The W700 has a switchable graphics card?
The GPU dedicated to the Integrated GPU?
I have received conflicting information on this subject?
I was told of any system is also switchable discrete graphics.
The W700 is not have switchable graphics. Visit this site and download pdf portable ThinkPad, (the expedition of Tabuk), in it you will find the specifications for all current ThinkPads.
Hope this helps

Hello:
There is no graphics card AMD switchable for my model, even with a BIOS update. That is right.
Or is it still be grayed out as in the current state. That is right. An update of the BIOS will do nothing to allow you to change the graphic memory settings. Everything will be grayed out as before.
So if I overload a game settings, from the middle to the extreme, this means that most of the 3 GB memory graphics will be allocated to catch the game? Or even will not use the 737 MB dedicated? The laptop will initially use all the dedicated memory. If that wasn't enough, he will then consume the maximum (2.4 GB) memory system available and put it to the chart.

I had an opportunity T500 and read about it. How to identify if it has a switchable graphics card? When I go into the Windows XP Device Manager, I see a card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
If it has ATI gpu, then it is a switchable graphic model.

Upgrade of Windows 8 has changed my graphics card driver, & now I get vertical bars on the screen, sometimes flashing. It is sometimes difficult to use the screen, especially when it has a dark background. It is a HP Desktop quad core with card Nvidia GEForce 9600. I tried to roll back the driver, but that didn't help. I assume that the driver I need is no longer available. I also went to Nvidia to try to find a better driver that would eliminate this problem, but no luck. Before, this came with an update on Vista, & I could correct in the way to roll back the driver. Any help would be appreciated.
Go to www.nvidia.com and download the WHQL 306,97 drivers updated successfully.
With the installation of Windows 8, Microsoft provides only the "bare" minimum drivers in order to complete the installation of Windows.

Upgrade to Windows 10 &; option lost switchable graphics card
Sorry if this has been discussed before. I looked for a solution for the last hour, and I don't have much time today. I need to solve this problem as soon as possible. My problem was when I upgraded to Windows 10 on my laptop Windows 8.1 Y40-70. This laptop has the video card Radeon R9. After you have installed Windows 10. I lost the option when I right click on the desktop, the option "switchable graphics card. The laptop detects only the Intel version in the map.
Is there a solution for this yet? Thank you

HP Pavilion A14Ld-550 desktop: this office has a replaceable graphics card?
The HP Pavilion 550 desktop computer - A14Ld has a replaceable graphics card? I often hear on an integrated graphics card, it is the question that I am trading for this model, and it has 4 GB memory graphics dedicated with AMD Radeon R5 graphics card and an AMD A8-6410 processor, 8 GB of memory and a 1 TB of HDD with Windows 8.1. So, is this model with the characteristics I've listed have his replaced graphics card?
The answer is NO, because the HP is not a 550-A14Ld graphic slot PCIEx16. The actual GPU is anchored in the CPU chip. The concept is a like a laptop computer in a matter of funds. The real PSU (power supply) is really a brick 65W, very similar to a computer laptop power supply. I'm so glad you asked!

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1167dx Notebook PC with Windows 7 x64bit Home Edition. Is the switchable graphics card, which would be better upgrade for games or other compatible cards?
I think you're asking if you can replace the existing graphics card with a new one?
No, unfortunately this is not an option.
With your system, you can switch to 8 GB of RAM. Done that and uninstalling unnecessary programs can help performance.

GRAPHICS ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 700Hello
First of all I'm really putting t understand why you start two topics with the same theme. It is often better to have a subject with good content and interesting comments. Am I wrong? ;)
Anyway, in your case, it is interesting that Toshiba use adapted drivers because of the material. This means that this graphics card is not required to run at the maximum level. Material cooling in laptops is very problematic and high temperature can cause overheating or a material damage. All hardware components are placed on a small square. Graphics card produces a lot of heat and it is not so good for other material.
When you use graphic driver non-Toshiba card is forced to run faster. That's any use of support laptop manufacturers don t of third party drivers. The fact is that physical protection is a priority.
I didn t do all the experiments, but according to some reports on this forum, there is how to install the driver of non-Toshiba graphics card.
Please check this forum and you can find a lot of comments about this. An interesting topic is http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18063&messageID=66186

I downloaded this update - ATI Technologies Inc. - Display - ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics. After the installation, I get this dialog at startup "the Catalyst Control Centeris not taken in charge by the version of the driver for your compatible graphics card. Please update the ATI graphics driver or enable your ATI card using the display manager. "I looked for the display manager but can't find it. What should I do?
In the devices you can try to select your ATI device, properties, back the driver.
If it does not, see my post above for information on where to get the driver
Configure MSUpdate for Important / critical updates only and ignore the optional updates

Deliver the switchable graphics card Windows 8.1
Hi, I had a problem since upgrading to Windows 8.1 with my graphic card on my laptop. I tried to go through the official support, but they were not very useful (I wanted to reinstall windows 7 and stick to it) so I decided to try one last time to repair my laptop here.
I have a HP ENVY Ultrabook 4 - 1053tx http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=my&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5285... , which has no windows 8.1 on the site of HP drivers. It came with Windows 7 that I upgraded to 8 (no problems with it).
Since the upgrade to 8.1, I met the following problems:
-Audio is choppy / stutters not bad, which is very annoying when listening to music. I am facing this problem in any media player, I have try and on Youtube/all other Web site. This problem occurs only when the laptop is connected which leads me to think that it is a problem with the 7670 M Radeon HD card or driver. The laptop is on the 'performance' mode when plugged in (i.e. the best graphics) and use the Intel one 4000 when it's on battery power.
-If the laptop goes to sleep / screen saver turns on, I sometimes wake up questions. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds then the office returns, and a box at the bottom on the right say that the Radeon driver handed over a fall.
-J' have a video game installed (Football Manager 2012 through Steam). If the laptop is disconnected, or I put the game specifically to use graphs when it is connected to energy saving, the game loads fine. He tries to open with the Radeon card, it hangs or does not load. This happens every time.
Symptoms make me feel that there is something wrong with the Radeon graphics card or its drivers. I tried to reinstall the intel and drivers radeon (win 8 versions), but it has not solved the problem. I also tried to install the driver to win 8.1 for the 7670M I found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5371... but it also does not solve the problem.
I tried to reinstall win 7, then upgrade to 8, then the upgrade to 8.1, but which does not either. I am out of resources on this topic. I don't really want to go back to windows 8 as I like the improvements to the 8.1 but these questions (one audio including) are driving me crazy.
Thanks for reading this, I hope that you have any ideas for me. :-)
Well, I think that I found a solution to my problem for a long time. It seems to boil down to a problem with the start program Intel RepID. I changed the mode "acceleration" of "Maximized" by establishing "Enhanced" in it, and so far this has solved the problem! I've been using the laptop plugged in for a little over an hour and no problems so far.
I can't take credit for the difficulty, I stumbled on this thread that had the same symptoms whch pointed only when it is connected, and they thought it was to do with the technology of quick start: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Crackling-sound-while-playing-music-in-HP-SPECTRE-15-4010nr/td-p/2386327/page/5
In any case, thanks for your help @Dindin trying to solve the problem. I hope that this means no more problems with my laptop :-)

Can we replace the NVIDIA 8600 M GS graphic card in my laptop dv9730nr?
My question is: if I can replace my card NVIDIA 8600 M GS graphics mother dv9730nr? I spent a lot of time trying to find the answer to this question. I could not determine if the motherboard has a MXM connector on it, or if the graphics card is soldered to the card. Anyone know?
Hello:
Here is the link to the dv9700 maintenance manual.
http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01951704.PDF
There is no procedure to remove and replace the video chip.
This is because it is integrated (welded) on the motherboard.
The entire motherboard must be replaced to replace the graphics chip as well.

The HD 5450 M dedicated graphics card not recognized DM4t: SOLVED
I never actually had to post on these forums but be long time lurker ive encountered a big problem. First stop, I have a HP-DM4T-1000 with switchable graphics and a HD 5450 M map. Until very recently it works fine. He was a Catalyst update a few weeks ago during which something I messed up, possibly the update got cancelled while underway I remember exactly. After that Device Manager don't would not show more ATI graphics card and the graphics in switcable would not work. Catalyst Manager would say that no device is found. I already tried updating all ATI software and the driver doesn't have a chance to find this card on my laptop. Only the integrated card works and I'm really eager to play torchlight 2 when it comes out tomorrow haha.
Are there any available advanced techniques to search manually for a graphics card lost on a device without opening it to the top?
Solved by myself, I had to boot into safe mode and the disabled card itself. All I had to do was then turn it back on, start in normal mode and install the catalyst through ATI/SUPPORT/C: hard disk Control Manager.
