The upgrade of the card Wifi in T420s AC

I think the upgrade of my wireless card Intel AC card.

As far as I understand there is a white list of BIOS for the authorized material that will require flashing before you install anything with non - Lenovo FRU. As I have not been able to find a card that is dealt with by Lenovo, I don't really see option to blink.

Could someone point me in the direction of a work card, or a mod of BIOS work? I thought the 7260 Intel as a replacement card.

Did anyone done this before? :-)

Welcome to the forum!

There is no wireless card out-of-the-box-work AC for a T420, so looking for a mod of BIOS.

There are places online that specialize in the provision of modded bios, I doubt anyone here will post a direct link with one of them on Lenovo's own forum.

Time to put the search engine of your choice to work.

Good luck.

    The card wifi T400 Intel N5300's is a full-size PCI-e card

The card wifi T420 is intel N1000, it is a half-size PCI-e card

In T420, there is a position near the site of the ram to the back of the portable computer, which can operate with a PCI-e size. Is it possible to intall the Intel N5300 here? Or that there is WAN only?

    Hi, Frank:

Here is the link to the manual of service associated with your laptop.

Supported wireless cards are listed in Chapter 3, pages 19 and 20.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01988326.PDF

You can use one of the listed supported cards and they must have the part number HP on them or will not work.

I would look on eBay for cards b/g/n used, but tested and functional one of the models listed.

Make sure you get you a list for the country you live in.

Questioned by the HP part number and only buy a card where you actually see the part number shown in the picture.

Or buy a new one from HP on the link below.

  • 17 - g052ng: update of the card Wifi on 17-g052ng

    Hello

I have this laptop and I would like to upgrade to use a Wifi ac card 2 x 2. In the manual, I can see that this series is also comes with ac in option being the Intel card http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655126 (pdf, page 10) 3160 then it should theoretically work 100%.

I've also been thiking of a better card AzureWave AW-CE123H or 7260 Intel... I am aware of HP being famous for having white lists for wifi cards and at the same time that newers models form the last years do not have these limits more.

Anyone have more info on my compatibility?

I saw a guy online who have improved an Envy 4-1117nr with an AzureWave AW-CE123H, which is not actually on the list of "supported" here http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03599931

    Thank you!

For systems without a whitelist (manufactured pretty much since the 4th quarter of 2013) you can install any card wi - fi the same form factor (e.g. low-profile mini-pcie) and if you have a sufficient antenna. If you try to install a card 3 antenna 2 antenna system, you won't be happy with the results. It is very difficult to put on a new antenna.

See p. 38 by the maintenance manual.

    Manual

Some models need the lid removed to get to the wifi. On your own, you remove the bottom cover which is much easier.

  • Pavilion dv6-2155dx: need to fix the card wifi for dv6-2155dx

Hey guys. I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx with a Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 wifi card. The card was to die for a long time now and about to go off completely. All other PCs and phones connect properly to the internet here, except that this laptop connects, but drops to around every 15 minutes, limited connectivity or so and I have to turn off the wifi and then turn it back on to operate for another 15 minutes. Its incredibly annoying and I need help to make sure that I have buy the correct replacement so that it will work. Here is the info I have:

    HP Pavilion dv6-2155 x
    No. WA781UA #ABA

Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 wifi card
    Running Windows 7 64-bit OS
All the drivers are up to date, the computer is free of viruses, spyware, etc.

Basically, I need to know if there is a model specific card Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 that came with this laptop that I need order. I've seen several different of these cards for sale online, but they have all the different numbers and I just need maybe a link or something to show me the exact replacement I need.

Thank you very much for your time and help!

    Yes, you need this one

    https://www.Amazon.com/Intel-5100-512AN_HMW-wireless-572507-001/DP/B00O0GG1L2

The maintenance manual does not list a Centrino Wireless - N 1000 card. You must not only the correct chip, but he must have a part number of HP. Probably your card has this number on it, on a label or on the label that the number of "SPS" and it will be 6 numbers and a dashboard and then three other number 001 usually.

The 5100 card is dual-band 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz so is in fact a better map and will work.

  • What are the cards WiFi are Equium A60-692-compatible?

    Hi all
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692 (model: PSA67E-001001EN). It has a wifi, lid at the rear for a wifi card, but I can't seem to find a list of anywhere where wifi cards are compatible. Someone would be able to provide me with a list of compatible cards!

Some people said that the Toshiba Equium A60-692 does not support a Wifi but as there is a sign for one at the back I guess that it is wifi ready! In the connectivity for the Athros Wizard, he says also there a 1394 connection, but it does not have a card.

I found a few on ebay and I want to know if they will be compatible:

    (1) Toshiba 802. 11a / g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card - Netzwerkkarte, Mini PCI - 802. 11 b, 802. 11A, 802. 11 g, PA3298U-1MPC

    Hello

If s said Atheros has a connection 1394 so I guess this means that the firewire.
The IEEE 1394 mean the firewire connection available on this laptop.

Anyway, the WiFi network is not available and if you want to use WLan technology on your laptop if you use the WLAN USB key. It is the simplest way to connect to the wireless LAN.

  • Satellite P10-304 - the card WiFi mini pci can add?

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P10-304.
I would like to add a mini PCI Wireless.
Can someone tell me one would suit this machine.

    Thank you

Do you see black and white antennas near the Mini PCI Slot?

If this isn't the case, then you can not install a Wifi card. He won't get any reception. You get a USB Wifi instead.

If you have the antenna, Intel 802.11bg card (2200BG) should work. http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/pro2200bg/

Its a good idea to buy the card from Toshiba (via an ASP) since the Wifi card can be modified to work correctly in the P10.
If you buy a generic MiniPCI Wifi card, he can switch Wifi does not work properly.

  • Replace the card wifi Atheros on Satellite A210-12 q (PSAELE)

I tried to replace the Atheros card build-in with an Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG LINK: [http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/wireless/prowireless_mobile.htm]
But for some reason any machine does not see the card.
I tried with three types of Intel IPW3945ABG cards and none of them has been recognized by my computer.
Is the cards intel not "compatible" with my computer or come into conflict with other hardware components.

The card Atheros build does not work under Linux (it works quite :-(), so it is very important to me, to get the Intel working on my computer card.

    Hello

the problem is that your computer has an AMD processor, so if you try to install a WLAN Intel card who needs centrino technology that is ONLY taken in CHARGE by the Intel platforms, then your won´t machine recognize the card. To answer your question: the map you´re trying to install is not compatible with your system.

I wonder why your card is not working properly under linux, I have 2 machines with integrated atheros cards and they work like a charm (Ubunutu and Gentoo).
So if you describe where the problem is so we can perhaps find a solution and you should not try to install a card intel...

    Welcome them

  • Possible upgrade for my card WIFI (AR9285) (AR9280) Dv7-3065dx

    DV7-3065dx

    Windows 7 Edition Home Premium x 64

Hello, I am looking to update my map of current wireless (AR9285) for the ATHEROS AR9280 network so I can use my signal of 5 GHz of routers. It seems that when you shop, the AR9280 and AR5BHB92-H model number are interchangeable and I'm a bit hesitant to buy one on eBay because I don't know if they are really the same card or not. Another approach, that I took was looking in the maintenance manual for the part number of HP for the AR9280 and lists 518437-001 and it pulls up to some more expensive options to eBay.

For me, to go with the item listed indicating the number 518437-001 HP substitution feel safest, but it's because I don't know much on the subject, but I don't want to be a sucker newbie who buys the article itself at a marked up price.

My questions: are AR9280, AR5BHB92-H, 518437-001 the same card? I'm going to face problems of 'white list' with all the options? Also are there better options that I can look?

    I really appreciate the help.

    Hello:

Change a wireless card in an HP laptop, it's nothing less than a nightmare.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02638165.PDF

Supported wireless adapters can be found in Chapter 3, beginning on page 3-6.

You can install one of the maps in the manual and it MUST have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

It's nice to buy a card supported on eBay, but you must query the HP part number, not the number of brand/model of the card.

First of all, I would like to input the part # s in the box on the link below and check the part number matches the description that you see in the list of the parts and the manual because several times the numbers in the manual is incorrect.

    http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=2CC545FB8E2B4351A889652C6EADF3C1

According to the manual, there are only 2 cards of 5.0 GHz band supported (if the descriptions in the parts store game).

    1 Atheros 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module 9280AGN

    2. 4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module

The numbers are specific to each region so make sure that you select the right part number for the country you live.
