 years almost always with the power adapter is plugged in. I replaced the battery once. I was told yesterday that this isn't a good idea, because it can lead to a shorter battery hardware and life issues. We buy a new computer and want to know what is the recommended method for the use of current alternative with a laptop. Is always connected OK? Or we stop the computer at the end of the day? The power plug must be removed from the plug?  Appreciate the suggestions and recommendations on best practices in this case.

    Hello:

It is not a good idea to leave the power cable connected with the battery in the PC.

You should disconnect the power supply at least once a month even if you move the laptop, run Notepad as needed and let the battery drain down until you get the low battery warning.

    Then load it up.

Interesting shots... maybe its another component fail. Send it to the service and let them make the diagnosis. On our side, it is the maximum we can do because the battery is non-removable.

  • My Acer V15 Nitro BE extinguished when the power adapter is unplugged):

OK, so that is the problem. I really don't know when this started happening, but he did all of a sudden just. Just a heads up, my laptop is because of a heavy fall or something like that. Sometimes the charging light does not shine, but the battery is always also load into windows. Its 89% since the last 2 hours. As soon as I unplug the charger, the laptop everything turns off and will not start without it. I can't even contact since my laptop acer support is not under warranty; /. I just did not notice before because my laptop is usually plugged into my office. Please need help as soon as possible. THX in advance

This usually means that the battery is dead, is disconnected, or may have pushed the button 'disconnect' battery on the merits of the case. You might have to open it and remove the battery and make sure that the connections are well connected and put into. If this does not work, maybe need/want to buy a new one, like being able to enter the computer directly instead of the battery can damage internal parts over time.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • Satellite A200 doesn't stop when the power is connected

The Satellite A200 just stops, if the power cable is unplugged before you stop. If the laptop off and immediately restarts (max 5 seconds between stop and restart).

Anyone has the same strange problem?

    Hi Thomas

You should definitely contact the ASP in your country. It is maybe something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard of s specifications.

As said John replacement must be done for free because the A200 is a new series and of the guarantee must be valid.

  • Satellite 1005: Push the power button, will turn off the AC power.

    Laptop: Toshiba Satellite 1005

Problem: When I press the power button and let go, the laptop immediately loses all power.

I use the power cord plugged into the laptop, the power supply light is green, but when I press the power button and let go, as soon as the power light goes black(turns off), nothing happens.

Howerver, if I PRESS the power button without letting go, power LED lights, but the laptop won't boot at all, no Startup logo, no sound no matter what.

It's the second time this has happened, the first time, I let stand overnight and the next day she booted up fine.

Currently, the laptop is cold, it did not work, but always the same thing as described above.

There are no changes made to the laptop.

    Any ideas?

It seems that the contact, the power button is faulty. Better to elevate the laptop to a Toshiba service station for a check.

    I n ' t´t think that it is a software failure.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L20-153: Question on the use of the power supply

    Hi eweryone,.

I just bought a L20-153, and I don't know if I can have the powersypply of cable connected to the computer constantly, as I use it as a home computer.
Is it dangerus to have the power cable plugged in, even if I don't use it for a day or two?

As the battery must be installed on the computer, so that it works, will be the battery damaged penalty if I have the cable permanently connected?

If anyone here knows sometings of these things, it would be a great help.

    Hi Stefan

There s no risk of having plugged power cable but it s not advised to have the AC adapter plugged in if you n t use the laptop.
If the AC adapter is connect the battery will be charged each time.
You must remove the battery when the AC adapter is connected. So, you can increase the battery working time.
