the upgrade chart dv6

I recently got a HP Pavilion dv6-3257 cl laptop for Christmas.   I had hit or miss a chance to get the games to run and am having difficulty finding information on upgrading my graphics card.  Is it possible to update the graphics card, or possibly to improve the performance of the Intel HD Graphics?

I really need help here, can't find an answer anywhere difinitive.

The game I'm running GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City.

Hello

This is the latest driver (Windows 7) on the HP site for your Intel chip.

32-bit driver

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50643.exe

64-bit driver

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50658.exe

Download the installer and save it on your desktop.  Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When finished, restart the PC and see if the graphics performance has improved.

Best wishes

OK, let's go with my first assignment. I bought a Satellite Pro M70, a year ago. It has a graphics chip (intel gtl 950?), I just would like to know, if it is possible to install a graphics card, ati or nvidia.

Furthermore, is it possible to upgrade the processor? and what about warranty if the upgrade and installation of all this?

Here, I'm going with my first reply you ;)

No, it is not possible to s. The technology of the laptop is different as desktop computers and therefore you will not be able to update the graphics card.

  • HP DV6-7080eb: the upgrade HP DV6 - 7080eb 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz

I am presently got an Intel Centrino WIreless - N 2330 in my HP DV6-7080eb chip. I would like to upgrade to 5 GHz and I wonder what that forge chip is compatible with my system.

There is no card dual band compatible, I'm sorry to say. Your laptop has BIOS dreaded "whitelist" that blocks the installation of all but a handful of wifi cards. It's the list and you MUST use a card with a HP part number, not just the good chipset:

    Atheros WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 adapter and 1 × 1 9485GN 3012 655795-001

    Atheros 802.11b/g/n adapter Bluetooth 675794-001 1 × 1 WB225

    Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 20702 4.0 Combo Adapter 657325-001 1 × 1

    Module Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN 670691-001

Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1 × 1 WiFi and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Combo Adapter (BT3.0 + HS loan) to be used on the models of computer with a processor AMD to Brazil 600370-201

Module Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 WLAN to be used on the computer with a processor Intel to the 670290-001 Japan models

Do not know how you have the chip Intel Wireless - N 2330 works in yours, but who is probably the best you can do.

The Advanced-N 6230 is wrong. The reference number given is incorrect and it's really a single band Ralink card. Don't think that you are the first person to ask, or that we have not fully explored here in the Forum. I'm sorry.

  • HP pavilion dv6-2150us: problems with the upgrade of processor for an i7-720qm on a hp pavilion dv6-2150us

    Hi all

My friend recently bought an i7-720qm processor used to upgrade hp pavilion dv6 2 1 5 0 US and I

summer giving a helping hand by making the upgrade.

Since the 10 Windows running Google Chrome used up to 70% of the processing of an i3 - 330 m power

processor, it seemed to be good upgrade to improve the performance of the laptop.

We checked that the new i7 processor is compatible with the laptop (it is listed as supported by the)

( interview guide , page 108), and the seller assured us he tested the CPU on some different

HP pavilion and it worked fine.

But when I replaced the processor with the i7 processor i3 and tried to boot up the laptop, only the LED lights

on the front and the setting of the power and volume buttons would light up periodically. The screen was black

    All the time.

Thinking I might have made a mistake during the reassembly of the laptop I put the original i3 processor back in

    and it starts fine.

I updated the BIOS of the F.1C version I found on the internet and once replaced the i3 with the i7 with the

same results - display off, flashes periodically LEDs. The BIOS updated smoothly, and the correct version is displayed in the main menu of the BIOS.

I am confused on what could be the problem with the upgrade, everything should work. Is there a BIOS update I have

    missed, or the problem elsewhere?

Disassembly and reassembly are made with care, and we took care to avoid static electricity. All the rest

on the laptop works well - I am writing this post on the laptop in question with the original i3 processor in place.

Any help, advice or general guidelines as to what should be done would be really appreciated.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hello:

The problem is that if you look in Chapter 3 of the manual, pp 22-23, there are maps of separate used for the dual core and quad core processors system.

In other words, you cannot install a quad core processor in a Board that originally had a dual core processor and vice versa.

  • Pavilion dv6: Intel Centrino Wireless - n 2230 will not activate after the upgrade to Windows 10

    Model A3E82AV number

I've been avoiding Windows 10 because I knew something like this was going to happen, but I took the pludge.  Anyway, everything seemed to work but my wireless adapter.  After the upgrade, the rocker on the keyboard turns on and outside airplane mode, and I can't switch to map wireless in Windows settings.

I can get wireless adapter to turn on, go into that in a minute, but if I shutdown or reboot, the problem returns.

I had success in the driver update, or by manually installing the driver, I even read a tip to make the battery, hold the power button down while the battery is out and run it upwards.  I tried to reset the BIOs to default settings.  When the computer feels like it, the wireless adapter will start working after a reboot.  If I have the toggle switch, the light goes from orange to white, I can then activate wireless and connect to my SSID.  If I stop or restart, my wireless NETWORK card no longer works and we return to the toggle keyboard turning power on and off airplane mode.  Device Manager says it is working normally and the drivers are up to date.

I read a post from microsoft that says VPN adapters could cause corruption while making the upgrade.  I'm a professional, so I got a handful of cards, but also virtual cards VMWare Workstation installed, so I tried to come back to Win 7, remove the adapters, are re-upgrade.  It does not solve the issue.  While I was back in Windows 7, everything worked most of the time, but there were some problems with the programs, etc. which would not work right.  When I upgraded to Windows 10, some of these problems persist, so I checked my backups to make sure they were up to date and did a new install of windows 10.  I am now running a new image with just firefox, associate of HP and the different drivers Intel, I tried to install, and I still can't get the card wireless to tour consistantly on / off power after a reboot.  I thought for sure the nuclear option could solve the problem now I can't even go back to Windows 7.  I did mention to try some recommended drivers Intel, I found in other posts... I also tried to uninstall the driver, and install in compatibility mode, but that has not worked, either.

This one had me scratching my head.  I tried literally everything I can find on the internet in an attempt to solve the problem, and nothing will keep the work of consistantly wireless NETWORK card.  Any other ideas out there?

Looking at the forums, appears not to have a lot of people in all areas of this issue with different brands of computers and network interface cards.  If anyone knows anything else to try, I would really appreciate it.

    FIXED!

I think so.  I downloaded and installed the bios for Windows 8.  After that, I managed shutdown and booted my laptop 3 times and restarted once.  Every time you start after the installation of the firmware BIOs, the card automatically turned on and connected to my SSID NETWORK.  Since the upgrade to Windows 10 I saw not the laptop automatically start and connect the wireless NETWORK card and he did successfully 4 times now.

The file that I downloaded from the HP Web site was update the BIOs for Windows 8 version F.2D rev A.  The file name is sp68425.  I will continue to monitor and make sure that it was indeed the fix, but all great so far.

For people who can run on the same topic, here's a recap of what I did to solve my problem:

    Centrino 2230 installed 15.18.0.1 driver
    Update driver Bluetooth 10.0.10586.0

Updated the BIOS to the version of Windows 8 F.2D Rev A

If you decide to play with the BIOs firmware, just be aware that if things go well, you could cause more damage to your system.  I would only try this method if you are uncomfortable for the recovery of a faulty BIOS installation.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: AMD graphics driver does not not after the upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 online

Microsoft snuck in as the custody of my 3 weeks ago and started the upgrade my operating system Windows 7 to Windows 10 without my consent while I wasn't in front of my laptop. When I noticed what was going on I have reluctantly let the process take its course. I have encountered in many problems. The main source of problems, it seems that graphic of the AMD Mobility Radeon HD5000 series laptop drivers are no longer works, apparently supported by Microsoft drivers.

AMD gave 2 driver updates: 15.7.1 and Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta catalyst.

I installed 15.7.1 but still had no service message.

I then installed 16.2.1 always without result.

Should I give up to get my AMD drivers working and settle for what Microsoft has done that has mucked up the graphics on my HP DVD and Vivo TV apps?

    Hello Grayson,

It is very likely that you upgraded your computer to windows 10. If it is less than 28-30 days ago that upgrade, would have a chance to go back to windows 7. This is possible by clicking on the small papir in the right corner below only 'no new notifications or new notifications' If your only and press on all the settings-> press update of security &-> in the left, you should find one called "Recovery"-> under that with that you should have a return to windows 7.

If you return to windows 7, you can block the forced update by using this link: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2998967/windows/how-to-block-the-windows-10-upgrade.html

    hope this helps you.

  • change input key after the upgrade to windows 8

I use the pavilion dv6-7012tx laptop, recently I've updated the Windows 8 operating system and then upgrade when you press (shift + 2) gives me "while pressing on (shift +') gives @ may I know what is the problem.is there solutions."

Hello okkarai1991. I understand that you have some problems with your keyboard after the upgrade to Windows 8. More specifically you get incorrect symbols when you use the combination of keys shift +. Is this correct?

Though according to me, there is a setting in Windows itself, I would like to add that HP has not released drivers for all models of laptops for Windows 8 yet. Most of the models purchased after October 1, 2011 should be supported. This site has more information on HP and the upgrade to Windows 8.

This looks like a case of Windows using a keyboard that is incorrect. Each language has several layouts depending on the region, it seems that you have one of the other selected. This is a correction which is normally found in Control Panel. The process to access the control panel is a bit different in Windows 8, so I'll give you detailed instructions.

    1. Press the Windows key to take you to the view of the office.
    2. Move your mouse to the upper right corner of the screen and move it to the bottom, this opens the bar of charms.
    3. Select settings in the bar of charms, then select Control Panel. Then select the Language Options.
    4. Click Add an input method, and then select 'QWERTY-US.'
    5. Remove the old method of entry, leaving only QWERTY U.S. and click OK.
    6. Restart the computer and verify that your work of combinations shift + you want.

    I hope it's useful!

  • The upgrade of several graphics cards?

I'm interested the upgrade of my d5200t (and perhaps my SR5125CL) to several graphics cards in order to run BOINC projects that can use graphics cards (for example, GPUGRID) better.

So far, I have found that:

    1. my computer room can not consume much more energy and stay at a comfortable temperature.

2 GT240 and GTX275 boards have been recommended as the most profitable for the GPUGRID program I want to run.  Motherboards based on the ATI (probably HD58xx series or higher only) may eventually become usable, but not before some time after AMD/ATI releases the next updates of their OpenCL compiler.

    3. two GT240 boards instead of the 9800GT card I would be now about dual GPU computing without current power significantly more power.  How many of these cards motherboards will hold?

Where can I buy the appropriate cards online, with an installation service?

It's your motherboard.  It has only a 1 PCI - E x 16 slot for a video card.  Also watch the video chart area for restrictions.  Your PC specifications indicate that your PC has a 460 watt power supply which is good but not big enough for larger video cards.  The GTX 260 and above all probably need one more great power will provide.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

Your PC local repair shop and manage a video card and power supply installation. You can get a quote before you buy a video card.

www.Newegg.com has a lot of video cards.
