I tried to erase history, cookies from the Web site, but the problem persists because of which I can't access some important sites of my daily use. Is there a way to fix this?

  • I've updated to Firefox and now get the unwanted pop ups and redirections that wasn't a problem before.

The pop ups were not on the old system and seems attached to some site I open, opening multi-site. I might have to stop usingFfirefox, if this is not fixed.

Hello jgibbs99, you could get deceived by a malicious Web site by downloading a fake update - a true firefox update will contain never this kind of noise you describe! Furthermore updates are managed in-house by firefox if you are asked to download and run a .exe file to update to firefox, it will be false (you can manually check the updates in firefox by going to firefox > help > about firefox).

    Please, try the following steps:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or of potentially unwanted software there (sort the programs installed for their installation date to see what he got recently installed).
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

  • "My Dell downloads" pop-up - keeps coming back. What should do?

Can't seem to get rid of a popup called my Dell downloads.  Can you help me?  Thank you...

    Hi JohnSpotts 609,

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you scan the computer and remove all malware infections or virus, check if it helps.

  • How can I disable the pop up message "of making Yahoo your homepage in Firefox" which keeps coming back?

When I disabled Java and upgraded all the State of plug-in, made Firefox MSN my homepage and I wanted Yahoo. Now the message to my Yahoo home page keeps coming back when well even Yahoo is now in a State of the home page.

The "Internet settings" in the control panel are just for Internet Explorer, so that you can put those aside for the moment. To check and change the home page of Firefox, you can use the page Options, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

Where do you see this message? If it's on Yahoo itself, you can ignore it or click ignore. Sites have no idea of your current home page, because web pages are not allowed to read the settings of your browser. In general they just continually make themselves known, and if tell you them to be quiet, they remember that setting a cookie.

  • Why am I suddenly get pop ups, prompting the opening of 2 files Firefox?

All of a sudden after leaving Yahoo email, I got a pop-up indicating that it was a pop up of the FF, to want me 'open' and no matter what I do
He continues to pop up. There are 2 windows pop up, a SEO https://s.yimg.comand r - sf.html (640 bytes) AND another making reference to the same thing except this one had the reference as r - csc.html (1.1 KB). The only way I can get rid of them is to keep
by clicking Cancel. WHAT HAPPENED TO FIREFOX?

If these files are open, as shown by default, I remove downloads, but they keep popping up when I open the browser.

I need help as SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Thanks for the link to the similar issue, FredMcD. It seems that the new update could be the problem. I just installed the new update now (43.0.1) hoping there is not more of these problems.

I don't know what I did yesterday, but these pop-ups have finally disappeared. I have everything clear when the browser is closed, then the value of FF
There is nothing in the cache. However all that was at the origin of the problem, these pop-ups are gone.

Thank you all for your answers. They are much appreciated!

Hello jmartin6240, you can have present malicious addons. Please, try the following steps:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)

    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.
