The tiles are missing from the new tab Page

Firefox has always displayed 12 tiles on a new tab of the Page. Today (04/07/15) there are only 8. When I try to pin a site on page, Firefox opens the site instead. I don't know if Mozilla has changed the rules on the tiles how can be displayed. The tiles that have disappeared were the sites that I use almost every day. Any suggestions?

I saw just the wire to the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1070178 - same problem I had. The-edmeister suggestion try CTRL + 0 fixed it for me. I didn't know that display percentages had nothing to do with it. All my usual tiles are displayed. Thank you!

I can remove the "little used" sites the new tab Page, but can't run Firefox to add or "pin" a tile for a site that is frequently used on the Page tab. How can I tell Firefox that a site should be "pinned" on the page tab?

Hi Csbhkvp1, the only way I know about pin of the slab which is not already on the page (sometimes if you zoom using Ctrl-to see all 15 tiles you could spot it) must first of all to bookmark the site you want to pin as a tile, then add the bookmark to the page. Please see this article for more information on this method: customize the page new tab (section "Add a tile from your bookmarks").

Guys we need to stop changing things that work. Sometimes, when a thing is created... you were right the first time. Sorry, but are running out of Internet Explorer. I also hate the new shit tab in 38.0.5!

Open a new tab if you need with speed, it's much better all you have to do is write about: config newtab in the search box and and delete what has the newtab value, as you can see in the picture, I don't download.

  • How to ENTER ON the new tab page? Can't seem to make this work. The toggle switch is missing.

The switch to the new tab page is not there in the upper right. Where is he?

If browser.newtab.url has been "grayed out" subject: config it's probably because it's already the default value, which is of about: newtab... so you don't need to reset. Since you have to reset the preference browser.newtabpage.enabled (to true, by default) then the "toggle switch" should appear, as shown here:

If browser.newtabpage.enabled is now fixed to true and that you still don't see the "switch", you can try Search reset the module that will restore the parameter browser.newtab.url (as well as other preferences related to research and the homepage) to the default value.

  • How can I put ONLY 9 tabs, NO 15, on the new tab Page?

How can I put ONLY 9 tabs, NO 15, on the new tab Page?
(First OFF... Please do not read this as being written by an angry person.) I'm just frustrated with the browser that I liked for years. I hope someone can help me)
For a long time, I had my Firefox (version 33.0.2 - even if I don't remember getting mentions "update") defined so that every time I clicked on the tab new symbol '+' to create a new tab (which has the "new tab Page" on that), the NINE inch nails would be shown for my SELECTION and PIN sites. I LOVED!
Yesterday, I opened Firefox and NOW when I click on the '+' to open the new tab Page... FIFTEEN thumbnails appear, 5wide x 3down, (and to be honest I probably would have the habit of 15! ha).
Here's the PROBLEM: NONE of the thumbnails are "compressed". They ALL have "liberated" up yellow icon to the left and clicking on does nothing to remedy this of course. Other that THAT, everything else behaves normally. (that is to say moving the thumbnails, deleting, swap... I just can't pin THEM!)
FINALLY, I prefer my 9-repositionable decals on the new tab Page.
I went through ALL the options on the side, upside down and backwards, and I just get more frustrated.
    Can someone help me?

    Hello

If you can see all your tiles, you can change your settings in settings page:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.
    3. Search for browser.newtabpage.columns and change it to 3, or however many columns you like
      • Note: browser.newtabpage.rows allows you to change the number of desired lines as well

You can also set a fixed number of tiles with the following extensions:

  • The new tab page was going well for MONTHS, had an image I have uploaded. Today, I had a 'safe' mode what to be, and my image disappeared. How do I restore, so my image rises?

I had set up my new tab page with an image I have uploaded. It worked fine for months, or even years.

Today, I had a 'crash' that asked me to start Firefox in "safe" mode or "restore". I chose "restore."

On this, my image disappeared from my the new tab page. I can't find how to restore and Add ons that supposedly allow me to add my own image are not useful. At least, I can't understand them.

Can provide you assistance on a computer for Dummies level?

If you deleted the folder "Old data Firefox" you have not the ability to restore your previous profile data.

If it's an image you have stored on your computer, you can open this image in a Firefox tab (Firefox > new tab > open a file).

This will give you the file:// URL in the address bar and you can use a copy and paste this file is enabled in the new tab page.

You can set the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page and set the value of this pref on this URL for you the new tab page.

You can open the topic: config page via the bar addresses as you open a web page.

  • "The new tab page" regarding - move a bookmark in the library is not displayed when "+" is selected

It's maddening that I can't fix something so simple.

When I click on the '+' opens a new page with entries unpopulated for Web sites. I tried the steps in 'new Page' tab and was able to drag and drop a bookmark of my "library".

Guests look OK, but the site does not appear in the free text box. It seems like it should work. Is there a simple (stupid) step I'm missing?

    Thank you

Yes, it should work if you are dragging a bookmark or history item in an (empty) the subject: newtab page.

You see at least nine slots on the new tab page?

None of them filled are already?

This problem may be caused by an extension that is not working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

Is it possible for me to put a custom image for each pinned site? A custom screenshot that is not in the cache or an icon to be any? Anything would be better than a box empty here.

    Thank you

You can use the following extension to customize the image displayed for the tiles pinned, among other things.

  • How can I get the default for the new tab page when there is no improved/classic/empty choises when I click on the gear icon.

When I open a new tab, I used to get a page which had tiles for some of the sites I visit often. Now I get the Bing search page. The help of instructions say I can change the default new tab page by clicking on the gear on a new improved, classic, or blank page icon in a drop-down list. When I click on the train, I don't get this list of options. Instead, a settings page appears, allowing me to make various changes, but improved, classic or white new tab page choices aren't there. What should I do?

To modify the new page tab, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to about:config in Firefox
    2. Locate the browser.newtab.url string
    3. Set the value of this string on the URL of your page to the desired tab

This should change the new tab page.

    Notes:

    • Set the about:newtab to get the page of the new classic tab
    • Set the about:home to get the default home page
    • Set the about:blank to get the blank page

I followed the link to help you guys already created. He asks to go to the window "Show all bookmarks" and drag a bookmark already created a vacancy in the "new tab" page. This does not work for my PC as once I drag the desired bookmark, just open this page on the new tab page. Please help with adding new tiles to the new blank tab page.

    I thought about it.

I can't find anywhere in the manual where it says that Firefox must be set on remember the story so that it works. But he does.

I put the tools-> Options-> life private Firefox Will: do not forget history

    and it works very well.

I can understand why remember the story must be about to have FF build this list automatically. But why must it be to build this list manually?

    Well.

I recommend FF to update their documentation.

  • How to make only ONE tab open every time I start Firefox - still, my screen jumps to the new tab page, although I tried to turn it off?

I recently had internet service for the first time in two years. Over the two years, I took my desktop computer 4 times for a friend and got the updates that were available for AVG, HP, Windows XP, Adobe, Java, Open Office. As soon as I have internet at my house a few weeks ago, I started to update everything. My computer (HP Pavilion, Pentium 4 of 2006 - old, I know) now seems to work very well, but it's very annoying that everytime I open Firefox, I get a new tab page I ask, in addition to my homepage of Mozilla. Even more annoying is that my computer automatically to this page of the new tab. I tried to disable the new tab page by following the instructions given through the Mozilla 'Getting Started' page, rebooted the computer, and nothing has changed. Please advise!

  • How can I limit the number of Web sites on the new tab page?

Is there a setting where I can limit the number of thumbnails / Web sites that appear on the new tab page? When I opened a new tab - I don't want to see tons of sites I have visited - but also, I don't want to delete them all. For example - there is a setting where the new tab page displays the last ten sites I've visited - with all my pinned sites?

There are two settings 'hidden' for this 'grid '.

    Browser.newtabpage.Columns

    and

    Browser.newtabpage.Rows

Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

So put . browser.newtabpage in the top search bar.

Each of these preferences in the lower panel right-click and select Edit. Then change the value default of 3 for each of these preferences to what you prefer, for "pinned" both sites all browsing history you want to appear in the 'grid '.

  • How to set the start page for the new tab page?

I have my boot settings to open my windows and tabs from last time. If I leave Firefox with one of the new tab page, the next time I start up my home page indicates. New windows displays the homepage too. I want my homepage to remain such what. I had defined it like that before and had no problem. It's always like that? Thank you.

If you always want to start with the subject: newtab page then you can open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut and add a space and: target newtab at the command line to specify from this page.

Otherwise, you start with the home page or the pages of the previous era as shown in the startup parameter.

A new window will always open by the home page unless you have an installed extension for that to change.
