The Windows Installer can't find hips_cc.msi
When I log on my Win XP PC Windows install comes up that tries to install a program in non-descript and says that it can't find hips_cc.msi
I'm trying to cancel it, but in the habit of Cancel. In the meantime, XP starts and seems to work OK until I'm going to install a program. When I do this Setup program Windows said I can't install it because another installation is in progress and complete the installation and restart the installation again later. I can't because I can't access through my office windows installer. Then when I go to shut down my PC, it used to close because Windows Installer is still looking for this bloody file! hips_ss.msi!
I hope you can come up with an answer to save me to do a complete reinstallation of Windows
Hi Doug,.
I'm sorry to know you face issues with your computer. Your description, it seems like you get a hips_cc.msi error when you log on to your Windows XP computer.
This file seems related to the CA antivirus program. You have this program installed on your computer?
If so, the program works is perhaps not as expected. I suggest that you even uninstall it and reinstall it. You can also contact CA support for the same thing.
See also this article on how to uninstall a program from your computer.
If it does not, then answer with the State for we can help you troubleshoot further.
Thank you!

Why the Windows Installer keep popping up, either on a web page or an e-mail to the office when nothing is installed. No way to stop that... ?
The desktop of your computer, click on the tab "Start", usually located at the bottom left of the screen (on Vista, it's maybe the windows symbol instead of the word 'Start').
Now, find and click on the program title 'run '. Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the area of research at the bottom of the menu 'start '.
Once you open 'Run', type 'MSCONFIG' in the empty box and click 'OK '. This will open the System Configuration utility.
With the open System Configuration utility, select the tab "Services".
Scroll down the list of services (it may be advantageous to click on the 'service' column to sort the services by alphabetical order) until you find the program "Windows Installer".
Now, click on the checkbox next to the name of the Windows Installer and click on the button 'Disable' at the bottom of the Configuration of the system.

Windows 8 "the Windows Installer Service can access."
Dear Skype community support,
Skype does not allow you to connect more, but requires to download the latest version.
Instead of installing the new version, Skype corrupts Windows Installer and it hides in the services.msc list and generates the error message: "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Please contact support for assistance.
Please provide a way to install Skype and repair Windows Installer
Thank you in advance.

How can I empty the Windows installation on my hard drive?
How can I empty the Windows installation on my hard drive, please? I was going to re - install, then I changed my mind.
Now, every time that I reboot, instead of launching Windows XP Pro, it try to run Windows installation. The installation program appears as a second menu item under "Windows XP Pro" on the black screen at launch. How can I remove it from the startup screen and flush it out of my system?
Any correction, automated for this?
Thank you.
It is difficult to determine what you did, but the symptoms you describe can be eliminated by editing the boot.ini file (you can also make things really difficult if you make a mistake when you edit the boot.ini file, so be careful). Will not be "flush out the Windows installation" of your system, but it will stop the menu from appearing at startup time.
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022
Your boot.ini file probably has a second line in the [operating systems] section. Make sure that you delete only the line that points to the installation routine.

It is lookimg for a path that does not exist.
Sometimes, a problem of uninstalling can be set by the re - download the application setup and uninstall then reinstall.
If you encounter a problem, try to install a new version of iTunes and the installation will not go ahead because it is impossible to uninstall the previous version, use The Windows Installer Cleanup utility or free Revo Uninstaller to remove the remnants of the old version.
What about the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, the link above is a non-Microsoft site because Microsoft says:
While the utility Windows Installer Cleanup fixed some installation issues, it sometimes damaged other components installed on the computer. For this reason, the tool has been removed from Microsoft Download Center.
If you have imaging/software disk cloning, you use it to make a backup before using either tools above. At the very least, make a registry backup with the restoration of the system or (free) C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT.

When I try to install window 7 ultimate my Windows vista ultimate, the spectacle of the window the following error message "a required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVDm and USB flash drive, please insert it now. Roman Si the windows installation media is in the drive, you can remove it for this step. "I have the"TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device"CD/DVD-ROM drive, and and it come preinstalled with no driver disk. So is there a solution to the problem?
You could try to copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your hard drive. Then start the installation from there.
(I've seen a post or two during the upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32 bit). Could just be a funky DVDROM drive problem. Copy of the files should ignore the issue.
I hope this helps!

Resettlement without disks

How can I reinstall the pack without the disks after I cleaned the system? Thank you, KimHello. I have a computer bought from a friend with windows vista home premium installed. You have a hard drive partition to do - but you would need to contact/see the FAQ from the hardware manufacturer (HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) to see if and how.
Otherwise - you might have to order (pay for possibly) the factory restore/recovery of the value of the manufacturer.
If it was built * friend *, you will communicate with them. Ask your media.

I tried to install iTunes, but he said that "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Call support personnel. "They gave me similar messages by other programs I've tried to install as well.
Because I was not running Windows in safe mode in time, I assumed that the installer was not installed correctly. So I tried to download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
But then I got error messages like "this update does not apply to your system" and "not enough memory is available to process this command." I tried all the links and none of them worked for me. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit, and I 2.38 GB of available RAM, so I don't think that the lack of memory is the problem here. What should I do?
1.] I had a previous version of iTunes, but I got rid of it with Revo Uninstaller.
I was looking around and I found this: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-setup/96680-repair-windows-installer-service-vista-all-versions-2.html
I followed the direction of the last message (by F'n Vista) and changed the value of WOW64 Registry and now iTunes has installed perfectly and works now. I'll try to install other programs that I got hurt with previously. Thank you very much for your help! :)
